Mild Vitamin A deficiency decreases DHEA and Pregnenolone by 40%

Even a mild Vitamin A deficiency decreases DHEA and Pregnenolone formation by about 40% in rats.
Not surpsing, since Vitamin A is needed for the enzyme that converts cholesterol into pregnenolone ( https://bioenergetic.forum/topic/1006/vitamin-a-deficiency-impairs-gonadal-steroid-synthesis?_=1708874573052)Even more evident was the effect on androstenedione, which suggests that the important enzyme 3bHSD was not working anymore (https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/3β-Hydroxysteroid-Dehydrogenase)
In the testes the conversion was more than 4 times lower when the animals experienced an "acute Vitamin A deficiency".

@Mauritio Yeah see low pregnanalone and dhea is needed for the liver to effectively remove toxins to achieve the optimal human state and take back our country
-
Charlie said his cholesterol went from 500 to 150 (or something very similar).
Why do you think Charlie and other toxic, low-toxic-diet people feel better?
Anything that has 'cleansing reactions' I stay clear of, (having gone through that with buteyko breathing). I think it's dangerous. It certainly felt it and I regret doing it to that extent. -
@Lizb What was it about buteyko breathing that made you consider it dangerous? Personal curiosity, buteyko is something I practice daily, and would like to hear from others who didn't have a good reaction to it.
As for Charlie's cholesterol drop it's anyone's guess. But more than likely I would bet it had something to do with him avoiding vitamin A, and thus it liberated stored A which is then combined with LDL to make pregnenolone, DHEA, DHEA-S, etc.

@BroJonas Question: why do you believe anything that lunatic says?
-
@Mauritio You are stuck on bad science
GeorgiMauritio which is harming the people. I know you have a good heart and would not perpetuate this fraud and slow genocide of the people if your eyes were opened. I pray for the scales to come off your eyes, in Jesus name. -

The toxin A crowd is about 6 months out from castration territory...then comes the cyanide in the apple juice, you know, for detox bro

@Kvothe Jesus ain’t helping you understand either of our posts. I was making a joke an OP was sharing a study against the anti vitamin A crowd?
What’s going on lol
-
So the euphoria/mania people experience on low A is the result of cortisol/estrogen/serotonin. Makes sense considering the live case study we’ve been witnessing.

Ich danke Ihnen für diese Studie und den Link zum Artikel.

@Mulloch94 thank you for your note on cholesterol.
Buteyko:-
I'm glad I have learned minimal, belly nasal breathing.
I believe it has helped me avoid chest infections (I have bronchitasis).
I know now how to pace myself and when to stop and slow down.
It's the cleansing reactions that gave me difficulty and if I was doing it again I would choose a practitioner who had a gentler approach.
My cleansing reactions:-
It felt like an assault on my body
- leaving me on the sofa for four days, for a day sometimes,
-sleepless nights,
-
very weak, inability to do simple tasks because I just didn't have the breath to do them.
-
horrible mood
The practitioner kept pushing and pushing me in order to experience these reactions.
I honestly think that someone with bronchiectasis shouldn't be going into the realms of cleansing reactions and the pushing to hold the breath to extreme difficulty.
I have experienced some amazing results with buteyko on occasion:-
-
tolerating very hot weather and being able to be working out in the sun without any difficulty.
-
walking up many steps, steep slopes as if I was walking on the flat (blew my mind that one)

@Lizb Thanks for the insights. I haven't been doing mine long, only about 5 weeks now. But it's became a viable replacement for bag breathing, which I never really cared for anyways. I'm still confused about all the various methods. For example, I've been doing the "breathe light" method and the "nose hold" method. I actually temporarily stopped these past few days due to a sickness I had, my nose and sinuses were stuffed, and it wouldn't have made for a very therapeutic experience. But hopefully I can start back tomorrow. It was really a breakthrough when I first started, helping me with my chronic hyperventilation (along with thyroid supplementation). I'm not sure I understand to the fullest extent what you mean by cleansing reactions, because the Youtube videos I've been watching on Buteyko hasn't mentioned anything about it. I did, however, notice my sleep was worse for the first couple weeks I did it. I'm still very much in the process of determining whether this practice will work for me or not, but so far the side effects have been mostly positive.

that means it's working. ur body is detoxing, you just have to wait 40 years for the amazing effects to show themselves

Poison A exorcism affects the synthesis of ascourgic acid (rats) and it reflects on the adrenals. But Grant speculates that ascourgic acid isn't needed as well. So, for animals to lower poison A and ascourgic acid at once is helpful, it means room for useful molecules.
From an earlier discussion..
Vitamin A: Not Required for Adrenal Steroidogenesis in Rats
"It has been shown (8) that there is an immediate decrease (up to 50 percent) in ascorbate synthesis which accompanies any significant depletion of liver vitamin A."
"The purpose of this was to demonstrate that functional and morphological changes occur in steroidogenic organs before any manifestations of peripheral vitamin A deficiency occur."
"Vitamin A-depleted rats maintained on a diet free of ascorbate had a decrease in the activity of adrenal 3β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase, and extensive adrenocortical degeneration. The use of an ascorbate supplement prevented the symptoms."
"The morphological appearance of the gland from an animal supplemented with vitamin C and deficient in vitamin A (
Fig. 1D) was indistinguishable from that of the control group (Fig. 1A).""Similar hyperplasia and tissue destruction found in rabbits and guinea pigs on a scorbutic diet (23) were indistinguishable from that produced by prolonged stimulation of adrenocorticotrophic hormone (ACTH) in stress (24). Selye and Stone suggested that this syndrome was caused by extensive demands on the adrenal cortex as a result of long-term or overstimulation by ACTH (25). Staining for adrenal cholesterol showed undetectable amounts in group 2 (
Fig. 1G), implying that less than 3 to 6 percent 7-hydroxycholesterol was present (26); the group deficient in vitamin A but with vitamin C replaced (Fig. 1H) and the control (Fig. 1F) group showed varied degrees of staining, an indication that 12 to 25 percent hydroxycholesterol and 40 to 50 percent total lipids were present. ACTH lowers adrenal cholesterol, and depletion occurs in long-term stimulation (27). Also, the decrease in adrenal cholesterol in scurvy is attributed to diminished acetylation in the body (28) with decreased acetate uptake and utilization by the adrenal (29). Vitamin A is nonessential for cholesterol biosynthesis (2, 30)." -
@Amazoniac
It is very interesting that Vitamin C ameliorates some of the issues of a Vitamin A deficiency, which implies that Vit. A deficiency causes oxidative stress in some way, which Vitamin C reverses. This hypothesis would be further validated if there were studies showing that other anti-oxidants like selenium or Vitamin E can do the same thing.Table 2 however shows that while Vitamin C restored 3bHSD and thus androstenedione concenctation, the Vitamin A deficient and VItamin C supplemented group 3, had a cortisol blood level that was more than 50% higher than group 1, which received Vitamin A. So the addition of Vitamin C seems to restore the steroid production, but move them more into a stress hormones state.
With that beeing said , it would be good to see how other hormones like pregnenolone, testosterone or prolactin change on those diets.

@Peatly said in Mild Vitamin A deficiency decreases DHEA and Pregnenolone by 40%:
Peat has a very old newsletter where he says that UV rays cause a film of free radicals on hair (and skin) that can persist for a few hours ,even after leaving the sun. Just a few seconds of red light will neutralize the free radicals.
