Is that "mosaic01" person one of Charlie's alt accounts? I ask because dude is literally regurgitating the toxin A stuff verbatim to Charlie's rhetoric. He's either the same person or the most hooked koolaid drinker I've ever seen...at least since the Manson girls.

@zoro said in How does Coffee differ from T3 or T4 supplementation:
@Mulloch94 would it be the same if mixing green tea with coffee?
I have no clue. My intuition tells me green tea's theanine content probably only has enough to counter the negative effects of the caffeine in the tea, mixing it with coffee may require additional theanine since coffee's caffeine content is considerably higher than tea's.

RE: Is semen retention energy healthy energy or stress hormones/cortisol?
@Ecstatic_Hamster Yeah, I wonder how they'd even go about creating a study like that, lol. Seems like right now the best available evidence is all the case reports and logging on nofap forums and such.

@Mulloch94 Is there like a good overview on everything you said + more on male hormones you can recommend? Like A to Z stuff. Or I will have to pick bits up here and there? Im so lost lol.
Your best source will probably be to read all the user reports on the RPF. Most of the studies are posted there too. A LOT of people were reporting that the higher dosages gave them issues, while the lower dosages seemed to do all right. Several of them also used pansterone with it as well.

RE: Androsterone
@Sugar Don't put androsterone on your balls or dick, I learned that lesson the hard way. You'll get some limp dick action going, lol.

@Mulloch94 what would you suggest for someone has low estrogen and want to increase it?
I guess it depends on how low. If you're hypogonadal, I think TRT without an estrogen antagonist will bring the levels up nicely. If it starts to get too high you can always take lower dosages of T more frequently, which seems to work well for some people.
If you've got good T levels then you can use something like Boron daily to bring the E2 levels back up into the range. Some people might recommend 5-ar inhibitors, which will work, but they will many other issues, so I wouldn't advise that method.

RE: Is semen retention energy healthy energy or stress hormones/cortisol?
@Ecstatic_Hamster Makes sense I guess. I know if you go too long without ejaculations wet dreaming becomes more frequent. I guess that's the body's way of dealing with old excessive semen.
Too much masturbation does some weird stuff with prolactin/dopamine system. There's not a lot science on it, but if you spend time on like nofap subreddits and stuff you'll see a lot of people dealing with erectile issues. And really nothing they do pharmacologically seems to help most of them.
I'm guessing porn addiction must do something to the actual receptors, making them insensitive to the dopamine being created. Prolactin spikes much higher during real sex, but it quickly drops back down (real sex also increases T). Whereas daily masturbation increases prolactin marginally, but it stays up chronically.

RE: How does Coffee differ from T3 or T4 supplementation
@Kvirion theanine and taurine directly oppose adrenaline by augmenting GABA. Caffeine/Coffee is a GABA antagonist, so I guess these conflict to the point of canceling out the majority of the adrenaline surge. I've seen a lot people report they can acquire the nootropic effects from coffee without the jitteriness when they use theanine with caffeine.

@slow-learner said in Is living next to these things bad for your health?:
Would any of you move into an apartment like this if it was nice and cheap and in a good neighborhood? Would the EMF really be that bad? Maybe I should get an EMF detector and test it out.
I mean it's bad, probably a lot worse than we currently realize to be honest. It's most likely a detriment to our reproductive health. I don't know if I'm at the point where I'd avoid buying a location just because of EMF. But it sure seems like the evidence is slowly accumulating.
I'm not well versed in the anti-EMF market, but if they sell something like EMF protective sheets for your bed, I'd definitely get some. That way when you lay down at night you'll be under some protective layers. Might look into getting some underwear to protect the family jewels too.

RE: The broist of all bros
@Kilgore It was at that percise moment he realized he fucked up lmao. As hard as it may sound, I don't even know if the oil chug ranks at the top. Maybe it does, but the one where he eats a fucking cactus might just be worse, lol.

The broist of all bros
I don't know why I had the urge to share this here but I thought everyone would get a kick out of it. LA Beast chugging a big ass glass full of oil. His bro at the gym forgot to tell him about O6/O3 ratios. High irresponsible to drink this much oil without downing a whole bottle of fish oil offset that

RE: Is semen retention energy healthy energy or stress hormones/cortisol?
There was actually a study done on that (can't find it now, I didn't save it). IIRC testosterone spiked on the 7th day of abstaining and then proceeded to gradually fall each and every day afterwards. And it eventually got to a point where abstaining was hurting T levels. So apparently it's good to bust a nut once a week, unless you're having real sex, which is safe to do daily.

RE: How does Coffee differ from T3 or T4 supplementation
@Kvirion Yeah, I actually prefer the taste of plain black coffee, but when I drink it I'll always eat some sugar with it. Usually an apple due to the high fructose content. I actually use to put gelatin in my coffee as well. I don't do it anymore simply because I got tired of doing the extra step lmao. I didn't notice it changing my response to caffeine much anyways, so I thought it was a bit redundant.

RE: Looking for experiences with metergoline
@saturnuscv I think metergoline increases dopamine according to Haidut's thread on RPF. Supposedly it's an agonist at D2. D2 is the autoreceptor, so it would be beneficial to know if it's agonizing the pre-synaptic receptors or the post-synaptic receptors. If it's the former than it probably reduced dopamine. But I'm not sure that makes sense in light of the fact metergoline has been shown in human studies to lower prolactin. Unless it's lowering prolactin through a pathway independent of dopamine...which is possible I guess.

@bengobeil said in How does Coffee differ from T3 or T4 supplementation:
How does one know whether they should drink coffee, supplement thyroid or both?
In short, if you're hypothyroid, take thyroid. Nothing else will fill that gap.
The lower TSH is generally speaking the better your thyroid is. TSH above 2.5 mIU/L is associated with greater all cause mortality, and 2.5 isn't even the clinically defined as hypothyroid yet. So there's a bit of a discrepancy between what the medical community would call hypothyroidism and what the science actually says is dangerous. There's plenty of people walking around with TSH's below 5 but above 2.5. They're at an increase risk of chronic disease, especially heart disease. But doctors won't do anything about it. If you exist in that "sub clinical" but dangerous range and no one will prescribe you thyroid you could try surrogates like caffeine. But caffeine is more adrenergic than thyroid, and people with low thyroid tend to have more adrenaline. So coffee could make the situation worse if you're already prone to adrenaline surges.

RE: I will show you why I am an anarcho capitalist libertarian
I would also add a lot of people call themselves libertarians but I don't think they've actually read extensive amounts of libertarian theory. For example, most people in the MAGA movement see themselves as libertarians, or at least libertarian adjacent. Not even close, lol. They like co-opting the title libertarian because it makes them seem like they support liberty. But when you get into the weeds of the theory, they share nothing in common with the most rudimentary libertarian policies on stuff like defense spending, tariffs, drug war, immigration, etc.

@Sugar said in I will show you why I am an anarcho capitalist libertarian:
I agree with a lot of what you said here. People are trying to hit you with gotcha questions because they disagree with libertarian politics.
I agree with libertarian economic theory and civil libertarianism. I just think the ethical framework libertarians use to wrap everything up in is a bunch of hogwash. Natural Law is essentially "god" without the mysticism. It's just another faith based system. And utilitarians would literally murder your wife and kids if it benefited everyone else. Max Stirner (and Nietzsche) expose that bullshit for what it really is. Might makes right, that's the only ethical framework that really matters. We do things that better us because it suits us, no need to dribble useless world salad on it.

RE: Androsterone
If you're already hypogonadal then you might have low estrogen from the start, which makes this an entirely different ball game. Hypogonadal males should probably stay clear of the 5-ar's until they get their T levels back in the green.

RE: Androsterone
@GreekDemiGod I took it with Pansterone, applied to the scrotum. The undesirable excessive GABA effects hit me long before the low E symptoms do. Same with large amount of DHT. But andro is slightly worse about this. I hypothesize that it's because DHT breaks down into both andro and epiandro, so you're likely getting a little bit of adrenaline with the DHT that you don't get with the androsterone. I've never used either of them in full 6-8 week cycles, so maybe if someone stuck with it they'd start getting low estrogen idk.

RE: Androsterone
@Kilgore I initially started with 5-7 drops applied to my navel area as per this recommendation. Then I started adding to my pulse points later on, like my wrists, side of the neck, etc. when I was experimenting with it as a pheromone. I still felt the physical effects even when applied to pulse points, but if you're using it solely for it's physiological effects then might as well apply it to the navel to increase absorption.
