@insufferable Yes, real life socialising is probably one of the best things when people aren't using their phones. I don't attend bars or clubs so I can't speak for those who do but finding new friends outside of school/work can be very daunting for most I think.
Last year I had the chance to go wild camping for a week with 4 friends from highschool and it was very fun, even just sitting at a campfire and talking is incredibly stimulating in a positive way I think.
I believe it does but if you don't replace screentime with anything you enjoy then I think you make matters worse.
Maybe try replacing it with reading fascinating books. Try unplugging your computer and putting it away when you don't use it doesn't feel as much as an option. If you are able to, experiment with not having your mobile phone on you.
I recently did a similar experiment where I put my phone away and didn't touch it for 2 weeks and felt myself open up to the world a bit more.
If possible, find interesting environments to study in. Coffee shop can be a cozy place.
@Ecstatic_Hamster Are you the same hamster from RPF? I recall in the past you said you were doing well on bread but you take that back now? Sorry if I'm misremembering.
A very personal example I have is I am normally awful at catching things thrown at me but on the low-fat stints I've done I noticed my ability to catch things is hightened.
@CO3 yes of course this is true but one wonders if there is more to it than just more calories. For example you and I both know some foods are extremely detrimental, I think you and I both can see bread this way. But it would be interesting to hear if they have more benefits from bread than just more food.
@S-Holmes Sounds very pleasurable! I think a lot of people who grew up on eating a lot of bread would be happy trying a recipe like this.

Is there anyone here that is getting benefits from bread? I recall once in the past when I was newer to Peating I had some bread made from durum semolina wheat with butter, no added iron or pufa and the next morning I had the flattest stomach ever. I never seemed to have it happen again though so I was left doubtful.

If she is experiencing a lot of anxiety she probably isn't hyperthyroid but again she won't know unless she has a full hormonal panel
I imagine it would be highly contaminated with countless environmental toxins and if it really was that beneficial you'd probably hear about intellectuals drinking coffee brewed with seawater or something lol.
Putting the EMF topic aside, how many of us here spend most of their time online, watching videos, playing games, reading forums?
I realised years ago that my computer had become a large part of my life and have always had bouts of wanting to break free from it but always found myself using it again and again. I used to never use a smart phone at all either but since a few years ago I was suckered into the numerous "conveniences" that they can bring along.
I can't help but feel that these technologies are detrimental to my health in certain ways but the pleasantries they bring always push me back into using them, almost subconciously at times when I am really tired.
Has anyone here had experience in recent years of going without a smartphone/computer device for an extended period of time and if so, what were your observations?
