At one point he seemed to be aging rapidly with very marked wrinkles, grey hair, and a very unhealthy looking hue. Few weeks later he looks like a vibrant 30 year old. Has he himself ever commented on what he's taking?

It is probably one of the most energy-requiring process in the cerebral cortex, and something like endotoxin should be able to switch it off almost immediately.
