Losing insterest in red meat could mean you have too much iron or zinc or not enough copper, gelatin, and carbs.
Test serum ferritin and tranferrin saturation.
Dandruff or scalp irritation? Try BLOO.

@DBL21 do you think heavy metals are a concern with progesterone and other hormones from China (Purple Panda Labs)?
TSH could be better. Peat says near 0.4 is good. Maybe make sure you are getting enough selenium and iodine.
Watching this thread. I have the same issue. It was temporarily fixed from niacin but only for a few days. Really amazing while it lasted.
For something short term I have found phenibut + l-theanine. Functioning as a sleeping pill. Both work on gaba. Too much gaba can actually dangerously depress the CNS so be aware. Tolerance builds so may be effective only twice per week.
If I find something that consistently fixes it I'll post it here.
According to Dr Berg on YT, acid reflux is caused by NOT ENOUGH acid in the stomach. Maybe test it out.
As for the calcification issue, my understanding is that the body is quite good at controlling serum calcium. With excessive intake less and less will be absorbed. It may block other minerals like magnesium uptake though.
I know someone who ordered guanosine from Sigma. This person also has ordered malic acid and phenylalanine from scbt, another chemical supplier.
Both will sell to you if you have a business address. Say that as a private entity your business conducts research. That the compounds will never leave the facility. Say you are committed to following the guidelines, safety precautions according to the MSDS. You have a lab set up. Etc. It is best to not go into the details for your usage other tgan something vague like "for growing fungus for research". Have a business email address too.
Keep in mind that not all products are pure. They don't always have heavy metal testing. I'm not sure of the concern with this.
Ray Peat has spoken about co2 being healing for everything including bones. Specifically it will accelerate carbonate formation.
Ingesting baking soda. Bag breathing. Other co2 therapy. Breathing modalities.
Anything prometabolic will tend to increase co2 too, like thyroid
A bioenergetic miracle. I went from years of severe sloth to super metabolism perfect feeling. It was from 500 mg niacin for a few days. Then it stopped working. It is my goal to get it back. 95% of people have the in-born ability to achieve this near perfect health, in my opinion.
Marek Diagnostics is generally more affordable compared to link2labs, Life Extension, and ownyourlabs. For a couple tests, Marek is more expensive. Just want to put these names out there so people know.
ownyourlabs has useful information about avoiding biotin-interference with certain tests and other info.
iollo may be the most affordable metabolomics test. measuring amino acids, dopamine, serotonin, DHEA, cortisol, lactic acid, homocysteine, and more.
@Samyo do you flush from niacin? it is used for schizophrenia (not saying you have it). wondering about your response to it

Over a week ago, I sustained a bad concussion and still feel the side effects what is the best way to recover
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy would probably help heal the brain but is expensive. The one where you wear a mask to get the oxygen is probably safer, less explosion risk...
Low dose over the counter Lithium may help. It is peaty. Neuroprotective. Promotes BDNF, brain fertilizer.
Carbon dioxide therapy. I don't know much about it. It is peaty though.

"..arteries dilate, delivering more oxygen-rich blood to the brain"
Important precautions in that link too.
And just simply going for walks or stretching could really help. Light exercise increasing BDNF, tissue oxygenation.

Plus: aspirin, inosine, creatine, collagen, magnesium, thyroids, and CBG (as a 5-HT1A antagonist).
@peatyzilian said in Killing serotonin without drugs:
I've tried all of this things except thyroid (it's impossible to find in my country, Brazil). They don't have much effect on me.
How long did you take the inosine? I remember haidut mentioning in I think an interview that it needs to be taken for a month or two. The dose probably is important too.
@insufferable said in Defanging your computer:
Light and the dopamine it does or doesn't stimulate is also responsible for near-sightedness. Outdoor light stimulates dopamine in the eye, which for some reason is what prevents the elongation of the eyeball which is the reason for near-sightedness. (myopia)
Also do you have a source for this, dopamine preventing elongation of the eye? We need to test out dopamanergic eyedrops
@insufferable said in Defanging your computer:
My iphone screen actually feels less harmful to the eye than my laptop screen. Maybe it doesn't flicker so much. But I'm sure it's very bad too. I really only need a small amount of iphone time sprinkled through the day. It takes 5 seconds to text, maybe you send 50 texts, that's like 4 minutes total per day, broken into very brief exposures.
You can use programs like scrcpy to control your phone with the computer.
@Hussle1738 i don't know how peaty this is, but maybe try picamilon (niacin and gaba bound together).
Gaba taken on its own is probably peaty and haidut has mentioned it does seem to cross the blood brain barrier.
Peat says increasing co2 will have a fantastic effect on gaba. He has mentioned valerian in a positive light with respect to this as well.
Progesterone and pregnenalone (from peat):
"Progesterone and pregnenolone and many other things act on the GABA receptor system. And pregnenolone happens to be one that doesn't have many other hormone-like effects. It's basically a stabilizer at all levels of cells in the brain."
Seems like just going harder into peating will naturally stabilize the gaba system and may rid your nervousness.

@questforhealth I've heard there is so much natural variation in selenium for Brazil nuts that they shouldn't be relied on.
Evaporated milk for calories. Listen to music. Try not to stress about not being able to fall asleep at a certain time, that can make things worse.
@questforhealth I'll try out b1 with iron. Have you considered adding a bit of niacin? It stimulates stomach acid release.
@questforhealth evaporated milk is one of the key things I've been using. I prefer it over condensed milk.
In the past I used green tea extract. Never felt much from it. Green tea lowers iron btw
Something I should mention is one time I found a chunk of mold floating in the evaporated milk. Watch out for that.
