Niacinamide is as effective as minoxidil

Apple Polyphenols are more effective than finasteride.

It is almost as if we dont need these drugs and nature has a solution for us.

"It was observed an increase of 6.7 total hairs/0.25 cm2 after 6 months of procyanidin therapy. The same effects have been reported with minoxidil40–42 and finasteride (an inhibitor of type II 5α-reductase, Merck)8 therapy for androgenetic alopecia. In 2% minoxidil treatment, an increase of 250 total hairs/5.1 cm2 (calculated as 12.3 total hairs/0.25 cm2) after 12-month therapy was reported.40 In finasteride treatment (1 mg/day, oral administration), an increase of 86 total hairs/5.1 cm2 (calculated as 4.22 total hairs/0.25 cm2) after 12-month therapy was reported.8 The level of efficacy of 1% procyanidin B2 is concluded to compare favorably with minoxidil and finasteride therapy.15 "

the scalp needs constant glucose to grow

Peat even mentioned topical honey for growth

things like topical ribose, topical inositol could be ineresting

Would niacin be as effective? Tried to find out why niacinimide over niacin would be better, but couldn't find an answer. Some people seem to think niacin is better due to the blood circulation increase benefit.

@Hearthfire the "flush" is an inflammation response though

@wester130 Niacin reduces inflammation and helps heal wounds. The flush is histamine release. It increases blood flow, which would logically be beneficial to hair growth. Have you ever taken it? I actually think the flush feels really good, and you have an extreme sense of well being and calmness after.

@Hearthfire NMN is actually very cheap

I may experiment with it instead of normal Niacinamide

niacinamide is not proven for hair

Do you still use the Swanson brand, for the apple polyphenols?

@Mossy I stopped using them topcically, because it was such a mess to apply. But looking backon it that was because of the apple juice i diluted it in.
So maybe I'll give the polyphenols another run mixed with niacinamide and glucose and water.

I hear you. If there's one thing I've learned over the years with these topicals, at least for me, they're impossible to use on a regular basis, apart from during sleep, due to the mess.

The glucose would seem to be a mess, no matter the form. On those lines, I've been thinking of using the common D-Ribose supplement, as opposed to the much more expensive variant of it used in the studies.

@Mauritio what is messy about it?

topicals in ethanol should disappear and absorb within 10 seconds

@wester130 I think it was the apple juice /polyphenols they stained my clothes . With the current formula that doesn't happen anymore .
