RE: How do I get thin again, Peating fixed my health but made me put on a lot of fat
@CO3 the point is that you don't get the other fats of the coconut oil, it's concentrated. I get your point, you shouldn't just buy every supplement. For fighting candida it has been shown that it is more effective than just coconut oil, so that's why I use it over just coconut oil. By using mct oil that contains c8 and c10, you can avoid c12 which has an adverse effect on fighting candida.

RE: How do I get thin again, Peating fixed my health but made me put on a lot of fat
@CO3 Nothing to imagine there, since he doesn't say what you attributed to him. The fact that it could be irritating to the intestine doesn't mean it doesn't work, they're still medium and short chain fatty acids which he wrote about. Since it could be irritating, you should get some food with it, that's all he said in that clip. If you have more evidence of Ray stating it doesn't work, I would like to hear or read it.

RE: Unpleasant experience on thyroid
@DonkeyDude yes you should not 'play' with it too much. But if it doesn't change after a month or so, it could be just that you're dosing too low.

RE: Unpleasant experience on thyroid
@DonkeyDude Hope so as well. You could spread out your thyroid intake more, so that your t3 is higher all day long. Or you could up your dosage a tiny bit to see if things work better that way.

@CO3 that is not what he said at all. What he said was that you can prevent stomach irritation if you take it with other foods. That doesn't say anything about how effective mct oil is. I can digest mct oil just fine and don't experience any adverse effects on an empty stomach.

@thyroidchor27 I don't know if it is for fat loss purposes, I would imagine so. I use it for fighting candida. If you read ray's article on coconut oil, he talks about the medium chain and short chain properties of coconot oil, which is the mct oil (c8 and c10). In my experience it works just fine for reducing inflammationi and fat loss, but could also be the other things I'm doing.

@thyroidchor27 sounds good. You could also consider taurine for better fat digestion. The niacinamide should be 4 times a day 30 to 50mg, according to Peat on a youtube segment. I notice I do better when I take enough zinc, I use zinc gluconate. I think getting some taurine while cutting back on the fat a bit is the way to go. I also like vitamin b1 (HCL), and mct oil (c8/c10) for overall energy and metabolism

RE: How do I get thin again, Peating fixed my health but made me put on a lot of fat
@thyroidchor27 Do you take thyroid? It can take a while for your thyroid function to improve, but you'll want to lose the weight slow and steady for it to be a permanent change. I suggest safe heavy lifting, focus explosive movements, but not stress your body too much. You could also reduce inflammation by taking aspirin and/or focus of batteling water retention by upping you dopamine (which lowers prolactin). You'll need to rediscover how much food you really need for proper function, if you're not losing weight you probably eat too much and just cutting back a few hundred calories a day will make you lose the weight slowely while not getting a stress response from starving yourself.
edit: I see you take thyroid. It is important you take your thyroid 30 mins away from consuming coffee, because coffee will inhibit thyroid absorption. After I stopped doing this, I lost more weight at a faster pace. I would say focus on moving more, will make you feel better as well.

RE: Discipline is not a choice. The universe chose some to win and others to be supporting players.
I would say you'll have to be 'affraid' of not doing something, instead of having the discipline to do it. You will face times when you'll lack the energetic spirit and only the fear not achieving something/letting yourself down will be enough. Discipline is not just doing something you don't want to do, it's taking the measures that are needed, but at some point you will have to see that not doing it is in fact the worse option. You can't be occupied by things you don't want to do all day, you'll need things that just need to be done and you don't want to think about 'wanting or not wanting'. The correct way of looking at it is one of need and fear, not one of wanting/not wanting. You don't serve your future self by thinking hedonisticly in the present. You are a community of selves spread out across time. You'll need to form an ideal and behave towards it, then no 'discipline' is needed, because you'll know its importance and are terrified of not getting there/letting yourself down. Formulating your ideal is the most important step, few people actively do this. Why would you want to punish yourself with, for example, waking up early for is own sake, when you can wake up early for serving something you really admire/want. You'll decide who you want to be, your actions will show how serious you actually take it.

RE: Unpleasant experience on thyroid
I've experienced the same thing while taking NDT, goes away after some time. I can't find it rn but I've heard an interview with ray about it and he said, if I remember correctly, that your body has been running on stress hormones for so long, that it has to switch to it's proper function. The switch from running on cortisol for too long to running on thyroid can take a while and your body needs to adjust. After a few weeks the symptoms went away. I use 60mg ndt every day at 8 AM, 4 PM, 11:30PM. The point is that it goes away, it's just your body switching gears.
Edit: I would add that drinking a lot of coffee with sugar and cream helped me a lot, but don't go too nuts with the cream obviously. + make sure you take the ndt at least 30 mins away from consuming coffee, it inhibits the absorption of the hormones.

RE: White tongue
I've seb derm on my scalp and a white tongue. It seems to get worse when sleep is off. The remedies I've come across recently are: chewing clove, tongue scraping, MCT/coconut oil pulling/eating, anti candida supplements with loads of herbs like oregano etc, proper hygiene in general and avoiding starches. I notice some improvement with MCT oil, but will report back when I've tried it for a longer period of time.

RE: How do I get thin again, Peating fixed my health but made me put on a lot of fat
I've struggled with gaining weight while peating. In the beginning you just get too excited about eating sugar and eating more. I've cut back on calories, started taking NDT and began lifting more often while walking 10k steps every day. I am losing weight now for almost three months, while getting stronger. I've cut back on fat and starches, since I found I could easily overeat potatoes fried in butter. I've started to eat greek yogurt and cottage cheese for protein and feel great on it. I drink skimmed milk, OJ and coffee with sugar and (some) cream. You just need to eat untill you're full, while not overdoing it. Hopes this helps.
