I recall Aajonus Vonderplanitz talked of how ejaculation can be detoxing cuz a lot of heavy metals tend to go into your semen (I assume due to its chemical nature the way it's made in terms of liquidity etc. and also the organ systems involved in producing it)
So a man's body is designed to plaster his wife's insides with toxic heavy metals? Seems sus.

RE: Do you have to be fasted for accurate blood test results?
For those tests, no. But if you're testing testosterone you should do it first thing in the morning. Certainly before 9am.
Also avoid any biotin supplementation a few days before.

RE: Best antihistamines natural/chemical
I suspect chronic allergy problems can be caused by parathyroid dysfunction and / or low cortisol. When I had allergy issues that just progressively got worse, I found through blood testing that I had sub-optimal Vitamin D levels. When I normalized my Vitamin D levels through supplementation, my allergy problems practically disappeared for years, only to finally resurface now the past couple of weeks.
My theory is that if Vitamin D is low, calcium absorption in the gut is poor, and parathyroid has to release hormone to stabilize blood calcium levels. I believe this hormone is linked to mast cell activation.
My other theory is that low cortisol can cause allergies to go berserk, but I don't have much evidence to go on for that other than feels.

Good for those who can handle a B vitamin complex !
I can't, whether metylated or not, it makes me anxious, nervous and depressed.
I have the same exact problem. I can handle them once every 1-2 weeks, but if I take B-vitamins on a daily basis I quickly get bonked out.

RE: Experiments with transdermal hormones
@Santosh What is the mechanism of tren fixing anhedonia? I might have to give this a try, although I think mine might be more related to low E2.

@metabolicmilk What would be the purpose for trying something like Tren in the first place? It's a pretty destructive substance that has essentially no health benefits to it. The only people who need to consider Tren are people trying to get as big as possible, and even most of them know you're playing with fire when you take that shit. I mean, it's your body. I don't care if people smoke crystal meth, I'm just genuinely curious how we go from "fixing the metabolism" to trenbolognia sandwiches.
Well the thread name is "experiments with transdermal hormones". You could call tren a hormone.
Back when it was legal there was a US-based company that made a tren PH in both a non-methylated oral form and a transdermal. They had some fancy oral / transdermal tech for good absorption and to avoid needing the methyl group. Would be good to see if that tech could be rejuvenated and applied to other hormones. I had a friend who tried the oral tren PH and the only side effects were higher BP and getting huge.

RE: Losing weight as fast as possible

You're never in a true deficit then because the lower your calories go the worse your metabolism gets.
The metabolism doesn't adapt that fast and the largest part of your BMR is determined by your body mass anyway. Have you ever lost weight before? Tell us how you can lose bodyfat without being in a deficit then. The whole world would love to know. The entire fitness and bodybuilding community would love to have this answer.
I guarantee you're going to tell me something that manipulates one or the other side of the CICO equation.

@zawisza said in Losing weight as fast as possible:
@Crypt-Keeper If you're dumb and just reduce calories your metoblism will drop and your calorie "deficit" will be your new maintenance level.
True, and then one is no longer in a deficit. But nevertheless, a deficit is needed to lose bodyfat. Hence the very real-world difficulty that people encounter when trying to lose weight, or when getting very lean for a contest.
You can do tricks to try to keep your metabolism up, but at the end of the day you still need to be in a deficit lose bodyfat. It's just the laws of energy.

Excess calories can make people fat but that does not imply that calorie deficit makes people lose weight.
Yes it does.

Literally every problem in the world is because of vitamin A toxicity! From flu to rosacea...
In fairness, it's not dramatically different than the previous forum viewpoint that estrogen is a toxin ("carcinogen") and should be eliminated as much as possible. Or likewise cortisol, etc. It's the same general view, but now they're targeting Vitamin A.

Unless you actually have a deficiency of DHT I don't really see the point of taking it. I bought some thinking it would be amazing but after really understanding just how useless high DHT is, I felt a bit disappointed. It's a calming, sedating hormone. Just pop a Benadryl if you want that feeling. Plus it's highly anti-estrogenic and if it's out of balance with T then it's probably anti-androgenic in a way also. Read the posts about DHT from people like TheBeard, etc. on the old forum. The consensus seemed to be that it wasn't helpful.
If you have T powder you can just take that orally and much of it will convert to DHT.
If you have low DHT (and the symptoms of low DHT) then maybe it would be helpful.

@Crypt-Keeper how could hypothyroidism be necessary for weight loss? That's ridiculous
i mean it causes weight gain in the short run.... just like amputation.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of sarcasm and such. But I think everyone knows that BMR eventually goes down when calorie expenditure outpaces intake. There can be strategies to mitigate that, like calorie cycling or whatever, but at the end of the day there's no other way to lose body fat unless expenditure exceeds intake over a period of time.

RE: What can we learn from this YouTube short regarding nutrition and exercise?
I can't imagine eating that much in one sitting. Or even what the point is. If he's willing to eat 4,000 calories, then I don't see what's wrong with spreading that out throughout the day, unless he doesn't have the time to eat more frequently.

@Kilgore a deficit by definition will lower the metabolism and in the long term likely worsen the condition. Is this another thing you think Ray said?
Maybe I'm missing something but isn't a deficit necessary to lose body fat?

I recently tested my T order and turns out it's actually T Propionate..
Did they have the right number on the package? I'm wondering if they just got the order wrong / mixed up, or if they actually tried to pass off one substance for the other.

I'm probably one of those people. It's almost impossible to be truly healthy without being lean.

RE: No sex drive, Long refractory period and ED
Like you say it's probably something hormonal and is likely behind your other chronic issues since hormones will affect neurosteroids and neurotransmitters, etc.
I would get prolactin, estradiol, shbg and dht tested. Even if you have to buy some of those DIY blood tests.

RE: Testicular microlithiasis (calcium deposits) and atrophy
@chateau_marmot I know Chris Masterjohn recommends getting the below tests taken together. (These are LabCorp names so might be different for your lab.)
Ca+PTH Intact (this is basically Calcium and PTH, Intact)
Calcitriol(1,25 di-OH Vit D)
Vitamin D, 25-HydroxyHe has ways of drawing some conclusions from those.
Is your hair thinning yet?
Here is the LabCorp interpretation. I doubt you have a PTH problem but there might be something there that can be optimized.
Interpretation Intact PTH Calcium (pg/mL) (mg/dL) Normal 15 - 65 8.6 - 10.2 Primary Hyperparathyroidism >65 >10.2 Secondary Hyperparathyroidism >65 <10.2 Non-Parathyroid Hypercalcemia <65 >10.2 Hypoparathyroidism <15 < 8.6 Non-Parathyroid Hypocalcemia 15 - 65 < 8.6
