@Insomniac
Yeah, Haidut rocks.
I think the sun in DC is not as strong as in San Diego.
I would like to see haidut surfing in the Pacific so we can compare their physical fitness.

if we do lots of exercise injures are unavoidable , but we do it for fun anyway. Another option is to stay at home and drink coffee

RE: Why does nitrix oxide decrease with aging?
Ray Peat's Newsletters
"Some of the obvious changes of aging, such as loss of muscle (Martinez-Moreno, et al., 2007) and gain of fat (Bahadoran, et al., 2015) and decreased sensitivity to insulin (Ropelle, et al., 2013), are produced by increased nitric oxide."
"In people with Parkinson’s disease, increased amounts of iron, nitric oxide, and prostaglandins have been observed."
"a diabetes-like state is created by nitric oxide damage, forcing the use of fatty acids instead of glucose for fuel."

RE: Bryan Johnson cooling himself for longevity? Waking temp of 93.4. Seems like a bad idea
@SpaceManJim said in Bryan Johnson cooling himself for longevity? Waking temp of 93.4. Seems like a bad idea:
@Gardner how is lowering his metabolic rate going to help with longevity? What happens when he gets sick or injured?
He would be already sick and injured because he's been pursuing this quite a while. He probably knows more than what we think of him. He definitely won't share all his secrets. There will be more peope like him and they don't want everyone to live to 300 yo. He may even fake his death at some point so everybody says...see , even Bryan couldn't make it.
Low metabolic creatures live long ...whales (2 to 37 heart beats per minute (bpm)), crocodiles (24–40 bpm) , turtles (25 bpm) . They are very resistant to cancer and at the same time high persentage of highly unsaturated fatty acids (HUFA) in tissue .

His goal is different , he is aiming at longevity . I guess he wants to bring himself to a reptile like temperature/metabolism so he can live to 200 or 300 yo and then even longer and passively (low stress) observe how humanity develops. He can afford low stress life.

Trump doesn't wear glasses, no presbyopia for him , pretty impressive .

@Corngold
physical jobs like people do on farms are very stress-lowering. But these kind of people choose stress to drive them -

@yerrag
The only reason he is comfy with his prostate is finasteride. I took it for year or so it just felt so good. He was taking finasteride for hair growth, not sure if he keeps taking it now.
But having hair allows him to absorb cosmic energy directly into brain ... and feel super confident. -
RE: New "Mission" of RPF
@risingfire ,
Nutritionists have this power of persuasion. Some of them literally can persuade you to eat cows' poo like Aajonus if you listen to him for too long.
I think every piece of Peat's writings has been thoroughly chewded upon by many people because once you start reading him it is impossible to stop and then follows endless browsing of RPF and spending money on magical pills.
And Char... took it all away just by banning people, I guess many have withdrawal symptoms, some will be clinging on RP's ideas up to the end because ...Peat is the most misunderstood person in history -

RE: New "Mission" of RPF
What a disgrace!
He made it impossible to do search on his forum if you are not logged in or registered .
He used other people to create forum with all the fascinating topics and then just canceled it never giving credit to other people who were contrbuting for years. -
RE: New "Mission" of RPF
So, what is going on ? Do we have more data by now why RPF banned half of its active members and drove them to this forum ? Why did they allow to post the link to this bioenergetic forum as if they care?

RE: Does the beta-carotene in Broccoli outweigh the benefits of the high Vitamin K & C?
@Pooooop
that amount should be ok, once a week. Or divide it into smaller portions daily . Don't forget to thoroughly cook it. -
RE: Does the beta-carotene in Broccoli outweigh the benefits of the high Vitamin K & C?
@Pooooop
I think carotenoids can be a problem when consumed in a form of supplements or if you are eating tons of greens.
Broccoli is estrogenic, it is rich in secoisolariciresinol, a type of lignan phytoestrogen. -
RE: Why did Ray Peat change his mind on sugar
@sneedful , In a podcast Ray boasted about buying 20 pound bags of sugar and people were staring at him. I think he used sugar ad libitum mostly with coffee also in icecream and orange peel jam.
Considering how important fructose is. "Fructose affects the body's ability to retain other nutrients, including magnesium, copper, calcium, and other minerals. ...dietary fructose enhances mineral balance."
