What have you done that slows time perception? I think this is one of the best metrics for health, it's basically like how many FPS youre operating at.

Best ways to slow time perception

RE: Wife having issues with her focus.
@voldtzeig I always go back and forth on whether to use water for hydration but I often come back to the conclusion that hydration levels are very important whenever IM dealing with stubborn issues. This would not be an issue if you eat like Peat (usually up to a gallon of fluids from fruit and milk), however many people dont do that.
Of course water is not the only thing to account for (salt is so important), but you can see how many fluids shes having and if that helps (if shes already getting an average amount of carbs/fat/protein. Not that more food wouldn't help, but moreso that it wouldn't be the main cause likely).
I can also add some experiences of having poor appetite all day and then drinking a few cups of water and regaining an appetite for a full meal.
Of course the opposite can be true if someone is over consuming beverages, but if youre talking about the instance of post partum + breast feeding I think this might be part of the issue (more water + minerals).

RE: Has anyone felt worse after eating seed oils?
@Cicero I think its probably a good sign to be sensitive to some extent. I wish I was more properly sensitive.

RE: Losing weight as fast as possible
@notmcas How much starch do you eat per day?
-
RE: Thoughts about my diet ? Do I have potential to achieve PUFA deficiency in a few years?
@Androsclerozat How do you know its not the extra sugar that you replace the starch with thats enhancing your life, rather than the removal of the starch specifically?

RE: Whenever I discussed diet with normies they always steer the conversation towards weight loss/weight gain
@Ray-Peat-Fanboy I dont think most people are aware how intense your whole consciousness and reality can be affected by nutrition/food. It seems most people understand that certain "non-food substances" can do this like beer, coffee, cigarettes, etc. But not to the full extent of food.
There's also an aspect of this where people seem to think there is a "limit" to their health. For example, if they have no cold or flu, good blood work, no glaring pain, and are aroused often, they assume they are in "optimal health" and theres nothing else to it. Many other symptoms are simply blamed on a lack of discipline (although this is true to some extent) and moral failings that cannot be aleviated by anything but their own will/personality.

RE: r/RayPeat someone, along with their family, developed an ARA and DHA deficiency
@noseleather the guy was eating a very low fat diet as well. He says that if someone was eating a larger amount of fat or even like 3 eggs a day they probably would not get his issues.

RE: Amantadine is goated.
@latin I think a missing link in so much research on mental health is just assuming that symptoms are in a vaccum. If you give a psychopath SSRI's and they say it makes them "feel better"... but what if it's just supressing their awareness of what they do? How many of these drugs that they say "decrease depression" are actually being tested in disordered individuals who interpret good feelings such as sorrow and regret for bad action as bad feeling? I think also when it comes to anxiety, if a drug makes you stop caring about getting your work done in time and/or honoring your parents, that gets reported as "alleviating anxiety".
I came to this realization after taking this anti-depressant drug that seemed to have a lot of popularity due to it negating the anti libido effects of SSRIs. I always just took it for granted that libido is always a sign of health. It turns out, after noticing a lot of other bad symptoms that coorelate with libido, Im not sure at all whether it is something we should see as a sign of health.
Your analysis is really spot on in what I'm looking to achieve out of health and also you're judgint the drugs affects in a very good way.

r/RayPeat someone, along with their family, developed an ARA and DHA deficiency
This is interesting to think about. The full post is linked below. Essentially he was strictly PUFA avoident for two years, even using hydrogenated coconut oil as his only cooking oil. He tried different things such as high doses of B6, eating more MUFA, getting rid of EMF. He finally solved his families symptoms after adding back in conventional store bought eggs (the eggs from his farm wouldn't do it, he presumes because he fed his chicken no PUFA). He links Chris Masterjohn's articles on the topic (which are quite interesting to read since Chris is still favorable to saturated fat, along with this guy).

RE: Thoughts about my diet ? Do I have potential to achieve PUFA deficiency in a few years?
@Ray-Peat-Fanboy Yea Potatoes are great I just haven’t seen anyone eating 5lb per day. But really that’s how most people used to eat for thousands of years. Like 1 kilo of starch as the base of their diet.

RE: Thoughts about my diet ? Do I have potential to achieve PUFA deficiency in a few years?
@Ray-Peat-Fanboy 2.5 kilo of potatoes is really interesting.

RE: What compounds have you taken, that were supposed to be beneficial, and found out that they tanked libido?
@Crypt-Keeper Interesting. I saw a post on the Charlie Garrett Forum about anti-aromatase decreasing arousal.
-
RE: Would you agree that "drunk words are sober thoughts" ?
@Ray-Peat-Fanboy To some extent, yes. Although that doesn't mean that if you do something when you're drunk that you simply didnt have the courage to do it before. Being fully drunk brings you into a state of insanity.

I hear this pretty often with dairy milk, for example. There's also people talking about having a higher libido on something like the carnivore diet compared to Ray Peat's recommendations. I'm trying to discern as to when a high libido can correlate with bad health, after an experience I had with a medication.
I am not talking about something causing impotency/erectile dysfunction, just simply the state of arousal drastically decreasing.

RE: How to gain weight fast help me
@Fenômeno If your appetite is bad then try having more salt.
-
RE: Has anyone felt worse after eating seed oils?
@Peatly Its not that complicated TBH. If you give an alcoholic 6 shots of vodka he might feel a little tipsy. If I gave you 6 shots of vodka you might throw up. I dont think alcohol is poison btw, but just an example how you can get a tolerance to overconsumption.

RE: Libido is a sign of estrogen dominance?
@LinDaiyu Then why do perverts have high libido and do all sorts of depraved shit if they should be the healthiest ones?
-
RE: Has anyone felt worse after eating seed oils?
@lanadelesoteric Interesting... Maybe cause you don't have it that often?
