@Andreas Put in any vaccine of your choice in the search engine on VigiAccess and look at the reported side effects. No vaccine is safe. I also believe they are unnecessary.

RE: Female Peaters
Ray Peat wrote a book called Nutrition For Men. Oh wait, no, it wasn’t called that.......it was called..........it was.....can’t think of it right now but I’m sure it will come to me very soon. I’ll take some thiamine - that should help me remember. I’ll be back!

RE: New "Mission" of RPF
If the Japanese are getting approximately 500mg/day of calcium, that could explain the increase in hip fractures.
Dr. Peat talks about the fraud of fructose studies in this interview - discussion starts around 1:10mins

RE: Is a no starch diet sustainable?
I think it’s sustainable if you have access to good quality fruits and live in a sunny region.

RE: My brother is fainting - help appreciated !
@Harlock Low sodium can cause low blood pressure which can cause fainting. Low blood sugar can do the same.
Might be a good idea to see a doctor just to run some basic tests.

RE: My brother is fainting - help appreciated !
Have you tried replacing the salt he lost during his illness? Check his blood pressure.

RE: Can you become dependent or addicted to progesterone/allopregnanolone?
According to Dr. Peat supplementing progesterone enables the body to regain its ability to produce more progesterone. This means there is no need to take it continuously. He adds, “but if there is a progesterone deficiency, something has caused that deficiency, and it is important to find out what the basic problem is. A diet that is deficient in high quality protein, or that contains natural food toxicants, often is responsible for a progesterone deficiency. If your diet is killing you, supplementing progesterone is of limited value.”
Regarding Pregnenolone he said, “being less fat soluble than cholesterol, pregnenolone leavesthe mitochondrion, so it tends not to inhibit its own synthesis.”
“The fact that progesterone (and probably pregnenolone) stimulates its own synthesis means that taking it does not suppress the body's ability to synthesize it, as happens with cortisol. Sometimes, one dose or a few doses can restore the body's ability to produce enough of its own.”
Young people don’t tend to get much benefit from supplementing pregnenolone because they can produce ample amounts. But if you do, you won’t inhibit your own production but you may end up needing much more nutrients.

Excellent post @JulofEnoch one thing I would reconsider is Levofloxacin. It’s not a safe antibiotic

@Peatly I mean this, that Dr. Peat talked about restricting methionine a bit, but he promoted dairy and ate that a lot himself, which is higher in methionine and he never advocated a plant based diet primarily.
I have found that many times, wounds can turn into cancer sites. I have found this through listening to many people’s account of getting cancer, and in some cases, an injury or wound preceded the cancer. I don’t know if that’s what Dr. Peat meant, but it is something I observe quite often.
Yes, Dr. Peat did drink a lot of milk but he restricted his meat consumption for more gelatinous cuts. I think he would say that the calcium in milk was protective as inadequate calcium intake is a risk factor for some types of cancers.
The thing about wounds that turn into cancer, can we be sure that they were really cancer? In one interview he said benign tumours were being reclassified as cancer. So, what was just a harmless lump, 50 years ago, is now cancer.
“An article in JAMA about 40 years ago looked at the evidence of how the pathology methods of analyzing the properties of the cytoplasm nucleus ratio and the matter of disorganization and invasion and so on and in this article it was demonstrated that a healing wound if it's biopsied will show all of the properties that are used by the pathologist to identify cancer so that what is defined as cancer has become more inclusive and if you happen to have an injury that gets biopsied it'll be called cancer because it has the properties of of rapid growth uh invasive appearance and so on.” Ray Peat

@eugene fasting by stopping the consumption of food can be useful so long as you consume salty coconut water and fruit juice to preserve electrolytes and lower cortisol somewhat. And I wouldn’t do it more than 36 hours at a time.
It has one benefit, which is lowering endotoxins.
I think a diet primarily consisting of non-animal protein is very important. Keeping methionine below 1g per day is useful to stop cancer from spreading.
I think Dr. Peat never explored methionine to a great degree, at least I never heard him talk much about it, but methionine from animal protein is a factor that limits life and that promotes cancer. It is why a keto diet is a bad bad idea in cancer.
On the contrary - he talked about limiting methionine quite a lot in interviews.

https://raypeat2.com/articles/articles/gelatin.shtml
"It happens that gelatin is a protein which contains no tryptophan, and only small amounts of cysteine, methionine, and histidine. Using gelatin as a major dietary protein is an easy way to restrict the amino acids that are associated with many of the problems of aging."
Dr. Peat said;
"Any stage of healing wound can be identical to cancer. "https://bioenergetic.life/clips/d96b2?t=4352&c=92
I wonder what this means for the diagnosis of cancer? Is it a healing wound or is it cancer?

RE: Dental X Rays
X-rays may not be necessary in this instance. For the receding gums, try rinsing with sodium bicarbonate after eating, and especially after drinking anything acidic. Improving diet, getting enough calcium and other alkalising minerals, vitamin K. Not brushing too hard, or with commercial tooth paste, should also help receding gums.
For teeth grinding, Dr. Peat said it was related to high gut serotonin.
Extract from Kmud-141017-longevity interview
RP: There are several publications showing that high serotonin is probably the major thing in tooth grinding and probably also in restless leg syndrome where the legs turn during the night.
KMUD: And to lower high serotonin, what would be the most straightforward way of lowering serotonin in someone?
RP: Reducing intestinal inflammation is the quickest way. Low thyroid is probably a factor in high serotonin, but simply avoiding slowly digested foods like resistant starches, under cooked vegetables, salads are very bad for irritating the intestine and producing…
KMUD: So, cascara would be pretty beneficial for improving bowel motility and excretion?
RP:Yeah, and some of the so-called soluble fibers, even pectin, for example, fruit, can greatly increase the production of serotonin and disturb the sleep.

@Peatly Interesting article, thanks for posting. That photo of the person's thumb touching their wrist area brought back memories; I was like that when I was younger. I'm healthier now since I addressed my estrogen dominance and my hypothyroidism and my need for more thiamine, etc. I tried to see if I could still touch my wrist with my thumb; not even close.
Good to know this can be reversed. That thumb to wrist move used to be a fun party trick now it’s not so funny.
Your posts are helpful, here and the RPF, thank you.

@mostlylurking she’s gotten the first vaccine, and I’ll just say it did not go well. I didn’t get it but schools were forcing it and all that. She’s never gotten silver fillings as far as she knows.
I’m in MA. I will try that approach, hopefully they’ll at least let me try some. I tried with thyroid online doctors and they refused under 5tsh too. I’ve actually felt pretty good on some NDT I ordered but I just don’t trust those non prescription products to be good.
I came across this article recently.

RE: Scar Healing
@Brandon The study used high dose vitamin D injection of 200, 000 iu (see quote below). I think it's possible that some of the vitamin D had systemic effects which would raise blood vitamin D levels. Vitamin D deficiency does seem to predispose some people to forming keloids. I think the only way to find out if topical will be effect is to try it. Meanwhile it might be useful to have your blood levels checked.
"Cleaning the site of injection by alcohol pad, no need for anesthesia
(topical or injection), intralesional injection of vitamin D3
(200,000 IU) with dose of 0.2 ml per 1 cm using a one-ml
U-100
insulin syringe, and gentle pressure at the site of injection was done
to minimize pain. The sessions were done every week for a maximum
of 3–4
sessions."Haidut article on the topic

Once the keloid is formed it could prove difficult to remove but not impossible. Try topical vitamin D, massage, vitamin E (only good quality E)

Dr Ray Peat said
“Fibrotic tissue can be repaired, and the essential thing is to interrupt the processes that caused it to develop. I have written previously about the effects of vitamin E, progesterone, and DHEA on scars, keloids, scleroderma, arthritis, and liver cirrhosis, but there are many helpful therapies. Saturated fats are extremely important in the reversal of fibrosis. Recently, it has been found that just covering a keloid with a layer of silicone causes it to regress to some extent. I think the sealant allows carbon dioxide to accumulate, shifting the balance away from growth and toward shrinkage of the collagenous mass.” Ray Peat Newsletter Estrogen, Aging, Radiation, Migraine & Energy October 2000
“In Mexico recently, a friend found that applying DHEA in vitamin E to a very big, red keloid tumor caused it to quickly fade and shrink. As I was driving home, I applied a little of the same solution to one of the mole on my temple.” Ray Peat Moles, DHEA, Etc
Ray on how to avoid scarring during healing
“Things to keep the free fatty acid low so that you use your glucose as efficiently as possible to produce anti-inflammatory things like CO2. And aspirin and niacinamide, for example, are anti-inflammatory things that reduce the disorganising kind of scar tissue and promote maximum quality healing with a minimum of excess random collagen deposition.”
“And vitamin D and vitamin K are very important. Getting enough calcium in your diet with vitamin D so that you keep your parathyroid hormone suppressed to keep the tissue energy high, including salt in your diet to keep the aldosterone to a minimum because aldosterone promotes disorganized collagen healing and fibrosis. So some unexpected things, sodium and calcium in the diet are protective to the healing of connective tissue.”
“Well, good scar tissue is fine, but the worse your metabolism is, the more disorganized the scar tissue is so that a keloid, for example, is terrible scar tissue, very disorganized because of polyunsaturated fats in your circulation, disorganizing the healing. A baby in utero with no essential fatty acids in circulation and plenty of carbon dioxide will heal without any disorganized structures.”
