Gauge whom you are speaking with, but if you can't then prepare for 10 second sound bites to prevent their eyes from glazing over.
Regarding oil, for simplicity's sake i'll begin with a slight misconception then immediately clarify: it's not fried foods that are bad, it's what they are fried in xxxxx, coconut oil, butter, beef tallow xxxxx polyunsaturated fats. Then i allow them to, umm , digest what i've just said. More often then not they'll reply with but olive oil! To which ill reply in moderation because it still has some PUFA content, and most imported bottles in the US are counterfeit, but California olive oil is much more likely to be genuine. If they are still interested then i'll close with new restaraunt oil is bad enough, but the stuff that's been used a couple of times has become oxidized (rancid) and disease causing.
Aspirin i'll start with .. do you want to live longer, with less medical issues and stress? One aspirin a day (325mg), or a half at the very least. Then wait for their reply.
As for carrots, i'll first wait for someone to mention how they need more fiber in their diet, to which i'll simply reply one peeled carrot a day, 4 or 5 days a week xxxx antifungal, roughage to scrape things out, you may even get a sense of calm after a while. This will often prompt different questions but i'll keep the replies short and sweet, maybe remind them that healthy fats and regular magnesium intake have stool softening effects etc etc.
These are just my most common examples.
