Bodybuilders looking old
-
Why do bodybuilders look older than other people?
Decrease in pregnenolone, progesterone, DHEA?
Muscle meat protein throwing off the balance of protein?
-
I don't think it's a fitness thing, just a steroid thing. Muscles built through steroid use have a certain very obvious unnatural look to them that does look like they are aged.
-
@Dibodibo I assumed it was a stress related symptom. That amount of training and supplements is to maximise muscle growth. This in conjunction with rapid fat gain and loss is Possibly the opposite of maximising energy production etc.
-
I can't prove it but it's probably a combination of genes and the drugs they take. There are people who are into bodybuilding, even some who do very mild cycles, who look normal, or even young for their age.
It's hard to find one who's blasting to the gills that doesn't look off though.
-
@Dibodibo they go out of their way to increase mTOR with frequent high protein meals.
Inhibiting mTOR via protein restriction or rapamycin has been shown to retard aging and increase life span by 25-40% in animal models.
-
@Mauritio Is there a thread on here with low-protein 'day of eating' examples? Low protein bioenergetic diet, is it just fruitarian?
-
Constantly shoving down protein is their problem
-
@Milk-Destroyer
On this thread we talk a little about possible diets and scenarios.
It's not just fruit, ice cream or potatoes are also relatively low protein/methionine. -
to me it seems obvious that it's just that Testosterone will act as a signal to build muscle
taking large amounts of exogenous Test will override your body's internal regulatory mechanisms and skip straight to "build more muscle"
so, even if you don't have the proper materials/hormones/whatever to maintain beauty, the "build muscle" signal is ever-present, consuming those resources. skin, tendons, bone, etc. are all made of protein.
probably there is some right way to do it, but it's probably difficult to really figure out. -
They all tend to take hgh as well I think which can’t be good
