Tracking down the mysterious cause of Dr. Paul Saladino's shockingly rapid aging
-
Carnivore haters say he's aging due to "glycation" caused by the carbs, specially fructose. Others will say he's been surfing like 3 hours per day under the Sun which, amplified by the sea water, will cause aging. And finally, others will say he's not aging abnormally. I don't have a veredicto...

update:
This is a quote from a 1% redditor Mod CT-7567_R a year back on the topic of Paul's rapid aging. It’s not the sun (at least now). He surfs at 6am and wears sunscreen, he made an episode on this and tallow alone is an SPF4. He also wears big hats when out in mid day. It could be the salt drying out his skin? Although I’d imagine the tallow based sunscreen would offer a layer of protection.
So he is not! outside cooking his skin all day.
update:
I am not able to build a case for "the salt drying out his skin" doing so much damage. But the whole post was well thought out. I'll include it.Nutritional issues mentioned by members as possible factors:
excessive protein
excessive methionine
too much sugarRandom lifestyle:
Excess Sun (but not really, he's cautious)
Excessively lean (about 10% BF. He is quite lean)
Salt DamageUnknown factors with no evidence:
Chemicals/Hormones -

Anyone notice that he’s aged rapidly since incorporating tons of fruit and honey in his diet??? I wonder if this is just natural aging due to time passing by. Or maybe it’s the sun exposure from where he lives now. Part of me also wonders if the diet change may have sped things up. The changes in his face seem to have happened really fast within a short timeframe. I hope this doesn’t come across as mean spirited. It’s a genuine observation and it just makes me wonder.

@Insomniac you think being neurotic about foods and jumping from promotion of one dietary trend to another is optimal? I heard about a girl at an anorexia clinic who the doctors finally got eating oatmeal and then she quit it after watching one of his videos. lots of foods have issues that it's good to talk about but guys like this do so much harm. how many people did he get onto carnivore before he realized it sucks?
-
He may have private health issues. Otherwise I think low carb is insane which he is iirc.
-
He’s pretty dang lean and sun baked

No it's not. I could have sworn I've heard him use that word. I'm changing it.
All good points. His judgement is questionable.

I have a hard time understanding how an MD with a good understanding of human physiology and the desire to live his life on camera giving health advice would knowingly do this to his own face.
A health issue could explain things.

I don't think he looks much worse. Also, one video is taken with a crappy laptop webcam or a smartphone camera which masks and softens facial features while the other video is taken with a high quality camera.

Idk man, these people are sort of "influencers" or celebrities, I don't take everything they say 100%. A good bit of it is just content and dramatization of real life. Not saying he's a liar but he's a personality.
Sun damage is real so yeah, that's probably part of it. But isn't he pretty new to the Peat side of things? Peat is a major revelation for all health perspectives. If he was on different diets and strict protocols he's probably biologically stressed. Maybe also being a bit famous is actually stressing?

So the only explanation remaining is that he has contracted some terrible affliction. And if he's reading this post, this is about love over here at the bioenergetic forum. We are looking for a cure to your rapid aging disease so please don't sue (as he is allegedly prone to do).
He's a smart guy, nothing against him - he seems honest. But, is he not low or no-carb? This would seem to be a major problem.

Well people can look for other photos but if you're going to be completely fair then you have to mention the first video was before they had filters. Dave Asprey's set would have professional lighting and filters which means he looks worse in real life.
-
It's possible he didn't look great years ago, and the camera and makeup / filters has created the idea that he was aging very slowly.
-
You're trolling hard.. lmao.
Maybe the guy likes the old nose candy.
That tends to age people pretty fast and they get wrinkly faces and lose weight. -
@Insomniac kek
-
That’s definitely the typical sun damaged looks.
Also, I think he doesn’t have a wife. What is a 47 year old man doing being single and leading a loner life without purpose? -
