RE: New "Mission" of RPF
I read a very interesting quote on the ray peat forum in one of the most recent threads:
"Here you go. Garrett Smith prefers sunflower oil , #ggenereux claims that coconut oil is no good because it delivers vit A all around your system and now biochemist Karen Hurd calls it coconut fad . Who would think...
Mitochondria converts saturated fat into unsaturated fat through the beta oxidation cycle , 6 step process, within which you create free-radical damage , that is radical oxidative species which damage your DNA within cells . Now you know why you have aging , gray hair , cancer ...
We alter our DNA because we have these free radicals because we had to turn bad fat (saturated) into a good fat (unsaturated)..."As far as I know, it's very rare for saturated fat to convert into unsaturated fats. I've only read one study where they needed technology to convert it.
https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S1369703X23001559
Does anyone with a better understanding of biochemistry know if it's common for this conversion?

RE: New "Mission" of RPF
@Hando-Jin I don't even know where to begin on this!

RE: Experiments with transdermal hormones
@thyroidchor27 Ray say the average healthy male produces around 7mgs a day of testosterone. To be safe, 7mgs shouldn't shut down the gonadal axis.

RE: Extremely hypothyroid after gluten/wheat?
@xand you're a young sprout. Find out what foods irritate your gut and avoid them just like wheat. I'm sure you'll be fine
-
RE: Are beards ACTUALLY genetic?
@hwisdom no you probably don't produce a lot of dht

RE: New "Mission" of RPF
RPF states the weather in Dallas has knocked down it's site. Dallas is where the datacenter is. Something tells me this isn't the case

RE: Peaty Looksmaxxing?
@lanadelesoteric Peat said weight lifting is fine. He suggested nothing too strenuous nor lifting in a set for more than 30 seconds

RE: Countries with most bald men in the world
@Samyo I don't buy this. I was in Spain half a year ago and the native population of men under 50 had plenty of hair

RE: Toxic Bile Theory
@Insomniac telling people 5 years to better health is a blank check to say whatever you want. Most people will be skeptical within a few months. After a year, I assume the majority of people would give up.
I'd tend to agree that it's healthier than keto or veganism. Eating beans all the time would be miserable for most people

RE: Toxic Bile Theory
@epstein-jeffery it doesn't pass the sniff test.
"If you don't get sick, you're not properly detoxing." Ok guy.
"It can take up to 3-5 years to detox and feel better." That's peak delusion.

@ThinPicking lol!
No one is coping, Garrett. You should be coping that your arms are the size of peanuts

RE: T3 pooling from low cortisol?
@BroJonas there has to be some truth because Ray suggested if you had cortisol issues to take t3 with pregnenolone. I'm not sure how prevelant it is or how much it related to low or high cortisol.

RE: New "Mission" of RPF
@Creuset I believe he mentioned it a few years ago. Possibly in 2021 or 2022

RE: New "Mission" of RPF
@C-Mex good question. It's possible business was slowing down. And he thought this was a possible way to cause traffic to RPF and thus to his store. I wonder if @haidut might have a better idea

RE: New "Mission" of RPF
@dan-dominic let me clarify. I was referring to Garrett

RE: New "Mission" of RPF
@T-3 my only speculation is money. There's a point where you stick with the basics in a "Peatarian" lifestyle. I use thyroid, vitamin E, dhea, magnesium and occasionally other things such as dht, androsterone and diamox. It's possible Charlie felt that market was saturated and wanted to provide a new market with low vitamin A approved supplements to increase revenue and take his business in another direction.
As far as his identity, I do not care that much to look into him

RE: New "Mission" of RPF
@ilovethesea didn't Charlie say he gained 30 pounds of muscle in a year or so? If that's the case, which I severely doubt, what did he weigh before.
