Vitamin E side effects
-
I take about 400 IU vitamin E daily (MCT oil, not soy-based) and I get very strong heat flashes, and extreme sweating from it. It happens with any form that I'm taking.
Are these side effects of it being strongly androgenic?
I'm mainly wondering if this is a cause for concern or if there is a way to alleviate it. I'm also taking K2, D, A, Coffee, Gelatin (but the effect persists whether I do or not).

@deliciousowl Be careful with this otherwise you will crash your estrogen. No one will tell you this on RPF but if you take multiple anti estrogen supplements you can crash your E. I mean its ok for someone who is starting or is obese etc.
But taking Vit E, K2, D3 and aspirin tanked my libido, made my joints hurt etc.
Its better to keep the E2 levels in mid range.

@milkgains_bro I don't know where you got the idea but you're overestimating your ability to correct Ray's understanding of these things. None of these are caused by low estrogen at all.
-
@CO3 just try for yourself. Im talking from my own experience.

A lot of folks have mentioned tanking their libido by crashing their estrogen due to stacking multiple anti estrogenic supplements. I personally have done fine with vitamin E because I only take vitamin D and B vitamins consistently.
But if you are noticing negative effects, I’d stop and try later and at a lower dosage. I remember someone from the old forum saying they did better taking 400 IU once a week

Could you please elaborate on that? I want to learn more about it.
What is the estrogen level that can be seen as excess and when it is not enough? What are the causes of low libido when taking anti-estrogens?

@Kvirion This guy Ray Peat has a few books and articles, highly suggest checking out at least a few of them.
-
@CO3 Could you be more specific?
I've already checked some of them, they are pretty technical, but there is no definitive answer to my question...Could you help or you don't know too?
[Update]
I've just asked PeatBot...Peatbot: Yes, it is possible to have too little estrogen. Estrogen deficiency can occur for various reasons, such as menopause, surgical removal of the ovaries, certain medical treatments, or genetic conditions. Low levels of estrogen can lead to symptoms and health issues, including:
- Hot flashes and night sweats
- Vaginal dryness and discomfort during intercourse
- Increased risk of osteoporosis due to decreased bone density
- Mood swings and depression
- Sleep disturbances
- Skin changes, such as thinning and loss of elasticity
It's important to have a balance of hormones, and while the context provided emphasizes the dangers of excess estrogen, it also acknowledges that hormones like progesterone and thyroid hormones are necessary to balance estrogen's effects. If someone suspects they have low estrogen levels, they should consult a healthcare provider who can perform tests and provide guidance on managing hormone levels appropriately.

@CO3 just go to any related steroid forum or r/ steroids and search for a "crashed" or "low" estrogen. You will see dozens of posts of guys who crashed their estrogen with AIs.
Vitamin E, D, K, aspirin etc. are natural aromatase inhibitors. Maybe they are not that strong but when you combine them it can have very strong estrogen suppresing effect.
Who did not experience this will not believe.
I had to learn this the hard way and know that you need some estrogen to have working libido, strenght, energy etc.

What are the causes of low libido when taking anti-estrogens?
Peat mentions Reichs view of 'genitalization', which is like ape gooning vs artful making of love.
I believe the deeply genital-oriented erection "libido" is driven by the same thing that initiates the process of puberty and that would probably be too much estrogen and cortisol.
People tend to masturbate more often when stressed and so it can be seen as an estrogen/cortisol driven activity. If your "libido" lowering is thinking about and consuming less pornography then it is probably a sign that you are in a higher energy state.
However if you no longer respond to sexual stimulation / tension with reciprocal feelings it is probably a sign something IS wrong. -

In the meantime I found this explanation about estrogen - sounds plausible https://www.instagram.com/p/CpK558ZokyR/?img_index=1

@Kvirion I didn't mean asking 'Peatbot'. Just read his stuff, I don't see what's so hard. If you have any idea about his paradigm then you should get that the entire premise of 'low estrogen' is severely retarded.
And to the other moron telling me to check out bodybuilder forums and searching 'low estrogen' to prove it's a thing, I would suggest the same. Particularly it would be useful for some of you to take a more humble approach to your knowledge acquisition.

If it is so easy why can't you enlighten us here?

@milkgains_bro This was also my hypothesis, but I'm definitely not an expert. I stopped taking the vit E and my libido is increasing and the hot flashes stopped
