Reversal of hair loss in Mice with “sugar gel”
-
there is a thread about nad+ in the other forum and some researcher posted there that he uses b3 in combination with d-ribose in his patients ...
i would assume he can say more about it.
-
FYI, d-ribose and deoxyribose are not the same thing.

@LetTheRedeemed The nitric oxide thing might explain why it works--NO is said to be what makes minoxidil work.
-
@OliverCloasov no im not saying he said this particular thing i am making fun of danny’s reductionist midwit bullshit
i dont know or care about what danny has to say about this particular substance.
-
@sneedful ah yes, the estrogen-cascade-blood-vessel-dilation theory of life. Danny's on the nose about the toxicity of NO.

https://commonchemistry.cas.org/detail?cas_rn=50-69-1Thanks, I know. They are different stages of the conversion of glucose toward atp.
Ray was a proponent of even putting sugar on the scalp, so my thought is that any step closer may provide additional benefits.
we can disregard sneedful's comments as he is noncontributory

@Ben thanks!
any chance you have a link? I'd be grateful if you shared! I don't have accounts in any other forum.
-
Wild idea here, but building on the topical sugar idea, any thoughts on mixing a target sugar with DMSO for topical use? I ask due to DMSO's penetrative boosting capability
-
@OliverCloasov I thought of that too, but I read that sugar dissolved in water is so easily absorbed by the skin that I just haven't messed with dmso yet. let us know if you try it.
I'm applying multiple times throughout the day across the whole scalp (to promote metabolism where blood flow is still good, thinking that must help), and about once or twice a day, I'm also applying t3, niacinamide, and haiduts oxidal, which contains methyline blue, niacinamide, and aspirin.
I apply a heaping amount of the d-ribose water immediately after applying the other substances, to avoid "starving" the scalp.
-
the user MC_55 seems to work with d-ribose and vitamin b3.
maybe its worth contacting him.
-
@Ben interesting. Thanks so much! Unfortunately I will never go back to the rpf, but I’ll still peruse threads of interest (usually the old er ones).
Let them know about this forum!

Ray talked about a glucose solution for regrowing hair

@Hando-Jin Folks might want to look at these:

Just a couple things that I found in a quick search on the Peat site, which is still active, with a massive amount of good information.
And the shrill, hyper-religious, anti-Vitamin A rants from the admin are gone. -
Hey thanks!
I got so caught up in md_a's 'RENIN-ANGIOTENSIN-ALDOSTERONE SYSYTEM And HAIR LOSS PROCESS' thread I missed the simple ticket.
I'll try the honey trick. I'm long past caring about the cosmetic appearance of temporal loss. But I like the science.

Hmm, yes I've noticed a lot of the vitamin A toxin spam is gone the past few weeks lol. Didn't he have a massive falling out with the vit A toxin cult leader? The euphoria phase is over I guess, he's probably out searching for the next health fad
-
@ThinPicking nice, look forward to hearing how it goes
-
Thanks for the thread links, I’ll check them out.
Nah, they realized vit A avoidance wasn’t the answer to all their problems so they’re quietly pretending they didn’t become the most authoritarian jokesters for 5 months.
I don’t mind if members or admin disagree with vitamin A and have dumb views, but I do care about how the admin treated people, then elevated yesmen. Things like banning a user because he didn’t call Mercola “Dr Mercola,” when such wasn’t even a prerequisite for Ray Peat! So, until the law and order admin takes ownership of his toxic lawless and unorderly behavior and apologizes like a man, I will not support his forum one iota.
-
That whole thing blew up right as I was trying to make an account for the first time, I had just been a reader for several years. Won't ever sign up now unless it changes hands to someone new. It's crazy the amount of damage that admin did in such a short amount of time to his own forum.
On the subject of sugar for hair growth, I'm experimenting with it. Anyone else? I'll probably alternate between honey/sugar just to cover bases.

@Hearthfire I do wish to clarify that I don’t mean to bully others into not joining the forum. But those are my strongly worded reasons, lol.
Yes I’m experimenting with d-ribose, and will likely try adding dextrose. It would probably be cool to dig around about any benefits of fructose directly on the cell (given that’s 50% of table sugar and higher in honey).
Look forward to seeing what everyone discovers.
Ps, I’m doing a topical blend of methylene blue, niacinamide, and aspirin once or twice a day
