Update: I just spoke to Mikael at Alive Water and he was very nice and helpful. I think I'm going to try one of his units. I like the simplicity of the design and that it seems like a one man show. Here is his other website that is organized a bit differently https://www.alivewater.ca/

RE: Whats worth knowing about structured water / magnetized water?
@evan-hinkle I have a friend that does plumbing that will be helping me install it. I still haven't been able to get anyone else from Greenfield on the phone. Does your filter have stainless housing? I see some in the replacement filters. Have you ever heard of this company? https://www.alivewater.com/vortex-water-revitalizer-product-description What do you think of their design?

RE: Whats worth knowing about structured water / magnetized water?
@evan-hinkle I called Greenfield and the woman I spoke with was actually very unhelpful. Basically didn't want to get into any recommendations for my specific situation since they are no longer doing whole house systems for well water. I'm going to try to call again on Monday and hopefully get someone else.
Can I ask what your whole house system consists of and if you are on well water? Do you filter it as well as structure it? I haven't had my well tested in a few years, but it has always tested pretty clean in the past. The woman from Greenfield was recommending their 5 stage filter and couldn't tell me the difference between that one and the 4 stage filter. I live in a tiny one room cabin with less than 50 ft of copper pipe that sits on the wall and goes to one tub and one sink. I'm trying to figure out the simplest and cheapest way to filter and structure it all. I mostly want to filter Iron and potentially excess manganese and sediment.

RE: Whats worth knowing about structured water / magnetized water?
@evan-hinkle thanks for your reply. I want to get a system for my tiny one room cabin that has one sink and a bathtub and another for an outdoor hydrant/ hose to draw buckets of water for my livestock. I'm looking at Greenfield and Natural Action Technologies. Would you recommend one over the other?

@evan-hinkle I'm looking at the greenfield water structuring units for my house and garden hose (to water my livestock). Did you have any concern about the silicone balls in the units? I'm still learning about water structuring, but generally avoid silicone.

RE: Vitamin B6 supplement makes me feel great, why? Safe for long-term use?
Can neuropathy be caused by B6 deficiency or just toxicity?

Fibrocystic Breasts
Have any women resolved fibrocystic breasts? After high dosing progesterone this winter mine seemed to have completely resolved. I was barely getting any premenstrual soreness. I lowered the progesterone and now after a few months on a lower dose they are painful and swollen again. It actually started before ovulation and has persisted through the cycle.
I assume this is an indication of high prolactin and estrogen. Am I correct? Is there anything other than progesterone that anyone has found to help?
My diet has stayed consistent and well balanced. I have been trying to figure out correct thyroid supplementation and had tapered off of Tyromax and Tyronene and was trying a low dose of Tyromix. I assume that getting the thyroid dosage dialed in is key, but I'd love to hear anyone else's experience with this symptom.

RE: L. Reuteri
@AinmBeo why do you need more lactose if the milk has lactose already? and do you only use it in the first batch or in all batches?
-
RE: L. Reuteri
@AinmBeo Thanks for your reply.
Do you think the Luvelle would fit quart mason jars?
I see that you use lactose instead of inulin. Does this work better for you? Where do you get your lactose powder? -
RE: L. Reuteri
@AinmBeo I have been looking into making yogurt with L. Reuteri. Have you used these starter cultures https://www.luvele.com/products/l-reuteri-starter-culture-lr-superfood ? Looks better than buying the tablets. Also wondering if you find the Luvele worth the price? I usually just use a cooler with hot water to incubate yogurt for 24 hours or more.

RE: Thyroid inflamation after months of supplementing
@Peatful To clarify, I was pregnant 10 years ago. I have improved my diet tremendously, specifically increasing calories and carbs over the past 3 years. I feel 10 times better than I did at 30 but I still struggle with constipation, low pulse and numbness in my extremities. I didn't want to supplement thyroid at all, but I thought it might be necessary to improve some of my symptoms. How long would you wait until you add a thyroid supplement?
I also would love to have another child before I'm too old and was thinking supplementing thyroid would be wise to figure out before trying to conceive.
I am interested in your approach to healing metabolism and thyroid. What has worked for you? Did you have hypothyroidism and did you ever take thyroid? I have read a lot on the old RPF and some of Ray's writing. I still don't have a clear idea of the best approach when you know you've been hypo your whole life. I do favor food over supplements.

RE: Thyroid inflamation after months of supplementing
@Peatful also, I have had lots of mold exposure my whole life, as well as Lyme and Bartonella. Most of my family is diagnosed with Hypothyroidism and on thyroid. After I had my daughter, my TSH was 60. I was only put on thyroid once by a naturopath when I was 19 or 20. It was Armour and she just kept on increasing the dose because I felt nothing. Eventually I stopped getting my period for almost a year and then decided to stop taking it. I was reluctant to try again until finding Peat's work.

RE: Thyroid inflamation after months of supplementing
@Peatful I was a vegetarian from age 9-30. Was a raw food vegan for some of that time. I was so sick eating that way. Then when I got pregnant I started eating meat (and raising it myself) and did GAPS type diet. I'm 40 now and have been back and forth with restricting sugar in the past 10 years, while trying to heal my gut. In the past 3 years, I have cut out most PUFAs and increased my sugar intake- mostly raw honey, coconut water, and some fruit. I eat lots of raw egg yolks and fresh goats milk. Goat, lamb and some beef. High collagen cuts mostly. Organs. Coconut oil, ghee, butter, raw cheese.

RE: Thyroid inflamation after months of supplementing
4 options i see you could try dosing t3 only as others mentioned , even tho your t4 is low idk might be worth a go, or smaller doses at once, or higher overall dose. or if not then focusing on attempts to lower deiodinase 3 and see if get a response
@cs3000 are you meaning just T3 with all of these options? I was wondering if T3 only still made sense with my T4 still being low.
-
RE: Thyroid inflamation after months of supplementing
@T-3 I was thinking it could be more of a histamine response than an actual allergy. I am recovering from toxic mold exposure for many years, so this could be a possibility. Any dried product is high in histamines.

RE: Thyroid inflamation after months of supplementing
@Peatful I consulted with a naturopath who did recommend trying 4mcg t3 and maybe a half grain of NDT. I am not an established patient of hers, though. I just get blood work done at her practice and she will do short phone consults. I mostly have been working slowly upping the Tyromax dose and then I decided to try some T3. I have been monitoring temps and pulse, which remain about the same. The main symptoms I struggle with are numbness in my arms and legs (which has gotten worse), constipation, heaviness in my chest, and feeling awful in the morning despite getting 8-10 hours sleep.
-
RE: Thyroid inflamation after months of supplementing
@T-3 I was considering the Wilson protocol. What do you mean by it being oversimplified?
I have tyronene and could start with a 8mcg drop per hour, or should I dilute to start? I have been taking 1 drop, 3x a day without noticing much. Temps don't go up.
Do you think my liver enzymes went up, from the T4?
-
RE: Thyroid inflamation after months of supplementing
Just had some labs done. TSH is up to 5.25. was 3.14 in March before I began Tyromax. Free T4 and Free T3 are about the same as in March, both at the lower end of the range. Reverse T3 is elevated. Thyroid Antibodies are up. Both my liver enzymes are also pretty high and this I have never had before in my life.
I dropped down to one grain (7 drops) of Tyromax back when my throat was feeling inflamed and that got better. Now I am thinking of switching to Tyronene only or with Tyromix.
@BroJonas @Ecstatic_Hamster any advice on what might have went wrong for me and how to proceed?
My Prolactin also increased a bit from 4 to 9. and my Methylmalonic Acid was low.

RE: Hot Topic, Humanure - Toxic Waste Being Dumped On Farms, Grazing Land
@S-Holmes I don't have research but I think giving blood helps. Menstruating women have less PFAS. A farm I know milked their cows for a year and dumped the milk and the PFAS levels came way down. I'm worried about microplastics more these days. Just noticed that there was pieces of blue tarp plastic all throughout the bale of certified organic hay that I was feeding my sheep and goats. Losing my mind trying to pick it all out.
