But to be honest I have no clue. I've also heard that meditation is rather antimetabolic and so it'd make sense for it to calm a hungry person. Maybe its antimetabolic because it supresses hunger. Or Qi is antimetabolic.
This study was not about meditation.

So instead of changing the diet of obese people they should just do qigong.
The 2 are not mutually exclusive. People can do them both.

Modified Qigong Breathing Exercise for Reducing the Sense of Hunger on an Empty Stomach
This breathing exercise provides comfort in different circumstances, such as lack of regular meals, limited volume or caloric diet, and even during temporary complete absence of food in therapeutic fasting. It worked better than simple box breathing.
https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/epub/10.1177/2156587217707143Here are the facts observed in this study:
1.
The modified breathing exercise reliably eliminated the sense of hunger.
2.
Gastric acidity decreased after performing the modified breathing exercise.
3.
Pressure reduction in the colon was registered during the modified breathing exercise.
Reduced sense of hunger lasted from 1 to several hours after performing the breathing exercise. -
RE: Whats the deal with "Vitamin" A?
Night blindness and childhood blindness can also be caused by a vitamin A deficiency.
https://www.pnas.org/doi/abs/10.1073/pnas.44.7.648It would seem to be important to be mindful of night blindness if you choose to go the low vitamin A route.

RE: Welcome!
@brad Thank you for setting up this forum.
I have only just arrived here and I am still getting the lay of the land. My last forum suddenly felt very unwelcoming.
It is good to see some familar names.
