@brad LoL, This came off as very passive-aggressive. Kilgore might not feel like he knows enough or has the right resources to do Ray justice.
I think we collectively should try to make such a page as Wikipedia generates a lot of traffic. We want to spread Peatism as much as possible.

Probably someone who understands the threat to their game. More importantly, someone content to quantify the cognitive deficit inherent in playing games and considering threats to them. Ergo you called it, a functional retard.

None of us do really.
Have a go @Kilgore. Less is more and it's meant to be a collaborative platform anyway.
According to Larry Sanger you're far more likely to have a problem with its regular bedroom dwelling editorial than complaint from anyone here. Who could simply add or edit.

@Kilgore What can you even say about Ray Peat? Everything you hear about him online is like a cut from all sorts of places. Before you'd even want to write about him, you'd need a lot of information, & also a good reason why an article on him should be made. I think since he's adjacent to a lot of alternative-health spaces & even the whole trad movement & right-wing stuff, he should have a page. That's me though.
-
Yea it would be a good idea I think to have a page that summarises his philosophies, ideas and where he got them from.
-
@Norwegian-Mugabe @Kilgore Didn't mean it to be passive aggressive at all. I think it would be good to have a Ray Peat wiki page, since the top result when Googling "Ray Peat Wiki" is the idiotic RationalWiki forum page. I think that making a short stub article could be very simple and quick. There's definitely the talent and knowledge on this forum to make it happen.

@brad @Kilgore @Norwegian-Mugabe
https://t3uncoupled.substack.com/p/ray-peat-a-history-of-blake-college
https://t3uncoupled.substack.com/p/ray-peat-a-chronological-timeline
Those two articles, along with his website, should have enough references for at least a stub about him.
-
@Norwegian-Mugabe Wikipedia editors will just delete it or add tons of disparaging sections to it to prevent people from ever listening to or reading anything Peat said. They'll call everything Peat did pseudoscience and that'll be it, anyone who reads his page will never give him another minute. Wikipedia exists to "educate" NPCs on what they are allowed to think and not think about. It is filtered through the worldview of hardcore leftist woke tard "science"/institution worshipping zealots.
-
Wikipedia is controlled by some really woke people. I wouldn't recommend creating a Peat page unless you're willing to deal with a smear piece.
Surprised the smear piece doesn't already exist tbh.
There is a wiki on Glibert Ling, although it's not terribly bad. Likely because he's kind of esoteric outside his micro-electrode invention. I believe I remember them disparaging him though on the membrane pump stuff (which is unironically his most fascinating stuff!).
-
@Hearthfire Wikipedia can actually be really bipartisan on a lot of historical figures. I would give it a go, honestly. Getting who exactly Ray Peat is can be a serious chore for most people, the barrier to entry should be far lower.
-
@brad As well these are great so we could possibly pin an 'About Ray Peat' post to create a source of info to bypass Wikipedia, for now.
