Sorry for replying very late. A few things got me busy and I had been wanting to reply but it took so long before aibgot freed up and by then I could not find it in my alerts anymore.
First off, saliva pH should always be around 1 pH higher than urine pH. If ever urine pH us higher than saliva pH, there is something really off such that this inversion occurs.
Now let me talk about the other deep end of it, where acid-base balance is optimal. To give you a perspective from that side, so you can understand where you are at currently.
When everything is peachy, you urine is more likely to be acidic, because most of the time, our body is getting rid of acidic waste. So do not expect much out of getting a pH of 7 from urine. A pH of 7 is expected from distilled water, which is neutral. But with urine, when during the day you get a value of 6.4-6.6, you are looking at the optimal pH. So long as the first criteria is met (saliva pH at around 1 pH above urine pH).
This is when you have all sources of acidity minimized in the body. Metabolically, you are running heavily on mitochondrial oxidation, producing CO2 which is a pH buffer, and producing a minimum of lactic acid and keto acids from the other metabolic pathways. Your body is not fighting off toxins and infections, nor are you taking drugs that are acidic. But there are acidic foods you take such as meat, which is a necessary tradeoff to getting nutrients from food.
Which is why when during the day, when you're not sleeping and eat, it is normal to see your urine pH go down to 5.5 or even lower to 4.5, as long as the first criteria is met (which I already described. Back read if you forget). At night, when we sleep, our lungs and kidneys are actively at work rebalancing our acid-base pH balance to make up for the acids we produce during the day. When you wake up at night and see your urine pH at 6,4- 7.2, you are seeing the effect of your kidneys and lungs at work and catching up by restoring your balance. Day in and out, you have a body that is able to provide you a basic foundation of health arising from having acid-base balance. Your body is a good terrain where disease does not step in like any uninvited stranger into your home. For me, this is how you can be assured you don't get cancer.
If your urine pH is 10, it is very likely your saliva is going to have a pH that is less than your urine. Your saliva being more acidic than your urine is a very bad sign.
Before I proceed with why, as this requires a lot of explanation, can you test both your urine and saliva pH and give me the values?
