@wester130 maybe you should try ammonia detox with calcium alpha keto glutarate and Ornithine

this feels like a deep set problem in my body, like something is totally failing, like my adrenal gland

Yep, good point. Treat emodin as a temporary fix/mitigation, when you will continue to work on your general health and well-being...

These two products you suggested had too much shitty preservatives inside, etc.

I use this one below in tiny doses - I open the capsule and use only about 1/10 or 1/5 at once. You will need to experiment with your optimal dosage. Too much may make you run to the toilet 😉
(Cascara is a natural source of emodin)

@wester130 I can't believe I forgot about cypro. Give it a shot. I have no experience with Phosphatidylserine. I'd look deeper into.

@risingfire do you think low dose cabergoline could work?

it seems to reduce prolactin and cortisol

@wester130 I'm sure it would lower prolactin but I'm not sure about cortisol. What is your prolactin at?

so taking things like spearmint, licorice and Vitex to solve it

                  thoughts?

@wester130 stay away from licorice, it’s supposed to be highly estrogenic besides messing with your cortisol. I think mint is fine if it suits you, and have heard good things about vitex, so i guess worth a try.

@Hando-Jin those would not work for hyperandrogenism

@wester130 I don't know. You asked for things that lower cortisol, and all of those things do. You won't know without experimentation, I guess.

@16charactersitis I put a lot of time into this idea about two years ago. I don't think those things are really going to move the needle if you truly have the male version of PCOS. You would need DHT, progesterone, thyroid, vitamin D and cypro.

@wester130 is male PCOS characterized by hyperandrogenism? I think it would be quite the opposite.

this says it reduces DHEA-S with little impact on Testosterone

The problem is an overactive adrenal gland mostly

I think it is too much DHEA-S but testosterone is normal

@wester130 I generally view that as a sign of balding. Too much prolactin

even if it is cortisol, wouldn't estrogen be a factor?
Older guys often get lots of nose/ear/back hair but testosterone is lower. What is the relation of cortisol to estrogen?

                                          @Corngold I honestly don't know.

Many people get good results with finasteride, and things like nettle root, spearmint and vitex.

I think it's an imbalance of hormones, not the amount

@Corngold the stress hormones beget one another. Increased estrogen can lead to increased prolactin which can increase adrenaline. Nose/ear may have nothing to do with androgens
