I noticed over the past week the site was getting slow. Loading pages was taking awhile.
-
Maybe Charlie sees the writing on the wall and has just given up. The forum was only getting about 10 posts per day the past few weeks. It's dying/dead. He killed it.
-
@Gaston Yep, he killed it. Personally I don't believe any of the conspiracy theories that were proposed here, I think the whole debacle was just Charlies retardation/going insane.
-
The database is going through a solar flare-related detox event but will return in a more glorious form.

Hopefully he makes it through ok.
You're probably right and I hope the same. Life Giving Store is also offline.
The business has a phone number if a bored American wants to make a product inquiry.
-
@sharko maybe you can share this on a sharing platform of some kind?
-
I can't live without it. (Mainly the old information that is there, the new information has already lost direction)
I am now collecting every possible Ray Peat information from the web and keeping a backup on my computer in case it is external factors. For some reason they also removed the entire backup of the forum from the Internet Archive. It is stressful.
I even started transcribing all his interviews from YouTube and everywhere.
Deep breath, you just need to calm down. All of this has already been done.
By all means though. Do it again. Why not. The more redundancy the better.
-
@sharko I understand you. It is a very rich forum, full of very interesting information. But, don't worry about it above all if you have a back up and don't forget all the knowledge you have accumulated will never be lost even if internet is down.

Now it's back with this message.
"A storm took out the server in our data center. We are in the process of moving to a new server. Thank you so much for your patience."
Consistent with the solar detox theory from @revenant. Ahem.

@Lovesickhs18 More than a decade. And this is what happens with unchecked power.
If the forum comes back online, just save as much as you can to hard drive and then upload to other places.

This is data
Im putting this out there
With the chance this is n = 1Just received a before work text
Unauthorized charges through PayPal were made
Around 100$
YesterdayShe is calling PayPal now
Said it was linked to the “forum label”This is someone who has no clue as to the drama and what not
Posting here to give heads up
Certainly hope im wrong and can delete when resolved
-
-
@Peatful So you think that Carlie made an illegal unauthorised charge to your paypal account from when you were a forum supporter? I cancelled my support after he lost his mind.
-
Thank you for clarifying
I have a personal friend who joined once it became subscribers only
Like a year ago maybe?
Before the overt changesLast night there were unauthorized charges on her cc
They were pending
They were connected or labeled through the forum
The RPFShe is calling her cc company or PayPal this morning to dispute said charges
It was three
They totaled ~100$Addendum: she is located in the US.
To add
She only did the one time subscription service
Not a monthly withdrawalHope this is helpful

I continue supporting Charlie. I hope he regains his perspective. I like him and he has been very helpful to the Peat movement.

This has already been accomplished. Someone else posted the link already...the "peatarchive." I think internet archive respects copyright law. But some of the other archive sites don't, lol. It's a dumbass law anyways, Charlie better recognize he's not in control of the information on that forum. We have it all already.

Same for me. My philosophy is don't contribute malevolent intent when sheer stupidity usually suffices. I don't think he's smart enough to be that evil intentionally, lol.

You are funny hamster.
-
@Ecstatic_Hamster Hey, I'm also no supporter of how Charlie has treated long time friends, but by purity of this comment, I think it stands on it's own merit and should be honored as such - one human seeing the humanity in another
for those who can't stand Charlie and his camp, consider pitying the dude - an old Victorian thing that can be done while also acknowledging stupidity or need for justice, without losing your humanity.
I think the most boring answer is usually the right answer - no conspiracy needed - weather knocked out his store website, and likely did it to rpf, too. Weather has been terrible at least in the Southern Midwest in the US (a tornado killed 6 last week).
-
The forum is inaccessible and the archive isn't working for me. Even if I copy and paste the exact title of the thread I want to read into the archive search I can't find it. Very cool how Charlie wiped out tens of thousands of posts of priceless information from the internet to defend a copyright he quite literally has zero legal or moral right to hold. Genuinely unfathomable how he thinks he has a right to profit from the Ray Peat name because he registered a website domain.
