@skylark About 175cm/5’9. That’s a good point though, I do feel great so I shouldn’t assume I’m unhealthy. Just spending a fortune on groceries.

@erva-mate said in how to excess meat protein affect metabolism ? lethargy, no motivation....: @Fructose yes, I was lactose intolerant, not digesting even a glass, I increased the starches and reduced the fat and I'm consuming 750 ml per day, I can only consume milk after 2 pm.... I'm going to try to reduce protein and increase carbohydrates and improve milk consumption, reduce or eliminate meat... https://raypeat.com/articles/articles/phosphate-activation-aging.shtml https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-MkG0UVZ90A&ab_channel=RayPeatClips This will be helpful

What are your LH and FSH values? TSH could & should be lower, prolactin as well. Building blocks like cholesterol & vit D are only one part of the equation for testosterone. Stimulus is the bigger part. Your body needs to know that it NEEDS the testosterone. Food only brings you so far. Your body wont use nutrients to produce it if it isnt needed. Take more risks, push yourself harder in the gym, maybe do some fighting, talk to pretty blondes.

@atlantean1488 It can also just be that you’re maladapted to something. Some people who are on ultra low salt diets develop an aversion to sodium. But once you get used to more salt you start to love it. If your body tempt is genuinely like 38 Celsius then yea cool down but you’re hypothermic you objectively are too cold.

@hypermensch I eat at the bare minimum, 250g of beef, 2L of milk, on top of that I have eggs, fruit and cheese. The carrot salad hasn't really seemed to make a difference so I haven't had it for a while.

@LinDaiyu I reduced baking soda from 1 tsp twice daily to 1/2 tsp once a day and still had diarrhea once today. I didn't mention it, but I have also been drinking a lot of carbonated water, which I also stopped. Was hoping this was it, but seems it might be something else. Does OJ cause diarrhea for anyone?

@CO3 many people refuse to take it in conservative doses. I personally settled into taking quite big doses (many mgs), after a few months of experimentation. Hundreds of micrograms were noticeable, but far cry from even 2 mgs. That said, I've since stepped down from the peak of 8 mg to now 5. Really depends on what you are taking it for, whether you are taking anything else. My MB needs, to keep symptoms at bay go down when I take Aspirin, for ex. So, for me, comparatively big doses are rational. Can't speak for others

I reached out to a2 milk regarding their emulsifiers used and they said it contains tocopherol and sunflower oil. Not ideal but the amount is trivial and it's better than most brands which use P80 or propylene glycol. Not sure if a2 is available in the US but it's widely available in Canada at Safeway!

APT doesn't really exist, its really hinging at the thoracolumbar junction. Your psoas muscles are likely weak and have a reverse curve in your cervical spine. https://mskneurology.com/really-assess-lumbar-lordosis-dispelling-fallacy-anterior-pelvic-tilt/

@solbrahfan1488 go to Amazon "Crown Prince Oysters" if you want to try Thyroid, farmaciasdelnino.mx. When it comes to liver I recommend keeping it simple, pan cook with cheddar cheese melted on top or just use Franks buffalo sauce.

@juuls-for-jews As for the classic Ray Peat diet, I think so. There may be a problem with gelatin, ice cream, or oysters. Liver can be kosher as long as it has met Jewish slaughter standards.

@ser1s4e Both nitazoxnide and metronidazole, which is typically used for anaerobic bacterial infections, target the same mechanism of action in parasites. However, it’s important to know that nitazoxinide inhibits the pyruvate:ferredoxin oxidoreductase enzyme in parasites. On the other hand, metronidazole is dependent on upregulated activity of the same enzyme as it activates the drug inside of the cell. By itself, it should be relatively effective, but it shouldn’t used in combination as it most likely won’t be synergistic. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1803158/ https://academic.oup.com/jac/article/66/8/1756/673348
