I have discovered a way to use essential oils without greasiness and made a good recipe

use everclear, and the essential oil, applying it becomes non-greasy

so you could do 28ml Everclear, 1ml peppermint oil and 1ml eucalyptus oil, or your oil of choice

I have looked at miconazole and related anti fungals for hair loss. And I've seen miconazole depicted as androgen-neutral, which does not seem to be the case.
It might not target the androgen receptor, but like all the azoles it inhibits many steroidogenic enzymes. The one of the least issues in that regard seems to be isoconazole.
So I would definitely not take it orally, but also even topically seems risky. Although Wikipedia states that topical absorption is minimal .

Its tendency to inhibit steroidogenenesis, might also be part of the reason it works, it also inhibits the enzyme that converts progesterone to androstenedione, so that could locally increase progesterone in the scalp which is very hair protective .

          Dare to think.

Here's a new study suggesting topical MUFAs cause regrowth of hair.

It's interesting that only MUFA promoted hair stem cells . SFAs were neutral and PUFAs destroyed them.

There was a study where lard regrew hair that could be the reason why.

It still seems to be downstream from increased ATP, OxPHOS and mitochondria (PHC1a)

So maybe pure oleic acid on the scalp is the way to go ?

There was a study in 2013 where a researcher tested pig lard on himself and regrew a lot of hair.

https://cltri.gov.in/Pugazhendan/Beneficial Effect of Lard in Androgenic Alopecia.pdf

The recent study is going viral all over social media. Those amazon oleic acid sellers about to make bank lol.

Just go to your local supermarket to buy high-oleic sunflower seed oil: 88% MUFA, 3% PUFA, 9% SFA.
Why not apply it to your whole bodies and scrape it off for care and cleaning, Roman style.

@Mauritio Does it come down to membrane fluidity as the cause for MUFA improving the ETC?

@Hearthfire yes I mentioned that in my above post. i guess that's the mechanism then. Godd that it's not risky or expensive to try it out.

They showed that PUFA actually killed the hair stem cells so I'm wondering if the small amount of PUFA in subflower or olive oil would be enough to destroy it. So i do think it's best to go with oleic acid in ethanol to replicate the study.

No at least i haven't seen that mentioned. It reliant on hair stem cells and on PGC1a which increases mitochondria and eventually ATP.
