@monadology To add, I do think there is a non-cortisol cause that adds on as it has been an issue since childhood. So will try a multi-pronged approach.

@Fenômeno I'm guessing you have above average levels of stress. Is that the case ? How well do you sleep ? The responses from other users so far are good, I would focus just on simple things first, good carbs are essential, make sure you have enough through the day and before sleeping (ice cream, milk with a pinch of salt). Your sense of urgency towards this might come from an overactive adrenergic (stress) state, you could take things slower to actually reach a faster, sugar-oxidative metabolism over time. Good leisure as in play, socializing, bonding with family is always a good idea.

@bhspeat I believe it was anywhere from a couple weeks or a month maybe. I switched to Armour after that. I personally wouldn't start with an NDT product like that. I think it will probably just be confusing to figure out what's going on without the ability to be precise. If your temp and pulse are both low and you want to look into thyroid as a tool to get it up, I'd definitely use something like Armor, or Cynomel/Cynoplus. If you haven't seen this article by Danny, it's very helpful. There's a lot of good info on this page as well.

@kgsh1 Interesting, I guess just back off the sun a little. You're lucky to live in a place where you can get enough sun like that. Even in the summer, where I'm at it's always semi-cloudy, except for late June to July.

This could be due (in part) to magnesiums pharmacological effects, particularly blocking glutamate (NMDA antagonism). This has some positive effects on the dopamine system (the "D2" receptor), alongside general relief from excess glutamate (excitotoxicity).

I personally use Redmond Real Salt (from Utah). Their salt rocks can be washed off, then dissolved, then filter the undissolved sediment off, then evoparate the water to get it solid again google pink himalayan salt and microplastics. it seems contaminated due to plastic transport bags they use maybe

If you are having jaundice like symptoms perhaps getting blood work done for liver, kidney, and thyroid function might be helpful. Tightness in the calf can also be a sign of mineral deficiency Dr Peat’s articles on fluid retention Water: swelling, tension, pain, fatigue, aging When energy fails: Edema, heart failure, hypertension, sarcopenia, etc. If the end goal is to restore metabolism some weight gain is inevitable in the short term

@Gull Maybe. That would be due to vitamin E's anti-lipolytic actions. But I would say this probably goes true for pretty much all fats (except MCTs) not just PUFAs.That shift to fat oxidation will lower CO2, thyroid, and NAD+ which will lower metabolic rate. The only unique feature to PUFA is it's also causing electron leakage in the transport chain which causes massive oxidative stress, and is likely where the increase in cancer potential comes from.

@Milk-Destroyer Thank you. It's definitely not something I want to bring up with the person. The inflammation makes sense. I think it stems from feelings of inferiority, like I won't be able to do what the person I'm jealous of is doing. Whenever I start working hard, but am self-focused and not trying to keep up with them, the anxiety and jealousy seems to go away.

@cremes I've already essentially done that the past two weeks. My diet right now is basically fruit, dairy, some semi processed meat, and oysters from cans currently, and will soon have ground beef in there as a protein source (moved and had no dishes so waiting to get some delivered to actually be able to cook again). What would recommend while I'm depleting PUFA to do next? Ideally I want to try to help put together a sort of standard takeoff list to share eventually.

@Uroš said in High sugar diet and cavities: Are there any articles by Ray Peat on this topic? I'm still wondering how a high-sugar diet impacts tooth health. You can look for his statements on some podcasts https://bioenergetic.life/?q=dental+health In general poor dental health is a sign of low thyroid and low levels of D3+K2 and calcium. If you want healthy teeth just correct your thyroid, and vitamin deficiencies, and rinse your mouth with coconut oil or baking soda. Also, avoid fluoride...
