RE: did taking Armour the Peat way at night worked for you?
yes many times, and it is a bit confusing. Following Ray Peat on the thyroid effect/benefits has been more helpful.

RE: Neomycin alternative for SIBO? concerned with Ototoxicity
when you had SIBO, did you avoid high fructose fruit and limit sugar in general?
I keep see that fructose should be avoided with SIBO.
I thought sugar digest fast in the upper part of the small intestine therefore there is little chance to bacteria overgrowth, so I'm a bit confused with the FODMAP

RE: did taking Armour the Peat way at night worked for you?
I have measured a coupe of times my am temp before rising with two different thermometers. A glass under armpit shows low tempt at about 97, but the Braun ear always shows about 98.
what do you think about this? if I follow one thermometer I'm hypo, but the other says I'm ok

RE: did taking Armour the Peat way at night worked for you?
@risingfire what should the pulse be when waking? I took this am my temp before getting out of the bed and it was 98, I believe my pulse before raising is low 60's, same when sleeping

RE: Neomycin alternative for SIBO? concerned with Ototoxicity
@Jennifer thanks
I heard Ray mentioning that. I feel I really need to figure out my thyroid optimization as a must and still straggling a bit with with dosing and timing. I often get a bit confused about symptoms/side effects.

RE: did taking Armour the Peat way at night worked for you?
@risingfire thanks for looking at it.
I do check temps and pulse, but I think I still need to figure out my Thyroid optimization yet, and straggling a bit with it.
I use the last generation Braun Ear thermometer now, and temp seems to be good most of the time, about 98.6 during the day.
HR though is often low 70's during the day when at rest like seating at the desk, or there is no stress, sometime even about 68.
I take half grain Armor before breakfast, another half before lunch, then I have been experimenting with an additional 1/4 either in the afternoon or before bed. Really trying to understand how to properly time and split during the day my Armour dose. I believe taking it before bed disturb my sleep

RE: Neomycin alternative for SIBO? concerned with Ototoxicity
thank you guys for giving me some input here. I will research a bit deeper what you have suggested and try something instead of the Neomycin

RE: Neomycin alternative for SIBO? concerned with Ototoxicity
@Jennifer thank you for the info, as always.
how long did it take you to clear out SIBO with Thyroid? I assume it worked because your bowel movements became more frequent?
I have used NDT for a while, but never really understood fully thyroid until I got to Ray work. Hopefully optimizing thyroid will help my SIBO as well

RE: did taking Armour the Peat way at night worked for you?
consider I modified this a little, but my Calories and macro goals are the same.
I substitute the banana with 2 corn tortillas for breakfast.
I moved some protein from lunch to dinner, so I get about 50gr protein each meal. I also added about 20gr carbs at lunch, plus I snack fruit or dates before going to bed maybe after dinner too.
On top of this Ca amount, I add 500mg at dinner from bonemeal.

Neomycin alternative for SIBO? concerned with Ototoxicity
I was just prescribed Neomycin and Xifaxan for SIBO, but I'm getting quiet concerned about the side effects of the Neomycin.
I'm not sure it is placebo but after 3 days on it, I believe I'm already experiencing some buzzing sound in my hear and not sure I should keep this up for another 10 days.
what would be a safe alternative to Neomycin?
thanks

I eat pretty much the same. I already saved a usual day of eating plus a day of eating with liver, did not do that with the Oysters.
How do I send it?

RE: did taking Armour the Peat way at night worked for you?
I do everything, thanks for checking on this. Since Peating I have increased my Ca to about 1500mg tot, some from cheese and the rest from Oranges and Bone Meal supplement

@Jennifer said in did taking Armour the Peat way at night worked for you?:
have you tried taking the 1/4 grain earlier in the day with your breakfast or lunch dose or perhaps you need extra calories, particularly carbs, when taking an extra 1/4 grain?
I didn't. I was thinking to try to take it at 3/4pm maybe, since I tend to get sleepy around that time, or maybe just taking the full grain in the am, then the 1/4 around 3/4pm.
Perhaps I will try it again before bed with extra carbs

affordable good quality OJ in the US?
I'm usually drink the Trader Joes OJ either the fresh squeezed when available of pasteurized, I like them both. Something I buy the whole foods pasteurized, non from concentrated.
is there any other "safe" OJ to drink at less cost? is concentrated as good and safe as non concentrated?

@Jennifer said in did taking Armour the Peat way at night worked for you?:
I’m not sure if Ray recommended that approach to someone specifically, but he said that the body normally makes about 4 mcg of T3 per hour so if you take 5 mcg or 10 mcg with food, it won’t cause stress by going far beyond the normal physiological concentration. Since half a grain of thyroid contains 4.5 mcg of T3, having it with food aligns with his dosing recommendation.
we chatted about dosing Armour few weeks ago. I was on a similar dosing protocol as yours, half grain before breakfast and lunch. I tried then to add a 1/4 before dinner.
Initially I thought it was not causing any sleep disturbances and felt good, but after a couple of weeks I thought it did. I stopped it and I believe I was falling a sleep better.
I tried again with the extra 1/4 this time at bed time, but I seem to have the feeling of not sleeping while I'm sleeping, and waking up over and over.
Do you have any recommendation for this issue? how would you try to time my Armour? I'm listening everyday a podcast with Ray on the Thyroid to draw some info dosing with the Armour, so far a host mentioned to be taken twice daily since the half life of about 8hrs

Anyhow, fingers crossed the combination of Xifaxan and Neomycin does the trick.
thank you.

No idea, perhaps @Jennifer knows more about it.
