Genuinely curious why you're dumb enough to uses phrases like "pro VA camp". It's a fundamental feature of life Greek.
Also genuinely curious why you're desperate for any explanation other than "I was stupid" to explain the remaining aspects of this you're clinging on to for dear life.
Actually though. It's probably a better idea for you and I to ask these important questions in your existing VA curiosity thread.
Hi, I suggest that this animosity is not legitimate, he has seen some temporary benefits in changing his diet, even if he also had negative symptoms that made him stop, it probably makes him question why

@Light I'm sorry I misinterpreted your comments. I wasn't trying to be confrontational or malicious.

I'm starting to think he's just an insane hypochondriac.
Or just has problems that cannot be remedied with diet and supplementation alone. Ray has often emphasised a stimulating life/environment as important factor in metabolic health. Charlie, even before the somewhat recent toxic bile/jihadi turn has always struck me as an isolated person bouncing from one cultish internet echo chamber to another, looking for an instant permanent fix to all his problems. I cannot imagine this kind of lifestyle can be compatible with health no matter how much you will deplete PUFA or whatever.

@C-Mex said in New "Mission" of RPF:
Why would Charlie insist on keeping Peat's name for his forum if he's totally abandoned every principle? If he was worried about losing his base he wouldn't be calling Dr. Peat's work 'toxic', knowing he would alienate many potential customers. Why insist on the obvious untruth that he's pushing an extension of Dr. Peat's work?
It might alienate those already deeply familiar with Dr. Peat's work, but people who just heard about "peating" on X or Mercola's podcast or wherever will be easily confused and misled.

Thanks for indulging me, and what you're saying does make sense.
However, I just look at the lengths they went through to set up Oswald and probably the other 'lone gunman' assassins but it is more about information control and discrediting/disrupting popular movements these days, and it would not defy belief to me that agents of the establishment are in and among the online community. Ray Peat's thoughts and research always challenged the system and we are in he midst of a particularly precarious popular movement at the moment IMO, that has a lot to do with questioning the established medical system (which as it turns out has more and more to do with the mainstream media and the military industrial complex than we knew) as it were. The idea that his work would be displaced by a self-proclaimed "Nutrition Detective" and 'expert on Vitamin A toxicity' by the RPF seems beyond ridiculous, but maybe I just have a suspicious mind of late.
As usual tactics, it could be a combination of purposeful agents along with some useful idiots, Pointing to Oswald and what is known about him -- the lengths they went to to set him up as a patsy probably years before the final plan was even conceived much less executed (read JFK and the Unspeakable for reference) I think it is possible that the death of Ray Peat provided an opportunity for those looking for a way to disrupt the movement and/or discredit him and disperse those following his work by using agents already established online and the patsies that follow them (no offense to anyone, lol). We know less and less about what goes on behind the scenes online and with AI in the present and in our future we have to be aware of the very real threats of online manipulation. Wasn't Charlie using chatGP to generate some messages? I just find it incredibly convenient to the establishment that RP's work is being questioned and even called 'toxic' by its some of its supposed foremost advocates at this particular point in history.
I’m inclined in this direction too. To add to this, there are threads on the RPF calling out the atrocities of covid. This includes threads documenting adverse events and deaths from the “vaccines.” Threads about the climate agendas and government conspiracies were an important source of information imo. How convenient that there is no one left on the forum who is motivated to keep those threads going. How convenient!!!

@Peatly Where are PerryStaltic and LeeLemonoil, do you happen to know? Does anyone know?
I was a very discrete member, but this whole thing saddens me to the core. And I'm not sure anyone has planted this division, I think anxious people under pressure make very bad calls. A mixture of paranoia and messianic megalomania can most certainly be driving this behaviour on its own.
-
@DonkeyDude No worries. Didn't want to derail the thread anymore, or be screenshot and dissected by the religious zealots.
-
Anyone notice the Magnesium Potassium spray Charlie uses (and probably got the recipe from Garrett) is called MAGA-Pot? It's magnesium and potassium. A more fitting name would be Mag-Pot but no. They had to make it political.
It's so bizarre how seemingly everyone in Garrett's circle is a right wing religious zealot. Even the testimonials from the diet all point to a specific lifestyle and worldview. "Women have healthy babies, men can work harder for their families."
If you're gonna try to make a buck pushing a certain diet and supplements, it's not wise to alienate those who don't subscribe to your limited worldview. It's just dumb business practice.
edit - on second thought, it's actually good business. It's a calculated move to niche down to a specific target audience. Assuming there are enough right wing Christians to buy your products. Maybe they're aiming to be the go-to health practitioners/ supplement providers for God's chosen people. -
@Light Yes your latter analysis is correct. It's a grift. You have right wing coffee, right wing candles nowadays. ''Support a Christian company" works as a grift

"Will of Europa" aka Garrett's FB admin, wrote on FB:
"We have a good thing going here, and a chance to correct the last 150 years of the rockefeller well poisoning operation and restore our people to our past quality... "
That's the difference between Ray Peat and these guys. Peat wanted to help ALL people. They want to help "their" people.
Intolerance and hatred of the "other" = self aggrandizement and ego identity = suboptimal physiology

@DonkeyDude Yeah makes sense. That is the paradoxical nature to forums regarding one's health I suppose. The least active members tend to be the healthiest people because they're all out enjoying life. While the members frequently posting typically always has a new problem arise. I don't anything about Charlie's personal life, but he strikes me as the type of person with huge social void. A void he's attempting to fill with religious extremism by the looks of it. I mean, dude literally banned a guy for using the word "god" and not "God." It's so weird he's a MAGA bro. Because he follows the behavioral profile of one of the "safe space trigger warning" progressives. I just hope he doesn't end up seriously wrecking anyone's health. I already saw where some guy was posting a thread about him and his girlfriend doing a vit A detox, and like his girlfriend started getting vision problems (retinoic acid is important for eye health).
-
@Mulloch94 On a slightly different note, I was using a different username on RPF (it was Jessie), and I never held back at how insane I thought the toxin A stuff was, and I was surprised I was never banned actually. But it was before Charlie went full-blown gestapo. I don't have a problem with Grant, but I didn't hold back letting people know I thought it was weird. I mean this guy is a engineer, he isn't a medical doctor, physiologist, biologist, endocrinologist or anything even remotely qualifiable. That doesn't mean he can't be right about some things, you have to be somewhat intelligent to be an engineer, but dude is out of his element here. And if what he did improved his health then good for him. But as far as I'm concerned it's one BIG anecdote and nothing more. Me personally, this fad seems like one of the more quicker ways to sabotage certain bodily processes. It's unique in how it targets a specifically known-to-be essential vitamin for removal. Whereas other alternative approaches like plant based, keto, paleo, whatever target certain food groups for removal, but continue to emphasize filling nutritional requirements from alternative food choices.

@GreekDemiGod well, this sounds similar to the well known PTH / Calcium balance.
When dietary calcium gets restricted, PTH elevates to signal a shortage of calcium, so the body responds by dumping calcium into the blood stream so the most vital tissues can preferentially access it, like the heart tissues. This paradoxically retards calcium metabolism in the cells, too. You can begin seeing soft-tissue calcification. This can be reversed thru restoring addequate dietary calcium.
The fact that the body Really Wants to maintain vitamin A tissue levels somewhere in the body by dumping it in to the blood stream when it notices a dietary shortage, is telling IMO. It tells me that somewhere the pregnenolone production is so important that VA sitting around in tissue storage micro-producing prog and preg for total system health, is less important than, say, in the heart. Do other toxins start dumping into the blood stream when you stop eating them? I've only known of toxin dumping when killing off bacteria.
Coincidentally, the positive effects that the anti-VA crowd is experiencing sounds like text book Growth Hormone therapy, and the results from babies on anti-VA diets concerningly confirms that suspicion (growing abnormally big, up to 98-99th percentile of height for their age category).
https://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/healthy-aging/in-depth/growth-hormone/art-20045735So, when the body's production of preg and prog is low enough from VA depletion, it increases GH production for survival?
PS, just so everyone's clear, Ray Peat hates Growth Hormone.
https://raypeat.com/articles/articles/growth-hormone.shtmlUnfortunately, no actual scientists are wasting their time entertaining this silly stuff - look at what happens to Georgi when he critiques a very study that Garrett and Charlie post as an anti-VA gotcha!!

@AltarandThrone Eureka! I was in a quandary about the body "dumping" A and this seems to be a rational explanation. You also make some good points about excessive amounts of growth hormone "for survival." RP 101, estrogen and growth hormone can be catalysts for cancer in high enough amounts. I found research showing that A is needed to detoxify excessive estrogen. I kept telling Charlie that it will be interesting to see how many of the TRUE low A people eventually end up with it.
I say TRUE A people. I mean how long can a person eat maybe 15 or 20 boring foods every day. I suspect some are still eating ice cream.

I totally agree with the below.... there are so many disinfo agents that I so wonder how many "employees" the DS employs!
One big item that is bugging me (among so many) is that there is no toxic-bile theory, it is solely an individual's hypothesis. There is not a lot of science backing it up, and in order to be a "Scientific Theory" there must be heaps of data, reproducible experiments, and numbers that prove the concept. Maybe I am missing something, but.... I don't really care tooo much as the hijacking of the RPF is just heinous. I received my first weekly email from Low-Toxin Lifestyle today, and ..... so disgusting. Lion-wannabe-person is truly making an authoritarian silo, capable of capturing a few new souls, whilst alienating the longer term participants.
Many thanks that this site exists!

Ah yes, it all makes sense now. The 'Great Renewal' he talks about is a euphemism for the firing up of the MAGA juggernaut, here's his opportunity to get on the gravy train and sell the health world's answer to tacky political merchandise to it's followers.
Expect the slander of any competitor's products to continue. I fully expect him to escalate attacks on anything Idealabs sell, in his typically underhanded way of course.

@oldchem @C-Mex good comments, I will add for anyone who doesn’t know, Garrett Smith was promoting himself on Matt Stone’s 180 degree health blog as far back as 2012-2013 and they also wrote a paleo book together. This is what Matt does - he makes a 6 figures monthly income churning out books under his name as well as the pseudonym “Buck Flogging”. With his business books it’s clear he has complete disdain for his audience and literally teaches others how to rip people off with shady marketing tactics. He admitted on YouTube recently that his health advice like “eat for heat” was all wrong but he won’t pull those books from the market. Total lack of ethics.
Garrett’s Toxic bile/low vitamin A grift seems to have got its start on Matt’s blog in 2018: https://180degreehealth.com/vitamin-depletion-discussion-dr-garrett-smith/ Apparently Matt’s been on it since that time and if you want to see how well it’s working look up his YouTube video (not a great advertisement for Garrett, haha). I couldn’t believe it was the same person.
This is Matt’s diet now: “I’d prefer my diet to be full of potatoes and turnips and white asparagus and pears and such. But it’s mostly chicken, beef, pasta, rice, white bread, Gatorade, and store-bought cookies, lol.”
These two are peas in a pod grifters and it’s ABSURD that Garrett an obvious charlatan would be held in higher account than Ray himself on Ray Peat Forum! Is it because charlie/christ lady/blossom are MAGA people that they can’t see it?
