@Sugar Physical health is less of a risk at that age than mental/intellectual health. It's of utmost importance to learn 'how to think' and discover creative outlets. As well as overcome interpersonal/social issues that prevent them from sexual/professional success and fulfillment.

Also, to prevent the need to wear glasses due to eye problems like nearsightedness, full sunlight exposure everyday is an absolute essential.

Not wearing glasses will also contribute to your looksmaxxing.

            This is it.

Build some muscle and get to around 10-12%.

Being lean also improves facial appearance.

You don’t have to blast steroids and look like Thor to do this.

Mental health follows physical health. Mental health has also rather little to do with looksmaxing.

Living healthy is the correct answer. Lift weights, eat healthily, sleep long hours with a stable circadian rhythm, avoid stress, develop strong social connections, spend much time in nature, breathe properly, and keep a good posture.

Put yourself on fire for peak energy metabolism.

                Ignore, judge, overcommit.

Lifting weights, the way most people do it in the gym these days, is stressful, it's not healthy. It's not healthy to do or keep doing a movement if it's not physically enjoyable in that context.

@Norwegian-Mugabe Live healthy with a relationship with nature and friends/family, but also you need a holistic understanding of how the world works and I mean transcending jaded cynicism and recovering some energy to work within and/or beyond the present systems. This kind of intellectual/spiritual vision is necessary so you don't get depressed from wage labour rate race earning a living and forget what life otherwise is outside of a tunnel vision stressed state reduced to a cog.

The question was how to looksmax. Lifting weights and getting lean is the most effective method.

Obviously, from a mental standpoint, do not base your worth on what others think about you.

@Mallard6146 But to be fair, what's the typical purpose young men have in looksmaxxing? Its for sexual success, right? "Marginal improvement in appearance" is a much less important factor than overcoming autistic social behaviors.

Looksmaxx ideally should be at a minimal level of investment. If we can make young people more serious minded about things that matter, and give concrete help towards it, rather than have them become obsessive about their grooming and posture there would be more progress in bioenergetics.

                            Do some sprinting (short).

                            And listen to @jwayne.

Lifting weight is extremely healthy if you do not keep the volume too high, and consume enough sugars.

It isn't, and often exaggerating with terms like "extremely" isn't healthy either.

Non @Truth your take is extremely erroneous.

The majority of people who live a hunter-gatherer or pastoralist like lifestyle and who are in excellent health, don't do bodybuilding, and a good proportion don't make intense, sustained muscular effort most of the time. A good proportion of animals don't lift weights, and a good proportion rarely make intense, continuous muscular efforts, and yet they are in excellent health.

Bodybuilding is by no means necessarily for optimal health, and it's not extremely healthy; good health can contribute to making movement and/or competition more enjoyable, that's all.

If a person has no energy from eating and doing things that amuse them, bodybuilding is just an extra depletion that limits them even more.

@Truth I was watching bodybuilding transformation videos yesterday and it certainly looks like they put a lot of stress on to the body. Seems very nutrient demanding if you go hard with it. Muscles, testosterone, lifting weights is all health has been reduced down to for men. That's why all of the influencers go for the TRT look. Everything else doesn't really fall into what the average men is looking for, though highly important.

To me JW, 'revolutionary potential' is as much a 'wrong thing' as 'looksmaxxing'. Unless someone wants them walking in circles.

Interesting. They seem to like it over at r/Ascetus.

I wouldn’t call building a good body a marginal change in appearance. Neither would I say that constitutes an obsession (though it certainly can go that far).

Changing autistic social behaviors is good, but their goal will still be sexual success, no?
