Immune system support post chemotherapy?
-
My mother had surgery and underwent chemotherapy for breast cancer surger. She was able to fight through, but it seems like her immune system is weakened.
She finished with chemo a couple of months ago and now she is on Letrozole which is used post-chemo to suppress estrogen.
She started having side effects from Letrozole.I've been trying to convince her to at least take D3 and K2 for immune boost and bone density. But she doesn't want to because the doctors apparently told her that vitamins are not allowed during chemo, or after chemo also??

@GreekDemiGod yo Greco you’ve been around a long while… respect, and sorry for your mother.
Will they allow aspirin?
Gelatin.
Foods high in D and K maybe
-
@GreekDemiGod Drs said the same to my Mum, they made her stop vitamin D and even vitamin C.
I read some cool stuff about pomegranate juice which produces a mucous that’s beneficial for fighting cancer. Got her onto that and Aspirin too.
All the best, stay strong
Well done for being there for her. -

During chemo and chimio, it's not advisable to take antioxidant because it can weaken or antagonize the target objective.
=> No Vit C E D polyphenols.
What would be useful is to help the liver to evacuate toxins. No stimulation but a facilitator and a protector. If protector, have a delay to avoid counter-effects. -
@LucH do you have any pharma/supplemental suggestions in accordance with your statement?

As part of breast cancer therapy, it is not appropriate to take antioxidants. But it would be appropriate to relieve the liver. Help the liver facilitates the evacuation of toxins, without top stimulating it because it is necessary to avoid engorgement. Question of flow.
In phytotherapy, the next ones are to consider:- Rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaves extract: against lipid peroxidation, and 10 days pretreatment before for optimizing glutathione level. Possible radio-protective effects.
Note: wait 2-3 days after treatment to avoid antioxidant effects. - Thistle-Marie
- Desmodium
Among the three options, thistle-Marie and Desmodium seem the most suitable for supporting liver function during chemotherapy, while minimizing the risk of interference with treatment. thistle-Marie is particularly recommended for its strong hepatoprotective properties, while the desmodium can be used for a softer and balanced action on the liver. Rosemary, although effective to protect the liver and increase glutathione levels, should be used with caution due to its high antioxidant potential, which could interfere with the effectiveness of chemotherapy.
Note: These molecules exist in 2 forms: Alcoholic extract in drops or ampoules to be diluted in 10 cl of water.
You can also use essential oil to avoid excess disagreement.
Only through breath.- Citrus limon or Citrus sinensis.
- Mentha x piperita or Zingiber officinalis.
=> 1 drop of each on a paper; + 3 or 4 times breathe. When needed.

@LucH thanks for sharing. No doubt this is an effective alternative when using chemo…
Not to be a snob, but that convinces me to never advise chemo lol.
