For me this protocol was developed over 6 months of trial, error and deductive reasoning and I do not know how long it would take if you followed the full protocol from day 1.

The health condition itself is quite complex, but the solution to resolving the individual symptoms are quite simple and straightforward, requiring just the right combination of common nutrients.

      Symptoms

      • Low Energy
      • Insomnia
      • Low body temperatures
      • Starch sensitivity
      • Fat sensitivity

Secondary: tongue discoloration, reactive hypoglycemia, general gut discomfort, frequent spitting, frequent night time urination

      Diagnosis

The symptoms suggest digestive insufficiency due to elevated adrenaline and low thyroid.

This means the pancreas are not producing sufficient digestive enzymes to break down starch, as well as the liver not producing enough bile acid to break down fat.

One might argue that this is a vulnerable state for the gut to be in and that some of these symptoms could be caused by a type of gut dysbiosis, like SIBO. While that is true I would argue that you should not focus on that. The reason is that actively fighting off dysbiosis is very energy intensive and will likely make you even sicker in the process. The focus should be on recovering digestive capabilities first, and afterwards the body should be able to heal from dysbiosis by itself, without further intervention.

      Protocol

Before everything else we will need to remove starch and fat from our diet.

Use a base of low fat milk and plentiful fruit to ensure a baseline of nutrients. Some low fat meat, such as ham, are also easily digestible. Don't forget adequate salt intake, it's easy to overlook when eating just milk and fruit. Sweets and sugars are fine.

As your digestions improves add foods according to what you can best stomach. Be very careful of what you add and how much of it you eat at once. Eating too much of the wrong things can set you back for weeks.

      Adrenaline reduction

First lets address the Hypothyroidism and the Insomnia. Adrenaline and T3 are antagonistic towards each other, that means supplementing T3 will not be effective until the adrenaline problem is resolved first.

      To reduce adrenaline we need:

      • 5g salt/day (1 teaspoon)
      • 1000mg calcium/day, which we get from 1l milk.
      • Sufficient carbs (a few hundred grams of sugar per day)

This should also resolve the insomnia.

For acute adrenaline reduction you can bloom gelatin in cold water, then drink it dissolved in hot water.

      Thyroid / Temperature control

I will not go into Thyroid/T3 supplementation here. It's something that's frequently discussed in other threads already. I was taking a low/moderate dose of natural desiccated thyroid.

To improve our temperatures we can take 500mg Aspirin together with 1mg Vitamin K1.

For very low temperatures (<35°C) I found hot showers to be most effective.

      Liver support

We need to ensure the liver can remove toxins efficiently to protect our body from gut dysbiosis. For this I suggest a Vitamin B complex, don't sweat too much about this, any will do as long as they contain reasonable levels of Vitamin B6 and B12.

Further we need Zink and Magnesium. Magnesium we get from the milk. For Zink I am sporadically taking a 25mg Zink supplement.

      Bile acid support

1000mg Taurine per day should fix our fat digestion quickly. Cholesterol from egg yolks might also be necessary.

Ox bile can bring immediate relief if the bile acid is sluggish to recover.

      Pancreatic enzyme support

The starch sensitivity had already resolved itself from implementing the suggestions in the adrenaline and temperature section so I have little to say here.

Let me know how this goes. I've been dealing with gut issues myself. How do you react to protein? I've found recently that red meat by itself is remarkably effective at clearing up my white tongue. Also anything that that helps with bile also goes a long way for me. High dose vitamin C helps stimulate bowel movements, I also think it makes the stomach more acidic or perhaps increases bile. Helps quite a bit with stomach acid and with endotoxin. Gives me weird side effects though. Also alcohol on an empty stomach helps me quite a bit.
