@ThinPicking au contraire, I think he just became the most normal person here — or there...

RE: Apology
@noodlecat59 I understand the modern liberal desire to be absolutely anti-Authoritarian, but dam if it doesn’t just turn everything in to the anarcho-tyranny toxic twitter space that no serious person I know in my real life wants anything to do with.
You either get 1.) a good society with fewer rules and greater flexibility, or 2.) a society with more rules, or 3.) Haiti, and you don’t want Haiti.
Vote to change Brad’s name to BBQ, the current mob boss of Haiti. So called because he bbq’s the hearts of the vanquished, leading millions to flee in terror, not unlike a totally anarchist word-space (not to be confused with idea-space) where it’s verboten to try to reign in discussions to be moderately optically sane (not confronting any idea in the slightest), in so doing, BBQ’ing hearts of the normal people who’s presence make anything a good living condition.

RE: Apology
Many of the original rpf diaspora that showed up in the beginning with their comments, aren’t regular contributors like they were in the beginning, and they are the ones who’ve been around the block and have something more substantial to say.
Free speech absolutism runs off normal people just like totalitarianism does.
Notshannalotte wasn’t running off people for disagreeing with Ray Peat, but forcing a modicum of decorum for a place to function.
Frankly, it seems it’s more important to get to say peepeepoopoo, than have a forum with a goal that does not get deconstructed and abandoned or at the least, disturb and turn off new people.
I’ve got my wonky conspiracy theories or pet beliefs, and they don’t make it on this forum, or are at least tactful in the rare occasion that they do.
Either be ruled well by one man, or be ruled as expected by the least common denominator of a mob — that’s the job someone doesn’t know they sign up for when they create anything for a group of people.

RE: NotShannalotte's Zoo
Guys, the humor casually shared would’ve been balked at just 30 years ago… look what we’ve become as a society. Be grateful we have a moderator with an emphasis on keeping a clean house…
it is not longhouse behavior to keep things in line that would honestly get you kicked out in real life for making a community’s serious effort a laughing stock.
There is a whole lotta slack for infantile behavior.
This is not twitter. The principle function of this place is not free speech, but sharing ideas related to bioenergetic principles. Honestly, demanding free speech everywhere one goes where that speech is not related to the topic at hand, is liberalism gone to far — proto-woke.

interesting.
what do you think could be the mechanism? do you think it's actually just an increase of testosterone being aromatized?I'm also not beyond believing I could be deficient in it...

RE: region with the least bad people
@noodlecat59 hah yes, contemporary suburbia is the bane of beauty...

RE: region with the least bad people
@Luke what noodlecat59 said.
lol no, creating more local contacts with people who share values -- "networking" with people who run small pro-human businesses (think farms/restaurants/grocers/builders), who you can count on when the world goes to pot.
I have a long term goal of creating wholistic farm operations that involve the community.
Think of a neighborhood of lawns with the fences and vanity lawns torn down and converted into a big farm and garden! rip up those concrete sidewalks, and put in stone paths winding around trees, houses, and secret gardens! take over HOA's and build small store fronts out of garages. the money is there for efforts like these, like no other time -- people crave authenticity, community, and health, more than ever, and they're paying thru the nose for the most superficial versions of it (whole foods, farmers markets, farm to table restaurants).
And, it doesn't have to be the quirky weird hippy lizard abstract art vibe (unless you like that).
These are dreams...

RE: Why are women today, the non fat ones, better looking than women back then?
@latte I second this.
And beyond the narrowly curated subjects of paintings throughout history, the styles were specific and often did not emphasized realism, but rather followed specific patterns or “styles” of portraying people — this was so with men, as well, and I likewise don’t see handsome men in paintings until the early modern period of art that emphasized such realism of the face and other human details like genitalia (late 1700s as I recall).

@NNight nuts:
Haidut:
Boron is HIGHLY estrogenic. The bodybuilding community was crazy about it in the 1990s, but then they found out first hand that it raises estrogen (I think all 3 types) and dumped it. Boron has similar effects to cadmium, nickel, cobalt, etc and they are all estrogenic and carcinogenic in higher doses.
Peat is right that unless you are deficient you'd better not mess with it. See below for a study in men.
http://link.springer.com/article/10.1007%2FBF02785299
"...Supplementation with 10 mg B/d for 4 wk resulted in 84% of the supplemented dose being recovered in the urine. Plasma estradiol concentrations increased significantly as a result of supplementation (51.9±21.4 to 73.9±22.2 pmol/L;p<0.004) and there was a trend for plasma testosterone levels to be increased. However, there was no difference in plasma lipids or the oxidizability of low-density lipoprotein Our studies suggest that the absorption efficiency of B is very high and estimation of the urinary B concentration may provide a useful reflection of B intake. In addition, the elevation of endogenous estrogen as a result of supplementation suggests a protective role for B in atherosclerosis." -

@Luke I think "Same problems as everywhere else in the Western world..." is the real issue, and I've resigned to no more "retreating."
