Conclusions: The results of our study confirm the widely held belief that coffee consumption interferes with sleep quantity and quality. In addition, we found that the consumption of caffeine decreases 6-SMT excretion. Individuals who suffer from sleep abnormalities should avoid caffeinated coffee during the evening hours.     @Sugarnotsnow I was fortunate to need little tweaking to fix my hypoglycemia, which was a 4yr cold turkey of PUFAs even before I heard of Ray Peat. So I didn't have to take thyroid to get my metabolism going at a fairly good clip. I did one year of therapeutic magnesium supplementation of 800 m elemental daily, and it was to prepare myself to end my lifestyle of relying on soluble fiber intake for good bowel movement. When I did stop soluble fiber intake, I continued to have good bowel movement with good peristalsis driven by having enough magnesium stores. Still, I have some Tyrone or T3 with me, when coming out of a sick state and my metabolism needed jumpstarting with a little T3.

    @Tarzan17 I think peat recommends small frequent feedings that include all three macronutrients. Carbs, proteins, and fats in the right balance per meal.

I used 800IU of TocoVit vitamin E daily for 30 days and my prolactin dropped from 8.5 to 2.2. My prolactin wasn't elevated so it will work even better for someone with high prolactin.     The title is a bit misleading. Speaks little of beta oxidation but more of sugar mitochondrial oxidation. If we're relying too much in beta oxidation as an an energy source, it will deprive the sugar mitochondrial pathway of oxidative potential or energy to burn sugar mitochondrially, and the alternate sugar pathway of glycolysis will be used. This is where lactate is produced. This leads to lower CO2 production to a point where hypoxia occurs from poor tissue oxygenation, which further restricts sugar metabolism to the glycolytic pathway and less CO2 being produced. This causes blood sugar to be less absorbed and metabolized and for blood sugar to rise to higher levels, which causes it to be converted to fat and for blood sugar to drop excessively to the point of hypoglycemia. With low blood sugar, adrenaline is produced which causes glycogen to be converted to blood sugar. But if glycogen runs out or isn't available, then cortisol will cause body protein to be converted to sugar, and ammonia will be produced in this conversion.

Vitamins A and E are antagonists of vitamin K because they interfere with its absorption and metabolism. Taking a high dose Vit K2 requires transporters that are in limited amount for transport in circulating lipoproteins for subsequent uptake by tissues. How much is too much is not clearly defined. By the way excess Vit E, K and Q10 leaves quinones but our liver has a limited capacity to deal with. I never take Vit A supplement at the same time as the other lipovitamins.

    you might want to cool off a little bit with posting a bunch of claims that are dangerous. Animal studies have shown a moderate overdose can cause liver cancer. 1mg per day safe dose. That's what Ray said. Not that hard to find out what Ray said about Biotin. He saw good things happen with it and then the animal studies in the 50's about liver cancer seemed to have spooked him. So the studies must have been pretty legit I am guessing.
