Nasal congestion remedies
-
Nasal congestion is often a gut issue. So anything that helps heal the gut, should be of benefit.
- collagen
- spirulina
- raw honey
- vitamin A
- full fat dairy
- egg yolks
- colostrum
...the list goes on

I’ve had success with nasal irrigation with colloidal silver. I tend to think nasal congestion is the body reacting to sinus microorganisms and releasing nitric oxide.
-
@Uroš I second this. My nasal congestion has always been a symptom of gut irritation. Cypro, Benadryl, glycine, making homemade jello all help tremendously. Sounds like raising CO2 worked for you, (aspirin, oj, baking soda). Maybe try bag breathing as well?

Do you ever consume products containing manufactured citric acid? Energy drinks, candy, and a whole array of other products.
-
@CO3 Not regularly. On rare occasion I might have a soda or juice drink with citric acid. I've never noticed any obvious issues after consuming but I do my best to avoid.
-
@evan-hinkle @Uroš I've been gelatin-maxxing with homemade oxtail broth and jello today so hopefully this helps.
-
@PrinceMyshkin Avoid it completely, it causes nasal congestion for me and since I haven't consumed it I've never had nasal congestion besides when i have a flu or cold
-
@CO3 You say manufactured citric acid. So things made with lemon juice concentrate instead should be fine?
-
@pittybitty Exactly! What's labelled misleadingly as 'citric acid' is using the chemical name of this type of acid, which they make by removing it from a toxic black mold. The process, however, causes it to e highly polluted and retain some f the toxic molecules - or rather, parts thereof - making it very allergenic for people. Higher quality marmelade for example uses lemon juice.
-
@CO3 I will definitely investigate this. Citric acid is in almost everything, including my favorite drink.
