I believe the avoidance of phosphate is also helpful for reducing hyperactivity in adults.

@Serotoninskeptic Very cool looking site and I'd love to see a review of it if you did get your hands on one.

RE: wisdom tooth trouble shooting
@rapscallion I rarely eat on one side of my mouth because I sometimes get shooting tooth pain from it. Do you recommend use of SSKI for this?

RE: Flu like symptoms from ground meat?
@Serotoninskeptic Not 100% grass fed. I think you could be right. I guess they must've changed most supermarket cattle's feeds at some point and that could be why I used to eat it just fine but now suffer.
I suppose it could also be a drug or pesticide in the feed that is causing this? I'll need to be careful.

Flu like symptoms from ground meat?
I used to eat ground beef and lamb a lot a couple years back when I first started peating and seemed to have no issues at all with it but in the last year I haven't been very lucky with ground meat. I'd say I get flu like symptoms (stuffed nose, sore throat, aching muscles especially shoulders and arms) about 70-80% of the time when I meat ground meat nowdays.
Sometimes it is within 30 minutes of eating the meat, and I can be feeling fine beforehand but feel awful for a couple days after.
I always have some sort of carb source with my meat and I don't get this reaction from other protein sources like eggs, cheese or even collagenous cuts of meat.
What's happening with the ground meat from the supermarket that is causing such awful feelings? All insight is much appreciated

RE: 200mg of progesterone a day
@chuddy You got progesterone pills? That sounds like they'd be synthetic progestins which can be very harmful.

RE: Coconut Ice Cream - Look at those ratios!
Probably nice but calcium won't be as high as regular ice cream without any milk in it

RE: Coconut "Wax": Safe to eat?
I bought it. I am a bit dubious towards the idea of eating it currently. I used it on my skin and it felt good, maybe even better than regular coconut oil.
It has a very faint almost chemically smell but it actually doesn't smell bad.
It says on the tub "Not for internal use" and I imagine if you contact the company to ask them whether you can eat it they will just say the same thing for legal reasons.

Carboxytherapy should be considered

RE: Aspirin metabolism: glycine and beyond
@Amazoniac said in Aspirin metabolism: glycine and beyond:
Pharmacokinetics of Salicylate in Man
"The alkalinizing effect of sodium bicarbonate on urine pH is well known. Less widely appreciated is the fact that certain "nonsystemic" antacids can also increase urine pH. The term "nonsystemic" is therefore a misnomer. Such widely used antacids as aluminum and magnesium hydroxide and calcium carbonate-glycine mixture can increase urine pH significantly [40]. The lower the baseline urine pH, the greater is the effect of the antacid [40]. Since antacids are frequently taken concomitantly with aspirin (often without knowledge of the physician) to reduce or prevent aspirin-induced dyspepsia, an awareness of this potential interaction is important."
Is this implying that it is actually better to take aspirin without a "buffer" like sodium bicarbonate? Edit: I read it wrong, this actually states the opposite correct?

RE: how bad are these biscuits?
@wester130 If you like them then just have them but don't overdo it. If you are okay with oats and wheat then the reduced iron is probably the worst thing in them.

RE: Reduced folate intake may extend lifespan, by restoring metabolic flexibility
I knew when they wanted to mandate supplemental folic acid in flour in the UK that it was potentially harmful and that I should be wary.
Governments are not very good at concealing their hands, are they?

RE: High-fat, low-carb diet may cause obesity, anxiety (by raising serotonin), even suicide
Is it the amount of fat that causes the increased serotonin or the lack of adequate carbs, (or both)? I'm wondering if one can still have a good portion of their calories coming from full fat dairy and cheese without raising serotonin as long as they are getting enough carbohydrate too?

RE: Depression Is “A Normal Brain Responding to Stress or Adversity”
I'm glad we have more stuff like this proving that depression isn't just a genetic fault. It's becoming so popular nowdays to pay for DNA tests to see if you are succeptible to depression and other afflictions. I assume such tests are just a clever marketing ploy on those that sell them.

RE: What does ray peat say about sweet tea?
It's said that white teas contain less fluoride. I personally do like the taste of such teas but interestingly I've noticed they sometimes give me a stomache ache, something I normally don't get.

Would that much vinegar have the same 'flushing' effect of taking niacin?

@psi I believe it also is succeptible to heavy metal contamination.

@psi We shall see I suppose. I could be exempt depending on what rules they apply to the draft.

RE: AI bubble is already over. Next pandemic soon?
@psi I noticed in my life that many who were submissive under the first pandemic changed their minds on it all once the whole thing ended. I seriously think they'd buy into it again though and just pretend they never knew any better.
