RE: Synthetic thyroid (Cynomel/Cynoplus) vs NDT (Armour, Tyromax) - which one do you do better with?
@Korven This isn't exactly an answer to your question, but I've tried Tyromix and another source of synthetic thyroid. The other brand works a lot better and I wish I had tried something else than the Tyromix sooner. Haven't tried NDT unfortunately.

RE: Incredible archive of every book Dr. Peat has mentioned
WHAT. This is amazing!

RE: Thyroid - best way to take?
@Uroš Don't know what's the optimal but it makes sense taking it with food to slow the absorption to mimic the natural production and release. I just upped to 3 grains and I think the easiest way for me is to take the T3 three times a day with a bigger meal, with only the last meal also containing all of the T4. There's probably individual variance in what works best.

RE: MCAS
@LucyJ Okay! But yes if you're only on 1 grain I would not dismiss the possibility of hypo. Obviously tracking temps and pulse and all that. I dismissed it for a long time since I never saw any big improvements from the Idealabs tyromix/tyronene, but now I'm giving it a shot again with another brand.

RE: MCAS
@Jonk which multi do you take? I have pretty bad reactions to most supps. I think you replied to me on the old RPF suggesting a b vitamin but yeah everytime I try them I seem to get anxiety.(probably because they irritate my super sensitive upper GI) I'm really trying to find a way to commit to cronometer and meal plan as my goals for this year. So will start with one day and see how I go. Thank you
I think it's a Swedish brand.
https://www.svenskhalsokost.se/healthwell-multivitamin-man?da=14-46It's trial and error for sure. Maybe it's safer with liver and oysters since most supplements have side effects. Have you read Broda Barnes Thyroid the unsuspected illness? You mentioned you're on one grain of thyroid. Highly recommend if you haven't read it yet. It's on archive.org

RE: MCAS
@LucyJ I'm in a similar situation. Started taking a multi vitamin recently and seem to help with digestion. Obviously dialing in thyroid dose is important, but making sure you get enough micro nutrients I think can be helpful if you've lacked in appetite for a while. I don't think you need cronometer every day but it can show you "oh I don't get enough zinc and magnesium" and then correcting that.

RE: Thyroid Log
@GreekDemiGod have you ever tried NDT? Just curious, after reading Broda Barnes and some other book which references Barnes a lot, his patients seem to favor NDT over synthetic. I'm myself in the process of upping my synthetic T3/T4 to 30mcg/100mcg Wondering if NDT is something to potentially consider.

RE: Hypersomnia problem?
How many calories are you eating and do you hit all micros? Do you have any symptoms of gut dysfunction, food sensitivities etc?

RE: do you need to get sterile small intestine first before going on raypeat?
@the-MOUSE depends on what you mean hopping on ray peat. If you mean completely switching over to a gallon of milk and lots of orange juice I wouldn't be surprised if you run into problems. I do better with a mix of starches like potatoes and rice and some fruits than either of them alone, and don't do well with lots of fruit juice either. I also recently found tremendous benefit from aspirin+caffeine effervescent tablets where I've had problems with regular aspirin tablets before. Also do really well with lots of calcium from bone meal as I don't do well with dairy. I think finding what works for you is a trial and error process and can also change over time. If you eat according to a "ray peat paradigm" and are perceptive of your own circumstances I don't see why bacterial overgrowth would be an issue.

RE: Calcium supplement
@voldtzeig Okay! I tried making the calcium carbonate work for a while, even mixing with vinegar, but I unfortunately don't digest it well. But we're all different, hopefully it works for you and yours

RE: Calcium supplement
@voldtzeig I saw a Chris Masterjohn video where he recommended bone meal. I think the potential downsides would be heavy metals and phosphate content. I decided to incorporate it myself, hopefully not to my detriment. I digest it really well and it mixes with most foods without much of a taste or change in mouth feel.

RE: What Skincare do y'all use?
I use as little as possible. I don't wash my face, only redistribute the oils on my face (think I saw @Amazoniac bring it up on the RPF). When I shower I put some salt in a bottle to wash my hair. Regular soap under armpits and genitals. If my face is dry out the shower I use a very small amount of coconut oil. A few drops of bottled lemon or lime juice under armpits as deodorant.

RE: Bioenergetic Films
@Ivy Haven't watched it, but just from the synopsis it sounds like it conforms to my thesis. "An uncompromising, visionary architect struggles to maintain his integrity and individualism despite personal, professional and economic pressures to conform to popular standards." The character doesn't need to be of moral upstanding but the struggle needs to be towards something good, true or beautiful. So maybe moral value is too limited, but it cant anyway just be the pursuit of money, power, status or whatever, even if that's a part of the storyline. Maybe I shouldn't comment on it since I haven't seen it but oh well
-
RE: Bioenergetic Films
@Ivy I think one important aspect is that it portrays something of moral value. It might be sad/gloomy/horrific, but if the struggle is towards something of greater moral value, it can still be a "uplifting" movie, even if it ends in catastrophe. The opposite is also true, a movie can be superficially "dopaminergic" or whatever but pushing moral degeneracy.
Most recent thing I watched was the first season of The Terror which was pretty good. Kind of slow in the beginning but good character development. Started watching season 2 (stand-alone) but was very disappointed.

RE: Just bought 1kg eggshell powder. How do I use it?
I never digested eggshells well, I think it was partly because I couldn't ground them up fine enough. But also because it's calcium as carbonate that requires stomach acid you might want to take it with food or even react it before hand with vinegar, that way creating calcium acetate.

RE: How to lower Adrenaline
Agree with what's already mentioned about salt. Having a teaspoon of salt in some water, making sure it's properly dissolved, has been the most potent thing for immediate results for me.
