@evan-hinkle They're desperate to see some change and feel a lot of self hatred because of the extra weight. I suggest slow but I wonder if its better to lose a lot fast just to feel better about their self image

Losing weight as fast as possible
Suppose someone is 30lb overweight and they're desperate to lose weight. What do you take and how do you eat to lose it? Ray's suggested keeping minerals up while eating very little but I've never tried it myself.

RE: Raw vs pasteurized milk?
@Santosh Hm I've never noticed this, although I do get allergic symptom if I drink a lot of generic brand milk. But I haven't noticed much different between local raw vs pasteurized. I wonder if skimming the raw milk would make much difference.

Raw vs pasteurized milk?
I like both but Ray's said that there's not much difference. There are lots of people saying that pasteurization destroys a lot of the nutritional value of milk up to 70% of some vitamins. Although Ray claims the short pasteurization process only reduces them like 3-4% and that nothing is oxidized.
I mainly drink pasteurized just because at half a gallon a day full raw milk is too fattening and some people keep telling me I'll get sick from it raw. Curious if anyone's noticed any big difference.

RE: Anyone with Ehlers Danlos and chronic pain flare ups find a solution?
Do you think she should take citrus pectin? It's been a week using thiamine and she's not feeling any better, maybe worse actually? Although I made a salve of progesterone and dhea which actually works pretty well. I've been thinking high doses of aspirin + k2 could be useful too

RE: Anyone with Ehlers Danlos and chronic pain flare ups find a solution?
Well, doesn't seem like the B1/Thiamine does much. Shes tried it for a bit, maybe it's best to explore a b complex. Also she got immediately worse after low dose naltrexone so she's pretty unwilling to go through with it.
Maybe a high dose of daily aspirin/k2 is a good idea? -
RE: Thyroid, cholesterol, muscle growth
@temple-of-salt I think this is very individual. I eat almost not cholesterol and my levels are still around 300. Getting the thyroid right is the main thing unless your have a nutritionally poor diet.

How to make a good multivitamin at home?
I don't like over the counter available multivitamins. I want something that's maybe just b1,b2,b6,b12 d3+k2 in good ratios. Also maybe some vitamin e and pregnenelone.
Anyone know if just dumping the water soluble ones in ethanol is fine or can maybe everything be combined into gelatin gummies including the fat soluble d and k?

What sunscreen do you use?
I've tried the zinc oxide ones but it looks too pasty for daily use. Alternatively any recipes for at home sunscreen?

RE: Exogenous Allopregnanolone
@bluebloodmed I'm curious too. I haven't felt it personally but I haven't taken it daily.

RE: My fiancé wants to stop her menstrual cycle without hormonal BC
I'm interested too, does anyone know if a daily dose of progest-e would do this similar to progestin BC?

RE: Can you become dependent or addicted to progesterone/allopregnanolone?
@notmcas taking it for pain relief mainly. I’m curious if it will cause withdrawal pain if overused
-
RE: Can you become dependent or addicted to progesterone/allopregnanolone?
@deliciousowl I think allopregnanolone would be far more addictive though, thanks to it being a strong gaba agonist?

RE: Polycystic Kidney Disease
Is the vitamin d 50ng/dl or higher, and are you getting enough calcium relative to phosphate? Ray has mentioned that many kidney issues get better with supplementation.

Topical and sublingual use of vitamins
I know that the fat soluble vitamins can be used topically, albeit at low abortion rates to avoid having to possibly irritate the intestines but what about the b vitamins and minerals(epsom salts work)?
Is DMSO or ethanol an adequate carrier for things like B1, B2, B6, B12, etc or is taking orally or by injection necessary? Say dissolving something like B2 in a bit of ethanol and using those drops under the tongue or on the gums?
For the fat soluble vitamins I've tried alone or with an olive oil or vitamin e spread and it seems to work fine. Minerals like magnesium seem to also be bioavailable in baths or oils.

Can you become dependent or addicted to progesterone/allopregnanolone?
Progesterone and its metabolite allopregnanolone, act as strong GABA agonists. For people who need to use it for pain relief is it better to use intermittently(especially allo) or is that something that can be used every day without creating addiction or withdrawal similar to painkillers?
For example could someone theoretically replace their use of opiates or barbiturates with progesterone/allopregnanolone daily to normalize or would it have to also be used sparingly to prevent the body from becoming resistant?

RE: Anyone with Ehlers Danlos and chronic pain flare ups find a solution?
@mostlylurking got it, I agree with this but the SNRI was really helping her a lot for a time. Actually I do think Ray meantioned that while harmful SSRI drugs can actually deplete serotonin to some extent contributing to its benefits. I hope now she has reason to get off it at least, and I was looking at that unique-e. Do you like the softgels or topical in oil? Ray's said that it can be a good anesthetic by reducing inflammation.

RE: Anyone with Ehlers Danlos and chronic pain flare ups find a solution?
@notmcas okay thanks so much I’m hopeful. I’m really perplexed by the crazy low serotonin levels. I mean she does pretty well in Cyproheptadine so I was thinking maybe it’s blocking the effects of serotonin. Maybe the brain tissue is saturated so the snri keeps the blood level low. It’s definitely strange but we already ordered some thiamine at least. Her doctor wanted her to take serotonin as 5htp but I’ve been steering her away from it with fear that it makes things so much worse

RE: Anyone with Ehlers Danlos and chronic pain flare ups find a solution?
@mostlylurking I'm already trying to get in contact with a functional doctor. But my girlfriend feels in a pretty bad state right now. She normally takes an SNRI that keeps her body pain tolerable but it seems like it's not working well anymore, I'm not sure if it's adrenal fatigue or something like that, her serotonin on a blood test is basically zero. I wanted to know out of the supplements which one made a quick difference for you to feel less body pain and flare ups, the high dose thiamine?

RE: Anyone with Ehlers Danlos and chronic pain flare ups find a solution?
@mostlylurking I’m okay to take it indefinitely, my only worry is that I’ll only get it prescribed once it hits over 4.5 tsh. Mines just under 3 and rising every half year. I’m very responsive to food though, I’ll go from 96.8 to 98.6 with a sweet meal, when I tried an online ndt it was more normalized but I don’t trust the product. I’ll discuss with a functional doctor. I actually know quite a few people with diagnosed hashimotos who’re only given something like 25mcg of levothyroxine… and obviously continue to have bad hypo symptoms. I suggest they ask for ndt but most people seem to thing nothing would work of the levo doesn’t
