RE: Energy Drinks
@Jakeandpace Yes, I drink coffee pretty much daily but it doesn't give me that sudden boost that Redbull used to. I do feel smarter on days when I drink a lot of coffee and milk though.
I got flushing from Niacinamide pills when I first tried when out so either I got a bad supp or took too much or am just sensitive to flushing from them. I think it was 250mg so maybe too much.
Citric acid is definitely inflammatory for me in general. I used to rationalise my excessive Redbull use by thinking that the magnesium carbonate somehow neutralised the citric acid but now I just avoid citric acid altogether and feel better for it.

RE: Energy Drinks
@Jakeandpace Redbull gives me flushing if I take more than one. I think the flushing can have detrimental effects.
I said in another thread but I used to love drinking Redbulls and had a pretty strong reliance on them for that dopamine hit you talked about. I eventually realised my overconsumption of them was harming me though, I think the citric acid and the niacin causes like an allergic flush reaction.
I got awful Psoriasis from Redbulls after a while and nothing I tried to help it from a bioenergetic approach was working until I eventually stopped Redbulls entirely and it gradually cleared up completely. It was affecting me for a year.

RE: I can't get my stress under control
I was of the assumption that ashwagandha increased nitric oxide and potentially cortisol?

RE: Looking for advice
@ilnyarienàfaire On dreams, I think Kilgore is right. I typically have a lot of dreams and feel unrested from them. I almost always oversleep because I am so fatigued from my dreams that I feel too groggy to get up and just go back into the dreams, if that makes sense?
I've noticed that when I do sleep and don't have dreams (or at least don't conciously process I've had them) I feel A LOT more rested when I wake up and waking is a lot easier. I wish I could give advice as to how to dream less but this is my current biggest problem for myself also.

RE: The pro-metabolic drug DNP, banned by FDA, may treat most diseases
@Chud Did you increase calories when using it?

RE: Avoiding CAT Scans
I would take aspirin and wait a while longer to see what happens. I would. Could be awful advice but it's what I'd do.

RE: demoralization / blackpoll propaganda is cringe
@sneedful The thing is I don't think that sort of escalation is impossible but panic posting about it is not helping. Unless he is inviting us all round his place for tacos?

RE: demoralization / blackpoll propaganda is cringe
I always felt that the Generative Energy podcasts, especially after Covid, had too much of this blackpill type content. I always just wanted them to talk about solutions to various metabolic or social problems and not "Wow, Ray, we are really fucked huh?" "Umm... Yeah...".

RE: The benefits of smoking, if any, may be due to lowering endotoxin and estrogen
Has anyone here started smoking for the first time after becoming interested in bioenergetics? I'd love to hear someone's experience from this perspective.

RE: Ray Peat name drop during American Communist Party convention speech
I'm unfamiliar with this particular movement but Ray warned against revolutionaries.

RE: Curing psoriasis
If you are consuming products containing added citric acid or niacin I recommend cutting them back completely.
I was drinking multiple Redbull almost every day for a year because I liked the temporary energy from them. I didn't think they were harming me at all at first but I had Psoriasis suddenly all over my arms and terrible histamine like symptoms. I was always scratching my skin even whilst I slept.
I thought it was my job in the motor industry which was getting more stressful each day and I also was being exposed to the dirty oils and such in this job. Stress is definitely a factor but after putting some things together and hearing Ray talk negatively about flushing I decided to kick my Redbull habbit and lo and behold after almost a year of sufferring I had relief.
I think sometimes we are stuck in a cycle of stress that can cause very visible symptoms that go away once we break this cycle. I have a Redbull still every now and again and don't have issues, so I think a lot of stress is cumulative.

RE: do not consume finasteride
@thirstysugar Having not used it personally but knowing what it is like to be engulfed by health issues, I am assuming that lots of people just don't report the side effects because they don't realise the drug is causing it.
A lot of people will hop on a medicine that has been advertised to perform a certain positive action. I think most people are only observing whether or not the drug they are using is performing this advertised action well or not. They aren't really paying attention to the side effects unless they are severe enough to warrant them thinking what is causing them. Even in that case, I've seen many people have terrible side effects from prescribed drugs and not even begin to think for themselves to figure out if the symptoms they're getting are from the drug they are using.
Obviously you will get people on health forums that are usually a lot more observant to changes in their physiology but I won't make this assumption of the general population. Not really their fault either, as the mainstream medical complex will more often than not just prescribe a new drug for the symptoms that the old drug is causing.

RE: When to take Cyproheptadine for sleep?
@DkJoe2 I wonder if exogenous l-dopa would convert instead to adrenaline though? And is tyrosine use safe, it being a standalone amino-acid? I suppose it'd be a matter of individual experimentation

RE: Organ Donor? Heed This Warning
Very interesting and affirms some instinctual beliefs.

RE: When to take Cyproheptadine for sleep?
@risingfire If only lisuride was cheaply and easily available, as cypro is in a lot of countries.
