I used it every day for about 10 days after which I did not need to use it any more to maintain the benefits. I saw visual benefits within the first day and benefits as regards itchiness/irritation of the skin within hours.

I was using a pure C8:0 triglyceride product

I do not know which/if any yeast were present or were causing the condition. If you go on PubMed, and search for Seborrheic Dermatitis, you will find some studies claiming that there is a spectrum between Seb Derm and other inflammatory skin conditions such as psoriasis meaning that there is no clear distinction. My present thinking is that the saturated fatty acids themselves improve epidermal function or outcompete the unsaturated fatty acids and thereby decrease inflammation for reasons described by Haidut in the thread I linked.

Seborrheic Dermatitis (SD) cured by Topical Caprylic Acid (C8:0)Triglycerides
Since about the age of 20, I've suffered from seborrheic dermatitis on the nasolabial folds, chin, eyebrows, neck, and scalp. After doing much research, I found a couple of treatments that seemed plausible to try.
Protocol
The one that worked was topical application of C8:0 triglycerides to the affected area. Within days, symptoms began to abate. After about a week of consistent daily application to the skin, I no longer needed to apply it at all and my skin remains clear.Mechanism of Action
While the exact MOA is difficult to know for sure, based on the research that I've done, I have a theory.According to this study,
"Malassezia utilizes human sebum triglycerides as food, and the metabolites such as oleic acid and arachidonic acid cause aberrant epidermal differentiation, barrier defects, and inflammatory response"
So, the yeast Malassezia consumes triglycerides found in the sebum and leaves behind the inflammatory unsaturated fatty acids which then destroy the epidermis.
The C8:0, I think, when applied topically is absorbed by the skin and is used by the skin cells to rebuild and combat the effects of the unsaturated fatty acids. In addition, C8:0 has anti-fungal effects, which may simply be due to the fact that the saturated fat is absorbed by the host and is used to mount an effective immune response and restore barrier integrity.
For an in-depth explanation as to the benefits of saturated fats for decreasing inflammation, read Haidut's post on methylated SFA
Conclusion
I think that you can take this as very strong evidence of just how harmful the unsaturated fatty acids are for us and how healthy the saturated fats are, as replacing one with the other is able to restore even fairly seriously compromised skin barriers. -

RE: Do you guys think Dave Asprey will steal my coffee recipe?
@BioEclectic probably the same effects as those from other burnt organic matter, like burnt meat. Carcinogenic.
-
RE: Do you guys think Dave Asprey will steal my coffee recipe?
@basebolt I think because of the heavy metals that accumulate in it and the iron

RE: Bloo Review
@wester130 I see. So why not add in table sugar to the bloo product so that there is ~5g per serving?
-
IV FAD?
With the popularity of IV NAD+ infusions, why is no one doing FAD+ infusions? Aren't both NAD+ and FAD+ involved heavily in the ECT? Is there a reason why IV FAD is not used that I'm overlooking?
-
RE: Bloo Review
@wester130 Why is that a bad problem to have? Just eat more sugar, right

RE: let's create the perfect T supplement
@wester130 what would you replace the 40% with?
-
RE: let's create the perfect T supplement
@wester130 From the RP forum, 50% Ethanol 50% alpha-tocopherols in EVOO worked real well, transdermal absorption

Time, Human Consciousness and Hesiod's Theogony
A number of years ago I remembered making a connection between Zeus' defeat of his father, Cronos, and the emergence of human consciousness.
Cronos, ruler of the Titans during the "golden age" had learned that that his son, Zeus, was fated to vanquish him.
"For he had learned from Earth and starry Heaven
That it was fated for him, powerful though he was,
To be overthrown by his child, through the scheming of Zeus."- Hesiod's Theogony, 467-469
Disturbed by this knowledge, after the birth of each of his sons he
"Swallowed them all down as soon as each
Issued from Rheia’s holy womb onto her knees, With the intent that only he among the proud Ouranians
Should hold the title of King among the Immortals. "- Hesiod's Theogony, 464-466
Rheia, his wife, suffered immeasurable grief. She snuck away to Lyctos where in the dark of Mount Aigaion, she birthed her youngest, Zeus, and hid him in a cave.
She gave to her tyrant husband a stone wrapped in swaddling clothes to swallow in place of her precious one which he did without hesitation.
Meanwhile, Zeus, hidden away from his Father's wrath, matured into boyhood and began to flex his glorious muscles.
Overcome by Earth's clever suggestions,
"A great devious Cronos, gulled by Earth’s
Clever suggestions, vomited up his offspring,
[Overcome by the wiles and power of his son]
The stone first, which he’d swallowed last."- Hesiod's Theogony, 497-500
After which Zeus, having freed the other titans that his grandfather Ouranos had bound in Tartarus, was gifted by them as a sign of their gratitude the mighty thunderbolt, which he used to subdue his father and claim his seat as Ruler of Gods.
Now, what does any of this have to do with human consciousness?
The english words, "chronology", "chronic", "chronometer" are derived from the greek Cronos, which means time. Now, Cronos, the ruler of the world during the golden age, ate each of his sons out of jealousy of being overturned by one of them.
That represents the structure of time, in which each passing moment is devoured by the subsequent one.
Without sufficiently developed consciousness, the entire world is governed by this primordial time. Everything develops according to causes which themselves are blind as to the past or the future. The flow of time with its causal determinism is unbroken (i.e the development of a star, of galaxies, of planets, etc. is governed by material causes each of which is fully determined by the previous one).
Zeus represents the human archetype.
Zeus, with the help of his mother, is able to disrupt the tyranny of primordial time. With sufficient consciousness, the mind is able, through an awareness of the past and the future, to shape the world according to what it perceives as good, not what time already had determined for it.
Whenever we act in a way that weighs the evidence of the past with the probability of the future, we are doing something that even the Greeks (I think) recognizied as having incalculable value. We are doing something that not even stars and galaxies can do. We are shaping time, hence the worship of Zeus.
Of interest, it is directly after the myth of Zeus' defeating his father that Prometheus, the myth containing the first humans, appears.

RE: Revisiting Oral Testosterone
@wester130 Thank you. Any idea as to the solubility of T or DHT in tocopherols? For example, in Tocovit? Will be interesting to see how oral with tocopherols vs transdermal with DMSO + Ethanol or IPM + MCT + Ethanol will work.

RE: Revisiting Oral Testosterone
@wester130 Any suggestions of where to source the vitamin E? Do you think that idealabs tocovit would suffice?

Topical Steroid Solubility and Absorbtion
I'm preparing to create a solution containing Testosterone, DHT, P4, and DHEA for topical administration.
Based on Haidut's product Cortinon, P4:DHEA ratio should be at least 3:1. For the T:DHT ratio, I want to try 4:3, with a 1:1 ratio of androgens to precursors. So, in total it would be T:DHT:P4:DHEA = 4:3:3:1.
Based on some of Haidut's research on RP forum, a solution containing 50% DMSO + 50% of "something else" (he listed ethanol, acetone, glycerol as options) should result in near 100% absorption of the steroids when administered topically.
So, I think 50% DMSO + 50% Ethanol would be a good place to start.
Now, down to the dosing. Based on the solubility data I was able to find for P4 (54.4 mg/mL = 13.6 mg/0.25mL in Ethanol), I think it's reasonable to expect to be able to dissolve 4mg T, 3 mg DHT, 3mg P4, 1mg DHEA in 0.25 mL of 50% Ethanol 50% DMSO. The 0.25 mL equates to roughly 5 drops from a dropper, with each drop being 0.05mL. I would consider 5 drops = 0.25mL to be a single dose.
I plan on sourcing from Purple Panda labs, and then homebrewing using insulin syringes to accurately measure the liquid ( 7.5 mL each of DMSO and Ethanol for a 60 day supply of one dose/day) and a milligram scale to measure the raw powders. To get around the drop size problem, I'll purchase a precision pipette to make sure I'm truly getting 0.25mL per dose.
What do you think of those ratios? Should I change any of them? My goal is to increase muscle mass and strength in the gym. I would consider taking this mixture pre-workout, as it should potentiate its effects rather quickly because of the lack of esters.

RE: Bloo Review
Do you think the ingredients of Bloo have systemic effects? I don't really have problems with my hair or scalp, but I would still consider getting it, especially if you noticed any systemic benefits since the ingredients are quite "peaty".

RE: Anti-Catabolic Steroids with a special property
I think you misunderstood or perhaps I wasn’t clear enough. I want the steroid to be subject to 5 alpha reductase, not already 5 alpha reduced.
