Thanks for sharing. I've been researching online to help my father with diarrhea. I'm hesitant to recommend TUDCA, simply due to my very bad reaction to it. Do you only get benefits from it?

Yeah, the list goes on and on. I have many notes with many ingredients to try. Looking at my lists is almost a deterrent more than a motivator, because of of knowing what a long trial and error process it will be.I forget if we've talked about taurine on this thread, but that's relatively cheap and there has been a lot of talk about it for hair over the last 10 years or so. Believe it or not, I believe I get sides from topical taurine, which are the same sides I get from taking it internally, which is fatigue and lethargy, but it's not as bad. Taurine gives me what I could define as very adaptogenic benefits, until the side effects kick in. It's a clear de-stressor for me and is one of the most system balancing supplements I've ever taken — at least it makes me feel that way. If it weren't for the side effects, I would take it regularly.

Yes, I tend to make my own tinctures, extracts to be able to control the ingredients.@Hearthfire
That's a nice mixture, but on the costly side for 2oz. Granted, the initial cost to buy all those ingredients wouldn't be cheap; so, if someone had the budget, I could see the convenience factor outweighing the cost. -

Now that is a lot of reviews. I wonder if those are all real.Maybe the topical usage of PUFA would not be as big of a factor, but the first three ingredients are:
Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Glycine Soja (SOYbean) Oil, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil,

I do have licorice root on a reminder as well, to test various methods of delivery — which I've been snoozing for months now, with my original note being from years ago. I got this idea from Travis, who was a very knowledgeable member at RPF. I couldn't keep up with his knowledge and theories, but I gleaned that licorice root would provide enoxolone, which at the time he felt was a key factor in preventing hairloss. -
RE: Sleeping Less
@NARINGENIN
There's probably a more scientific description for this, but I've found that whenever your working hours and endeavors are occupied with a subject that you're truly interested in, less sleep is required. The drudgery of work is overcome by the quest to learn and become better in a field. It's probably also fair to say not too many people can sustain this over a lifetime, due simply to the chaotic nature of life: necessity usually comes in and sullies things. -

Good information. I kind of like the potency aspect of the rosemary oil, assuming that it is indeed more potent, in the hopes that it will produce better results. But, for going to work and being out in public, the water based makes sense. But maybe in this case more potent smelling doesn't necessarily equal more effective.Coconut and peppermint oil have been talked about and used for as long as I can remember; so, could be beneficial to add those in as well, like Hearthfire does. I've used that entire combination throughout the years: castor, coconut, rosemary, and peppermint. I've also used lavender, eucalyptus, and cedarwood. I do remember a few years back cedarwood was being talked about for hair growth.
One oil that was really talked about quite some time back was emu oil. It's really hard to know if these are legitimate pro-hair ingredients or if industries promoted them, in an attempt to make money.

I've tried rosemary throughout the years, and I have it on a reminder to use again. Any thoughts on why the tincture or tea would be more absorbable than the oil?@Hearthfire Good news on the Diclofenac.

Thank you for sharing. I've always wondered how any issues would be handled with out of country, Mexican pharmacies. Strange that they wouldn't honor the information you've sent them. I will make a note to go with another pharmacy, should I use the out of country options. -
RE: Best remedies and interventions for receding gums?
@Jennifer
Well said — trust your taste buds. I don't think it's an accident I like many of the spices and herbs that have medicinal value. Indeed, I think we are in a state of unlearning, at least in the West, taking back our health from professional medicine gone askew. -
RE: Diclofenac gel to regrow hair on bald head and beard
That is quite a contrast: 3mm vs .5mm. I'm all for less pain, so I may try the .5mm approach. And I hear you, @wester130, where the deeper penetration may not equal more pain, but I think I'm going to try this .5mm for 3 months.
Some things worth pointing out are that the participants in the study were primarily women: 14 men, 31 women, and maybe even more surprising, they only microneedled every 2 weeks. That kind of blows my mind. All the years I've researched microneedling, the general consensus was to microneedle as frequently as you can get away with. This new approach is really the best of both worlds — less pain, less work.

Very nice. Also interesting that you're implementing your PGD2 down, and PGE2 up strategy, with the castor oil. Will be good to see how that does. -

@wester130 said in Diclofenac gel to regrow hair on bald head and beard:
have you considered dermastamping (not rolling) once a week
about 2.5mm is a good length for once a week
I'm a proponent of dermastamping (I have a Derminator) and have done it in the past, but I've never done 2.5mm. That's a little Medieval! I used to do 1.5mm once a week, and it left my scalp pretty torture chamber looking. Maybe I'll work my way up to 2.5mm. Really, I'm just attempting to establish a plan, with regard to how to approach hair loss. I've tried many things, over several decades, and nothing has kept me ahead of the curve. I'd have to say red light (laser), castor oil, and maybe copper peptides have helped keep what was there, but nothing for instance has given me the success this guy below has had.
P.S. Sorry for the large images. I've attempted to scale them down via markdown, but didn't have any luck.
He says:
"I started using the Derminator 2 to microneedle my scalp along with Minoxidil around the end of March. I go once a week at 1.5mm. My results are really good. The befores are from March 18th of this year, about a week before starting the microneedling, and the afters are from Sept. 29 of this year."

Wow, that is potent oregano; and now that you mention it, it is actually Greek oregano that I'm using in my oregano extract. I didn't purposely seek out Greek, but in my research it seemed to be quality. I definitely don't mind oregano in food, and actually like dishes that have it in it. Your using it as a tea is a good idea, when using it as a supplement.Very interesting about belladonna. I've never heard of that before, but will keep it in my notes for gall bladder issues. You've had to overcome a lot, but it's made you knowledgeable in the process.

RE: Does anyone use the Thorne d and k (in one) drops?
Just reporting back here that my first experience with micellized D3 did not go well. Was really hoping this would be the trick to getting D3. Unfortunately, I felt anxious and very off, then a typical malaise. I believe the anxiety was due to some hormonal change, to use a very unscientific description. The one thing different from most other supplements, especially fat-based D3, was that the heavy malaise did not last long at all, where it usually always does — days. When I get the courage, I'll try this again.

Well, no sides is good news. Hopefully another month will bring some good results. -
RE: Best remedies and interventions for receding gums?
@Jennifer
I have a hope that the tea will be the mildest of all my options — meaning, no bad side effects. I do remember reading about oregano on RPF and someone having good results for gums and oral health. I have made an extract with oregano in vodka, but gargling and rinsing with it was so harsh it got me sick. I may test that again, more diluted. I do have the oil diluted as well. Oregano is such a potent herb, I think I conveniently forgot about it after my experience with it. For me. it doesn't have the appeal of other spices where its scent and taste are appealing, like cinnamon, anise, or cardamom. Even strong clove I think is a more appealing than oregano. Even so, I will put it back on my list of things to retry. I wasn't aware of the progesterone properties of it. That is good to know — and good to know Peat likes it. -
RE: Creativity & Caffeine
@James I feel less creative on caffeine. Activities that benefit from finesse and nuance, and as you say, wandering, tend to be more difficult and less appealing while on caffeine. More simplistic, immediate, and focused types of physical or mental activities tend to work with caffeine, though I don't have a large range of experience to judge it by. For instance, working out or playing a first person shooter (computer game), seems to be helped by caffeine; though, I haven't used it with working out in many years. Using design software or creative writing tends to be hindered by caffeine, for me.
