It's my jokes isn't it. It's my presence. It's over.

Not a great opener for thread to be fair. I don't actually know Karen Hurd.

If beans were as great as lowtoxin/karen hurd protocol adepts say Brazil would be the healthiest country.
Brazilians eat rice+beans in almost everymeal -
@irichard-will No they don't

@alfredoolivas
Brazilians don't what? Don't eat rice and beans everyday?
I'm brazilian, i live in Brazil.
I grew eating rice and beans everyday because it's cultural and rice abd beans are accessible food for poor people.

@Peatful because your contribution to this thread is so informative and interesting
-
@lobotomize it's too bad the Ray Peat forum devolved into following this person as well as the no-Vitamin A crowd.

Things have only gotten stranger since Walter White showed up @PranaDeva.

@irichard-will Hispanics in the US have higher life expectancies than Whites even though they're much poorer. Legume consumption is associated with lower mortality. I don't know much about Brazilian cuisine, but don't they eat a lot of beef? Do they use pufa oils or fortify bread with iron?

@VehmicJuryman
Brazilians use soy oil when frying.
Meat has become quite expensive as the country economy is going downhill and meat consumption has declined.
We are used to eating salad.
I don't know if it's a lot more than other countries
Our flour is fortified with iron and folic acid -

Brazilians eat rice+beans in almost everymealA quote from another forum:
" its healthy!!! in my time in brazil, i noticed a few things. they eat well, they stay active (not in front of a TV or computer all day, very few stay behind a desk doing paperwork), so it was normal to see people over 80 years old going around town all by themselves! people over 80 taking care of themselves! this is very rare in the USA, where once we are 80 we are just kinda waiting to die… yeah there are a number of people in the USA that age well and stay fit, but the great majority of us are not as well off physically as a brazillian by age 80"
