You can try doxylamine succinate (an antihistamine, also known as Sleep Aid) at bedtime to help with a reset. Also some hot cocoa sweetened with sugar (or better dextrose). These always work for me.

RE: Glucose loading cures everything?
@yerrag What's in it for him? He told me his client fees are "whatever you can afford" meaning free for some. His books are by no means best sellers. He for sure isn't in this to get rich.
I see in Dr Stephens what made me a fan of Dr Peat many years ago. He believes everyone should have access to free or affordable health information that, instead of filling the coffers of the medical industrial complex, will actually promote health and well-being for any and all, and that it shouldn't only be accessible to the wealthy and elite.
So being the perennial lab rat that I am, I'm happy to participate in what may end up being a massive paradigm shifting experiment. So far so good.

@Insomniac I wonder what the rest of their diet looked like. You can't eat fast food and fries every day (I never do). His 100% cure rate is from people who actually worked with him. It isn't fair to judge him based on anything other than that.

RE: Glucose loading cures everything?
@Insomniac I get it. Being cautious is never a bad idea. There are enough of us willing lab rats that it's ok to sit this one out.

RE: Glucose loading cures everything?
@happyhanneke I don't seem to be. Aside from the initial water retention I seem to be holding.
-
RE: Glucose loading cures everything?
@Insomniac I've also read everything and listened to every podcast I could find. There IS science to back this up so definitely not "faith based."
-
RE: Glucose loading cures everything?
@Insomniac 25 grams 4 times a day is the beginning protocol.
-
RE: Glucose loading cures everything?
@Insomniac I agree. I'm also following the protocol, but started taking a regular dose every 2 hours, and stopping when I get sleepy. Large random doses may be causing some of the "scary" symptoms a few are reporting.

@Razvan Another possibility is a herxheimer reaction due to the brain healing. One of the first things that happpened to me on dextrose was swelling, and I'm still experiencing that in various parts of my body to a lesser degree. I've never experienced brain healing before so have no point of reference, but I do become sleepy after 3 or so doses of dextrose.
Dr. Stephens told me (email) you will experience a few "bumps" on the protocol. I'm waiting to hear back to schedule a consultation with him. Maybe I'll have a clearer picture of what's happening.

RE: Glucose loading cures everything?
@Razvan So how much dextrose did you take and for how long?

RE: Glucose loading cures everything?
@Razvan How much dextrose were you taking and for how long? Did you have a consultation with Dr. Stephens?

RE: Glucose loading cures everything?
@evan-hinkle said in Glucose loading cures everything?:
@Razvan is it possible that you simply lowered stress hormones with the dextrose inducing the “coma” state you suggested?
Also, have you used a blood glucose monitor to check blood sugar? I believe the A1C is an average level, not an acute one right?
Just playing devils advocate. Of course I have no more information than anyone else, (especially regarding one’s own body).
Exactly this. It will calm all stress hormones right down. If you run on cortisol/adrenaline you might not feel very alert for a while taking glucose.

RE: Glucose loading cures everything?
@Peatful Yes, dextrose is glucose. The glucose therapy is powerful whereas I never had any noticeably positive effects from sucrose...just weight gain.
-
RE: Glucose loading cures everything?
@evan-hinkle I haven't tested fruit since being on glucose, but my teeth and gums also seem to be doing great.
-
RE: Glucose loading cures everything?
@Peatful Eating sucrose isn't the same as glucose therapy. Sucrose can definitely cause BS spikes. And I've eaten sucrose for years but continued to decline. Glucose therapy is definitely not to be confused with regular sugar in high amounts (which I won't do).
-
RE: Glucose loading cures everything?
@Peatful How long did you take glucose?
-
RE: Glucose loading cures everything?
@Peatful I'm taking 200+ grams daily (a week in). I haven't needed a trip to the hospital yet.

RE: Glucose loading cures everything?
@Razvan Dr Stephens says it's perfectly safe. He has hundreds of patients and high blood sugar levels have not been reported. He has literally nothing to gain by being dishonest. He doesn't even sell dextrose. (I asked him.)
