Urgent overdose (b1, prog)
-
@bioenergetical might drinking a lot of water to force yourself to pee be handy to get rid of the overdose?
-
@bioenergetical u could try vitamin C 1g assuming part of its from excessive carbonic anhydrase inhibition , a few times a day for a week or so
https://bioenergetic.forum/topic/3836/high-dose-antioxidants-counter-carbonic-anhydrase-inhibition?_=1740751143269and things to reduce lactate if thats part of the problem (sometimes thiamine can actually raise if you are overstimulating production / glycolysis without being used).
if i was in your situation i would probably lower carb intake lower than usual for a bitand i would try things that inhibit acetylcholine (or muscarinic receptors) probably , temporarily while it wears off
-
@bioenergetical how long has it been since you took it?
-
I took the thiamine HCL (with energin) about 15 hours ago. Eventually, I normalized somewhat. I was still distraught from the experience. I thought progesterone would help but it just made the symptoms return (convulsing, shortness of breath). I tried to stabilize myself with salt and magnesium. So there were moments that I was calm, other moments that I was shaking. I tried drinking wine (I had my reasons) I felt dizzy, light headed, and sad
Now, I feel a bit more stable but I’m not sure how long that will last

What about stopping overdosing on supplements or doing stupid things, and returning to the hospital if it's needed?
-
@bioenergetical thiamine megadose raises co2 in the cell, could explain why progest brought it back. i'd guess a few days for the active effect to settle . and i'd say the vitamin c could be worth a go if the breathing problems hit again. and testing small amounts of sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) might help ease things while it wears off, if the CA inhibition is the problem then u'd have low bicarbonate
-
What if the B1 depleted my iron stores? Which is why I had an averse reaction to the progest E (vitamin E). Did I become iron deficient? My diet isn’t high in iron to begin with
-
@bioenergetical could have yeh worth a minerals test to see what metals went down , but progest shouldnt have had an extra effect acutely i dont think if that was the main problem, the acute effect is likely sending the co2 too high , progesterone boosts co2 further from metabolism increase and increases lung sensitivity to co2, people with hypercapnia hyperventilate & get shortness of breath
-
@bioenergetical was it 1.2g thiamine or 12g?
-
@cs3000 12g plus the amount in energin

Not sure if it is iron cause I’m no craving meat
-
Don’t understand why progest E worsened symptoms for me
-
@bioenergetical Im glad your okay that sounds scary
-
I’ve been drinking oj. I took 4g sodium bicarbonate and I felt weird. Shortness of breath
-
No, I’m not really okay. I’m tense, on edge. I don’t know what’s gonna happen
-
I feel warm and im not convulsing. But I feel like I can’t breathe that great. It just feels off
-
I took a manganese capsule and I feel more relieved… I did see something about excess B1 causing manganese deficiency. Not sure if it depleted anything else
-
@bioenergetical Try magnesium and riboflavin.
