Oral baking soda increased thyroid function in hypothyroid individuals with kidney disease by increasing blood levels of CO2.

CO2 has been shown to promote healing, circulation, and oxygenation of cells.

@Serotoninskeptic I would take it every day if it didn’t taste so disgusting, awful, what a shame

@Njegos I actually like the taste but I'm trying to figure out if I really need to take it. It does seem to help sleep quality.

I am really loving 1/2 tsp in water before bed thanks to anabology! I have a little grape juice first then the water to clean my teeth too.
But I want to try baking soda in a bathtub. Anyone have a recommendation for how much to put in a bath a warm/hot water for deep chill co2 baths?

@dapose i take 2.5g each night too, decent help for lightening pm stress & getting to sleep. high amounts cause gut irritation so i keep it there

u need a mild acid to react with the bicarb to create co2 for the bath , i used some malic acid
3grams of bicarb + 3.5grams of malic acid per L of water should max it out but that would be a lot for a full bath, so can just try warm water & mix in a couple tablespoons of each at a time until you see your skin turn pink

@Insomniac Well, sodium is a lighter element, so if we're taking about making a co2 bath then the difference in molar mass might start to become significant especially from a cost perspective over time.
