RE: Jerky Callers

Some of the callers on the radio interviews are absolutely hilarious. Not sure if they're pranking, but the guy at 35:00 is unbelievable. Jerky Boys-esque.

Of course, if you are this guy, and you were serious, I apologize! Health problems are no laughing matter!
Ray, "some recommended cooking practices create toxic oxidized forms of cholesterol , for example steaming fish or cooking at low temperature instead of frying or grilling it. But it actually increases toxic oxidized cholesterol. So steamed salmon have more toxic oxidized cholesterol than grilled beef stake."
How steaming food would create more oxidized cholesterol than grilling ? (assuming equal amount of time) What 's the logic behind this statement ?
Though I read in Ray Peat articles that grilling meat creates conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) from PUFAs due to high temperature. Even if it is so it has to be a very througly grilled stake to reach this effect...not medium rare.I hardly can believe that people binging on barbeque would be healthier than those eating lightly steamed meat/fish. I read people in China tradtionally prefer steaming fish or meat and in general they are healthier and live longer .
Also example of Traditional Pork Dish From Okinawa (usually simmed for at least one hour)

RE: Possible hearing damage when using diclofenac for hair growth
Just eating a lot , like real a lot will be very metabolic and probably good for hair regrowth...
Does anyone have a better hairline than a youtuber Brother Monkey ?
Even Haidut is just a low metabolic half-starved rabbit compared to this lion . He needs to eat more to regrow hair.

you can see in this video all his family members have full head of hair -
RE: Limiting salt consumption for infants?
Without ample salt, aldosterone has minimal effects on blood pressure or excretion of potassium and magnesium. In fact, some of the highest levels of aldosterone are found in the blood of primitive people who eat very little salt, yet their pressures and potassiums are normal and their cardiovascular structures pristine. By contrast, salt supplements can expose pressor, kaluretic, and pathologic effects of small amounts of mineralocorticoids in animals and, presumably, in humans. This synergy supports the hypothesis that apparently normal levels of aldosterone can be responsible for hypertension and related diseases when those levels are “inappropriately high” for the quantity of salt ingested. High‐salt intake by itself is epidemiologically associated with cardiovascular deterioration

Low Vitamin D and using sunscreen is what causes cancer and aged skin look.
Do you have any sources/studies/testimonials about it ?

RE: Experiences with RAW MEAT.
@yerrag
I think it is not digested as completely as cooked meat unless one has strong stomach acid. If I'm not mistaken Aajonus recommended to accompany raw meat with raw honey to supply digestive enzymes. Well, raw meat provides with more glutathione but there are other sources of it.
I would consider it as occasional pre/pro-biotic food. It might cause flu symptoms when cold and not recommended when defrozen. -
RE: Tracking down the mysterious cause of Dr. Paul Saladino's shockingly rapid aging
Ray got drooping/sagging skin by age 47 . He patched himself with pregnelone.
Also look at his neck on the left picture. He looks too old for his age.
Just wondering if he was under a lot of stress in that time.In 1983, the ocean current called El Nino caused
Oregon's weather to stay cloudy and rainy through the
summer. I didn't have my usual summer recovery from
"winter sickness," and by November I was becoming very
sick. During a two week trip I felt perfectly well, but except
for that short time I kept getting sicker and sicker (with
inflammation of arteries, dental abscesses, asthma, migraines,
and colitis). Lying in bed one day trying to understand what
had happened during that two-week trip, I remembered that I
had used the vitamin E containing a residue of pregnenolone
on the trip, but used pure vitamin E after I got home. I
immediately got out of bed and took a pinch of pregnenolone.
In about an hour, all of my symptoms had stopped, and for
over a week I was healthy and energetic. But then I got sick
again, and was so distracted by the pain that it was several
days before I remembered the pregnenolone. Another pinch
had the same dramatic sudden effect. Since then I have taken
some almost every day. While I was sick I had pictures made
for a passport, but they looked so odd that I got several more.
The best of those, the least haggard looking, is reproduced
here.
NOTE:
After using pregnenolone for several years, I noticed
that the slack skin and other signs of aging were coming back. -
RE: Experiences with RAW MEAT.
I think raw meat is poorly digested but may be beneficial as prebiotic ( foster growth or activity of beneficial microorganisms ). Being poorly digested means less iron is absorbed , and also mimicking fasting /low calorie.

@Insomniac
Yeah, Haidut rocks.
I think the sun in DC is not as strong as in San Diego.
I would like to see haidut surfing in the Pacific so we can compare their physical fitness. -
RE: The immortal, eternal Bryan Johnson broke his frail, childlike ankle while dancing at age 47
if we do lots of exercise injures are unavoidable , but we do it for fun anyway. Another option is to stay at home and drink coffee

RE: Why does nitrix oxide decrease with aging?
Ray Peat's Newsletters
"Some of the obvious changes of aging, such as loss of muscle (Martinez-Moreno, et al., 2007) and gain of fat (Bahadoran, et al., 2015) and decreased sensitivity to insulin (Ropelle, et al., 2013), are produced by increased nitric oxide."
"In people with Parkinson’s disease, increased amounts of iron, nitric oxide, and prostaglandins have been observed."
"a diabetes-like state is created by nitric oxide damage, forcing the use of fatty acids instead of glucose for fuel."

RE: Bryan Johnson cooling himself for longevity? Waking temp of 93.4. Seems like a bad idea
@SpaceManJim said in Bryan Johnson cooling himself for longevity? Waking temp of 93.4. Seems like a bad idea:
@Gardner how is lowering his metabolic rate going to help with longevity? What happens when he gets sick or injured?
He would be already sick and injured because he's been pursuing this quite a while. He probably knows more than what we think of him. He definitely won't share all his secrets. There will be more peope like him and they don't want everyone to live to 300 yo. He may even fake his death at some point so everybody says...see , even Bryan couldn't make it.
Low metabolic creatures live long ...whales (2 to 37 heart beats per minute (bpm)), crocodiles (24–40 bpm) , turtles (25 bpm) . They are very resistant to cancer and at the same time high persentage of highly unsaturated fatty acids (HUFA) in tissue .

RE: Bryan Johnson cooling himself for longevity? Waking temp of 93.4. Seems like a bad idea
His goal is different , he is aiming at longevity . I guess he wants to bring himself to a reptile like temperature/metabolism so he can live to 200 or 300 yo and then even longer and passively (low stress) observe how humanity develops. He can afford low stress life.

Trump doesn't wear glasses, no presbyopia for him , pretty impressive .

@Corngold
physical jobs like people do on farms are very stress-lowering. But these kind of people choose stress to drive them -
RE: Donald Trump defies the laws of aging. An obese, garbage food eating insomniac conquered the world at 78 (politics aside)
@yerrag
The only reason he is comfy with his prostate is finasteride. I took it for year or so it just felt so good. He was taking finasteride for hair growth, not sure if he keeps taking it now.
But having hair allows him to absorb cosmic energy directly into brain ... and feel super confident. -
RE: New "Mission" of RPF
@risingfire ,
Nutritionists have this power of persuasion. Some of them literally can persuade you to eat cows' poo like Aajonus if you listen to him for too long.
I think every piece of Peat's writings has been thoroughly chewded upon by many people because once you start reading him it is impossible to stop and then follows endless browsing of RPF and spending money on magical pills.
And Char... took it all away just by banning people, I guess many have withdrawal symptoms, some will be clinging on RP's ideas up to the end because ...Peat is the most misunderstood person in history
