@pilky it's caused by adrenaline. Either from a gut disorder or from hypothyroidism. Hypothyroidism can cause gut problems too though.
What is your pulse and temperature?
@skywxlker said in Which antibiotics for gut issues and chronic fatigue?:
amox in higher doses.
Ray warned against that one. There was some correspondence between him and someone posted on the retard forum, he linked to a study where it caused liver failure in some people, I think it was older people though. Doxy and minocycline and penicillin VK are safer bets.
What are you all your symptoms? is it an IBS type of deal?
look on t3maxxi's twitter for photos of thyroid restoring hair

@anabology a big dose of t3 can stop a lot of bad things. I've gotten rid of extremely bad internal hemorrhoids using decent amounts of t3 for a few days. Worth it even though it causes fatigue.
Anybody got any links to Ray's comments on either Stalin or Lysenko? I don't have all of his newsletters.
@honest_skeptic said in Is Ray Peat Legit? My thoughts::
From what I've gathered, Ray Peat is probably not a legitimate scientist.
Well. Ray never even considered himself to be a scientist when asked about it. He said he regarded himself as a critic,
In general, if you wonder if someone making scientific claims is legit, you should look for a publication record
Not sure why you believe this. Publications in 'credible journals' don't guarantee anything.
Peer review only came into widespread use in the journals during the 1970's. It's a fake stamp of approval of so people don't have to critically assess or think about a paper when they are reading it.
Ray circumvented the cesspit that is the scientific culture because he wasn't particularly interested in trying to change it or gain their respect. He was appealing to everyone in the public who was open to it. He wanted a society where people knew how to fix their own problems rather than a society where the empty headed citizens submit to some medical/scientific elite who try and impress with their credentials and list of publications in supposedly prestigious science bibles.
You aren't assessing any of his ideas on their merits.

I can't remember the others, I'll post if I do. There's always Roddy as well, if you don't mind over the phone/internet.
There are a couple but I wouldn't bother with them. The problem with many of the Peat-inspired practitioners is that they are only using diet and maybe a few supplements that don't offend the authorities so much. Owing to the potential loss of their accreditation as licenses dieticians or fitness instructors (or simply because they have no experience with it) they can't help you with things like thyroid, if that's what you need.
You're better off learning how to rely on yourself, reading as much as you can at your own pace and asking questions from people who seem helpful.
Your choice though of course.
*A deficiency of taurine -- a nutrient produced in the body and found in many foods -- is a driver of aging in animals, according to a new study led by Columbia researchers and involving dozens of aging researchers around the world.
The same study also found that taurine supplements can slow down the aging process in worms, mice, and monkeys and can even extend the healthy lifespans of middle-aged mice by up to 12%.
The study was published June 8 in Science.
"For the last 25 years, scientists have been trying to find factors that not only let us live longer, but also increase healthspan, the time we remain healthy in our old age," says the study's leader, Vijay Yadav, PhD, assistant professor of genetics & development at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons.
"This study suggests that taurine could be an elixir of life within us that helps us live longer and healthier lives."

Someone close to me is a migraine-r. It usually begins with intestinal problems for her, which is a clue I think that it is starting with massive intestinal inflammation. A decent dose of minocycline (200mg) combined with 2mg of cyproheptadine usually knocks it out for her and spares her two days of agony.
My mother also had migraines for years while she was going through menopause, so probably an estrogen thing there.
I think migraines are always a metabolic problem, you just have to find out which pathway it's happening along. Ray said he got his under control just eating a carrot everyday.
Progesterone, thyroid, lisuride, metergoline, cyproheptadine, carrots for for the fibre, cascara and anything strongly anti inflammatory like aspirin and minocycline are things you could experiment with.
