I suspect that he has Georgi's permission. Georgi can stop being interviewed if he does not like it. Mercola would not do that until he has pumped the well dry.

In trying to connect the dots, I am thinking that this downtime is related to the recent sudden reversal of the usefulness of niacin by the forum's guiding star. The site will be down until Charlie and his team think the turmoil has ended.
