@Regina that’s what had me so interested. I may be oversimplifying it, but I assume Nathan is using bamboo silica with lemon as almost an aspirin like substance. Given Haidut’s recent work on tumors with B vitamins and aspirin I thought perhaps we had that gold standard of two researchers reaching a similar conclusion independent of one another.

RE: BIOHACKING by Nathan Hatch, "F*** Portion Control"
@S-Holmes I guess I was expecting something rather quickly based on his turning around a migraine inside 45 minutes, but typically I do find it takes a few weeks to a few months to see the benefits of various prometabolic strategies, so I’m sure you’re right.
Please do report back. I read his book a few years ago and it seemed like he was able to turn his health around, but I think his weakness is in editing. I think he has a tendency to overcomplicate his explanations, (might just be that I have a personal preference for simplicity). Nathan was user Natedawgg on the old forum for those who may not be familiar, (he was banned long ago).

RE: BIOHACKING by Nathan Hatch, "F*** Portion Control"
@S-Holmes I read this too, seemed interesting and so I trialed some bamboo silica in lemon juice and didn’t notice anything personally. I made sure to follow it up with some sugar as well, juice, dates, but couldn’t perceive anything.
I’m a very immediate responder to pro-metabolic substances typically. In just minutes I can notice better skin, vision, breathing, etc from various substances, so I would have expected something along those lines, but nothing.
Hoping someone else trialed this and has something to share.

RE: Is living next to these things bad for your health?
You could always cover that wall with tin foil or some other such kinda of faraday fabric. Do you have an EMF meter? You could at least see if it’s something to worry about before considering taking action to mitigate it.

RE: GHK-Cu
I tried this a year or two ago. Nothing noticeable to report on my end. I have nothing but good to say about BPC-157, so I’ve been open to experimenting with other peptides, (obviously not the GH ones) but so far don’t seem to notice much from anything but BPC

RE: maple syrup?
It’s what I use predominantly to sweeten my coffee and milk. Unlike white sugar there’s more nutritional content too so it’s not just straight rocket fuel, (and has a decent amount of B12 if I remember correctly?).

RE: Chronic tinnitus?
Peat’s been quoted saying he thought it had to do with gut irritation. I just “discovered” I had tinnitus too, (not sure how long I’ve had it, but I remember not having it).
Recently I’ve been using 50mg of lidocaine on an irregular basis to see if I can get my inflammation down. I’ve used cypro in small doses a few times a week for about a year, and next am going to trial Lapodin.
I’ve had gum disease since I was a teenage, (in my 40s now) so I assume I have a lot of work to do. I’d love if anyone could chime in with things that have helped.
Oh, one weird thing, when I swim underwater, it’s gone. Just discovered that last summer. Not sure if that indicates anything?

RE: Bloodshot eyes
@onliest redlight, not near or far infrared, just led red lights, directed at the eyes for about 20 seconds. Take some time in between “reps” but I am able to repeat this as necessary. Nice clear whites of your eyes, and slight vision improvement is what I get from it, (YMMV).

RE: Nasal congestion remedies
@Uroš I second this. My nasal congestion has always been a symptom of gut irritation. Cypro, Benadryl, glycine, making homemade jello all help tremendously. Sounds like raising CO2 worked for you, (aspirin, oj, baking soda). Maybe try bag breathing as well?

RE: Any experiences with DHT?
@Santosh great to see you here! I have always followed your experimentation with great interest!

RE: A combination of vitamin B1/B3/B7 and aspirin, has curative effects on human mantle-cell lymphoma
@OxidisedOolong yep, weight is holding steady, I’ve also noticed that I don’t seem to need the upper end of the calories anymore, (I’ve had to really be cognizant of whether I’m eliciting a stress reaction or not, and eat accordingly). I’ve settled more into the 3800 calorie side of the equation, (maybe the additional ATP let my body upregulate an immune response temporarily and I just needed more calories to get over that hump?).

RE: Vitamin D3 may cure H. pylori (HP) infection
@haidut one such Vitamin D derived peptide is known as LL-37, and there are anecdotal reports of it curing persistent foot fungus, (the kind “nothing” seems to work on) and lifelong “gluten intolerance.”
I know peptides get thrown into the trash bin of “bro science,” (and understandably not without reason) but I wish there was more data on them. While many of them work in ways contrary to a bioenergetic approach, I believe others synergize, and the MOAs are not clearly understood.

RE: Immunodeficiency driven by mitochondrial dysfunction, can be reversed
Very interesting, I’ve had issues with runaway inflammation for years, but it’s only been in the last few as I incorporated Peat’s ideas that I’ve been able to sense it. Recently I’ve had tons of success with aspirin and b vitamins, but on occasion, (for reasons I’m still not sure on) I will get a big inflammatory response the entire length of my alimentary canal. I can literally see the inflammation of my gums when this happens.
Recently on a whim I tried some Panquinone, and the inflammation abated immediately. I checked the old thread on Panquinone for information about it being an anti-inflammatory, but there was no such mention. Sure enough, today I come across this information, and I have my answer!
Many thanks for your work Haidut!

RE: The pro-metabolic effects of apple polyphenols
@Mauritio thanks for continuing to update us. I myself have increased my apple consumption, but never pulled the trigger on an apple polyphenol supplement. Have your results come from primarily eating apples or are you supplementing the polyphenols as well?

RE: Vitamin E as solvent for hormones
If I remember correctly Vitamin E has an affinity for the brain, and thus any hormone in it would favor brain health. I believe Ray mentioned this when asked about the formulation of Progest-E, but this effect is not limited to progesterone.

RE: Thyroid Therapy for Chronic Digestive Issues
First thing I noticed was that 3.7 TSH. Ray mentioned on many occasions that he rarely heard of anyone claim they were in good health when TSH was above 1.

RE: Peaty way to get rid of Blackheads & Sebaceous Filaments
@sam orally. Different doses for different lengths of time until my diet caught up to the concepts Peat offers.
Currently I’m using Georgi’s recent study to resolve a thyroid nodule, (large doses of B vitamins) but my skin is the best it’s been since I was a child. I had acne at 11, and dermatitis at 30, so clear skin for me is a feat.

RE: Peaty way to get rid of Blackheads & Sebaceous Filaments
@thyroidchor27 yep, B vitamins improved my skin greatly, especially B1, 3, and 7.

RE: Preventing SIBO from reocurring.
My wife seems to have eliminated her lifelong SIBO after experimenting with B1. She’s tried many types, but regular old thiamine HCL seems to work just fine for her.
