      @CrumblingCookie

In the bigger picture I am very certain that we are not amidst any eugenics programme.

Yes of course. It's a euthanasia program. Easy terms to mix up.

That said, to those who find themselves at the irreversible end of such willful malice,
or to those who find themselves at the end of otherwise greatly unfortunate fates...

This narrative is very useful for framing support for widespread euthanasia as loving and compassionate.

          I agree

Read the data on how it is done
          What it looks like
          The cost

          Brutal and or cruel…

          Mercy.

I agree with you there. It remains ambiguous.

I haven't looked into that tbh. Is it just "cold" or brutal in many more ways?
If it were me I certainly wouldn't want to have it in a specified medical setting. I had seen lots of possible ways in the early days of internet and would want to choose my own way and moment.

              Im no expert

              But
              I would say cruel

It’s “suffocation” in many places where it is legal

              Supposed to go fast
              Supposed to…
And yet many have needlessly suffered
              While family watched
Some wanting to reverse their decision

I feared it to be something along the line of ineffective executions of death penalty.

                    Bill passed
                    Shocker

Key points about the recent vote:

Result: The bill passed with 330 votes in favor and 275 against.

Significance: This is considered a historic moment as it is the furthest any assisted dying bill has progressed in the UK Parliament.

Next steps: The bill will now go through further scrutiny and potential amendments in the House of Commons and then the House of Lords.

Step 1: Terminally ill people should have the opportunity to end their suffering on a completely voluntary basis.
Step 2: See step 1, but terminally ill patients cost society a lot of money.
Step 3: Yes, we pay for your treatment, but there are easier ways to end your suffering.
Step 4: We don't pay for your treatment, but there is an alternative.
Step 5: Can you please finally kill yourself? You are a burden to society!
Step 6: We will kill you.

UK is now at step 1, Canada somewhere between 3 and 4. We'll see how far they go.
