@DavidPS
It's great breadth of topics discussed and it was so nice to see the four of them together! I wish there will be more!

RE: Blocking cortisol extends lifespan more than rapamycin, by improving mitochondrial function
@haidut
Even though I agree with everything you said, unfortunately we have no evidence of it from this study. As you may guess from my name, I know some things about fruitflies and their hormones. Basically, flies do not have a cortisol analogue, so in this case mifepristone acts as a progesterone antagonist. Flies change a lot their guts with reproduction to maximise egg production at the cost of their fitness/lifespan decrease. Basically, mifepristone blocks flies' progesterone (called juvenile hormone) and this prevents the remodelling of their intestine (which involves a reduction in mitochondrial efficiency). So blocking flies' progesterone or mTor has no additive effect as they both go towards the same direction reducing gut growth and turning flies into sterile.
Anyway, I hope this kind of studies will come soon in mice even though we know already the outcome ;). I hope that within a couple of years I will be able to start my own research group and I will get in touch with you! I'd love to think together new ways to test Peat 's principles or your compounds with my fruitflies! -
Casein constipation
Hi there,
It is a few months I try to use casein from saturee but it gives me very severe constipation. I tried to add it to juices or dissolve it in warm liquids but the results it is always the same. I thought casein was a good way to increase protein intake and keep tryptophan low but it doesn't work for me ( I only tried the casein from saturee). Has anyone else experienced it?
Many thanks! -
Vitamin K and constipation
Hi all,
I have taken vitamin K2 in the form of idealab kuinone (1 drop on the wrist before bed) and noticed really great effects on my metabolism, increased pulse and temps, shiny teeth, better mood and great sleep. However, even if I take only one drop for one day or two, It really makes me severely constipated. Does anyone know why? Should I increase my magnesium ( I take magnoil every now and then) or supplement with calcium ( I usually drink only 2-3 glasses of milk per day)?
Many thanks for your help! -
RE: got palpiatations eating butter
Are you sure it is the heart? I think it could be the gallbladder secreting more bile acid to digest the butter, sometimes it happens to me after a fat heavy meal.

@wester130 That's very interesting!
Have you noticed any improvement on hair? Increased thickness/ growth ? -
RE: Topical Lugol's Iodine regenerates scar and completely removes it
@RawGoatMilk88
I think Danny Roddy said somewhere that micro needling or pinching the scalp can help temporarily hair growth by increasing nitric oxide. So long term is not the way to go, you want to increase CO2 instead -
RE: Vitamin E weight loss
@chosroes when do you take it? Any particular part of the body for application?
Thanks -
Vitamin K2 protects mice against NAFLD induced by high fat diet
The title is quite self explanatory and the results are very promising ! The most effective results were with a dose between 0,2-0,4mg/kg of body weight.
The HED of around 1,6-3,2mg for a 100kg person (correct me if I am wrong). So I guess one drop of kuinone from idealab should work!Here the link to the actual study:
