RE: Silicon the dietary nutrient
from THEGORILLAFUND.ORG
"Bamboo is a special plant for gorillas, golden monkeys, and people too! At the Fossey Fund, we have been studying bamboo in relation to mountain gorillas for years, because it’s one of their favorite foods."
Here's a mountain gorilla feasting on bamboo.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O6Vdk2NQdds
Every single nature documentary with gorillas I've ever seen, they're munching on bamboo....Not sure how anyone could possibly not know this.
Always funny when retards confidently state something as fact and they're completely wrong.

RE: Silicon the dietary nutrient
I'm using this currently, been using it for about a month. 70% silica content. Specifically for it's hair benefits. I think it's helping the vellus hair growth regrowth I've been experiencing.
I take it as supplement and I put it in my hair growth shampoo. Also noticed my shits have been a lot better, seemed to start happening after I started taking this. Nothing else in the diet changed.
I mean, think about it. Gorillas eat this shit, it's the bulk of their diet. Look how massive, muscular and healthy they are. Hair growing all over.
Sometimes it really is as simple as looking at nature and drawing a logical conclusion. Good for monke = good for me. -
RE: Why didn't Peating™ work for Charlie of the Ray Peat Forum dot com?
I noticed a few days ago when I visited for the first time in months that the "low toxin" labels were nowhere to be seen on the front page. Today there's two, and one is a thread about how low vitamin A diet made him hypothyroid. Can't make this shit up.
I guess the euphoria is over, and none of them will admit they were wrong
Yikes.
Admin probably desperately searching for a new holy diet.

RE: What are the best natural/non-prescription anti-fungals?
@BioEclectic Thanks for the reply. This is actually for a family member. I'll advise to use iodine. If that doesn't work we'll try the tea tree oil and maybe some peppermint/rosemary. I also ordered some Lotramin which is supposed to be effective against it.

What are the best natural/non-prescription anti-fungals?
Specifically for suspected ringworm. Anyone have recommendations? Tea tree oil is supposed to be good as well as peppermint oil, from some quick google searches. I also have rosemary oil.

RE: Holy Basil: Phyto-TESTOSTERONE, Progesterone and thyro-mimetic ?
@Mauritio Interesting. Keep us posted.
I gotta order a bunch of seeds soon. I'm gonna grow a ton of it to experiment with and put in stir fry.

RE: Diclofenac gel to regrow hair on bald head and beard
@sushi_is_cringe I'd be interested in seeing that if you can find it. No worries though. We agree it works, I just think rosemary edges it out.

RE: Diclofenac gel to regrow hair on bald head and beard
I think it works, but from what actual human studies have shown and from what I've seen online from the overwhelming amount of people providing testimony of things that have worked, rosemary is on top. It's not even close.
I'm gonna need a little more than some random coach you know to prove that it's more effective than rosemary. I think rosemary and peppermint works synergistically, along with other oils like tea tree oil, as they all have anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties, along with the ability to increase blood flow to the scalp etc. Mix them all into castor oil. A lot of people have had incredible results with just castor + rosemary.
No reason to box yourself off to just one.

maybe 0.5 better for of head and deeper for front
The studies showed 0.5mm is best, but Perfect Hair Health recommends 0.5 to 0.8. Best to stay under 1mm probably, although I've seen some people who did seriously gory wounding on their head with microneedling and had unbelievably good results after, so I don't know if the studies fully capture the full picture, and different people might respond differently. Just gotta experiment I guess.

RE: Diclofenac gel to regrow hair on bald head and beard
@sushi_is_cringe They're not. It's been studied. 0.5mm produces the best results https://youtu.be/LxHNpkIKW0E?feature=shared&t=601

RE: Diclofenac gel to regrow hair on bald head and beard
@wester130 Minoxidil does not cause endless shedding. Neither does rosemary. Rosemary is superior to peppermint for regrowth.

RE: Diclofenac gel to regrow hair on bald head and beard
@wester130 0.5mm is supposed to be better. Why 2.5mm? sounds painful
I could barely tolerate 2mm

@Mossy said in Diclofenac gel to regrow hair on bald head and beard:
Believe it or not, I believe I get sides from topical taurine, which are the same sides I get from taking it internally, which is fatigue and lethargy,
Taurine is a muscle stimulant but also a mind relaxer. It improves your length and deepness of sleep, I've tested it, it works almost too good. That's why you get lethargic on it. People (myself included) also use it in pre-workouts, it is supposed to help with performance and recovery.
Taurine is also a common ingredient in hair growth shampoos, it's in Bloo and some others I've seen. It is known to help with hair growth. I'm using it in my homemade shampoo.
I've been trying to add it to my drinks more often, just sprinkle a little in there. I have to do a large dose to make me feel lethargic, but I've found even smaller doses help with sleep.
Update on diclofenac: Too early to say still, but I swear my vellus hairs are getting thicker in number and longer and some are going terminal in areas where I haven't had terminal hairs in a long time. The biggest changes to my routine has been the diclofenac, some hair growth supplements, and using a gua sha stone pretty vigorously.
I'm gonna add MSM into my routine to thicken the vellus hair, topical and oral. Also saw palmetto topical and oral.

RE: Diclofenac gel to regrow hair on bald head and beard
If you don't want to make your own and don't want any bad ingredients, here's a good one:
https://fountainheadhair.com/products/rosemary-lavender-growth-oil
Never used this product but its from someone who is into natural, organic non-toxic products. You don't get a lot, but you get the convienience of it being ready made and without any weird ingredients, just the oils.

RE: Diclofenac gel to regrow hair on bald head and beard
All I've seen is that everyone says rosemary is better, including the Perfect Hair Health youtube channel IIRC. With peppermint, there were some studies done on mice that showed regrowth, but no studies on humans that I'm aware of. Rosemary was studied on humans and shown to be as effective as minoxidil.
I do think peppermint is beneficial. It's antifungal/antibacterial and increases blood flow. It's in the Dr Bronners castille soap I use as shampoo, so I get rosemary and peppermint. Both bases covered.
-
RE: Diclofenac gel to regrow hair on bald head and beard
Sometimes I mix it with castor oil. Sometimes I just do the rosemary and massage/gua sha. Depends on what I have time for. It's harder to wash the castor oil out of your hair than the rosemary oil.
I also make a homemade shampoo using Dr Bronners castille soap, and I put some rosemary oil in that along with other ingredients that are good for regrowth.

RE: Diclofenac gel to regrow hair on bald head and beard
I don't know, what's the thought process @wester130 ?
Maybe you can leave it in longer than the oil since it isn't as messy and potently fragrant. I can only do one hour or two with the rosemary oil. Stuff is strong.
-
RE: Diclofenac gel to regrow hair on bald head and beard
@wester130 Some studies have shown rosemary as effective as minoxidil, definitely a good bet. Some people reported tea made from the leaves as effective. I'm using the oil. I'm having good regrowth, but since I'm doing so many other things I can't say if it's the rosemary. I think it's helping. I can definitely feel it has an effect on the scalp after using it.
Also, diclofenac update: Still no side effects. Still using same dosage. Every other day/every few days.

RE: Holy Basil: Phyto-TESTOSTERONE, Progesterone and thyro-mimetic ?
I've grown basil the last few years, it's amazing in stir fry. I got almost addicted to it, I wonder if my body was craving the effects it was having without me consciously noticing
I know what I'm definitely growing again this year
I'll probably do italian basil and holy basil to test out both.
